This past July marked the 10th year I've lived here, in Massachusetts. I've moved twice, once when I was ~2 from Daan (A section of Taipei) to another section of Taipei, don't remember where. Then the big one, when I was nearly 4. From Taipei to Boston, I'm kind of glad it was when I was young. Ignorance was bliss, I don't think I had any idea what was going on, and I only had a few friends. My sister has moved a lot though, somewhere around 10 times during the 3 years when she existed and I didn't.
  2. Well um...No really, it happens all the time? No one is special just because something coincidental happened. Everyone is special though. \ Anyway, the only story I can think of, two years ago, when I was in Taiwan...This was when I still played RuneScape, and I browsed the General forums. There was something about Jagex pulling ideas from the real world, and something came up about how the Kandarin (?) standard looks like some car company's logo. (Don't remember which one, it was German I think, and started with an A and had some accent in it? Now that I think about it, I have no idea what that accent is called, ugh I'm going to fail French...) So that same day, I was going around with my uncle, and when I was getting out of his car, I look down...And there. The car company's name, with the logo. That's the best I can think of. :

I think I will convince myself to stop playing my numerous PC games and get on finally! And I'm done with homework, yay. Edit: Really guys? No space for me? Oh well. :( (Or is it something else?)
  4. It's something I've considered, not like I should really be seriously considering anything yet... But really, Programming is going to be my main non-core course during high school, and I love video games (I'm a PC gamer to be honest, always will...), so...Why not? A few years ago, I went to a computer camp where there were courses where you learned to make games, but I don't remember a thing. I'd most likely get frustrated though and smash a few computers in the process. I wouldn't mind not being a programmer though, but I'm not extremely creative.
  5. The end. Regret. And I'm only regretful when something ends. Death is the end of life. When I die, I bet I'll be like "PMGS I REGRET EVERYTHING!!?!?!" That's not to mention everyday things, like last week, I was dreading the end of summer vacation. I'm also afraid of a ton of things that lead to death, like car accidents, fire, disease, etc.
  6. Lol at all the people repeating the same stupid joke over and over. Lol at my hypocrisy. And lol at how I only barely have a grin right now, yet am using "lol" over and over. Lol at my failure. Anyway. I don't use "lol". Anymore, at least. "Lol" is what all the "cool" people say, and I'm not cool enough to say it. Therefore, I say "lawl" and "lulz" instead. Say what you want, I'm sure they're both originated from 4chan or something, but it's not like I've ever really used 4chan. Really though, I just prefer them. "Lol" is so...Bland. Likewise, or at least it was when I played RuneScape, and for a while afterwards. Also, like Pyromancer, I use "rofl" if I actually laugh. Though I never am on the floor laughing, and no, my [wagon] has never fallen off.

Not only melee. Classic too. Where do you think "Brawl sucks" comes from? Falcon Punch is so much faster in Classic, it's actually really good. Not to mention it covers a lot more ground. And Kirby just kicks [wagon], he has a great [bleep]e and with five jumps...Once you're off the stage, you're dead. Nothing like that in Brawl though. Except maybe Metaknight. :
  8. ThurinEthir replied to Caxis's topic in Off-Topic
I think I'll go try playing Melee again later. Don't know if I'll be any good, I completely forgot how to use Marth, who was my best. Oh, and Hurricane Ike is coming...Nowhere near me thankfully...

People who fight in some martial arts thing (Like judo) are fine. There are rules, there's a judge/ref there, it's not as stupid. People who fight out of anger or out of retaliation are okay. People get physical when angry. It's expected. People who fight for the sake of fighting, who set up fight clubs at school, who fight other people (Who may or may not want to fight back) to seem cool, no. Just no. Hate those people. There's a kid at my school, he's like that. One of my friends (Not very popular) got into an argument with another guy (An even less popular kid, but apparently this kid didn't know that), and they were going to settle things by themselves. Then the kid I mentioned, he jumps on my friend out of nowhere. Everyone already hated him, and now everyone hates him more. He tried to fight someone to seem cool, but ended up actually defending an even less cool ( -.- ) guy. Fail.

I don't get the people who care about formalities when you're in an actual fight, actually trying to not get hurt, and don't have a huge advantage. Like if I was up against some huge kid, and he really wanted to hurt me, I would kick him in the balls, who cares if anyone thinks it's not manly or something. That said, my usual plan is to fake a punch up high, draw my leg back for a kick, watch them block their crotch in anticipation, and strike them in the shin, knocking them down sometimes. And then it's basically over. Or is that acting like a [kitty]? -.-
  11. I tried two, the Cantonese/romanized (?) version of it (My current one), and the Mandarin/Chinese version of it. At least I think. All I remember is that when I moved here from Taiwan, it got slightly changed, and it had something to do with Cantonese. Apparently. First one: AUSTRALIA 1173.25 NEW ZEALAND 565.43 CANADA 283.09 UNITED STATES 195.79 UNITED KINGDOM 193.23 Lots of Asians in Australia, I guess. Other form: AUSTRALIA 817.68 NEW ZEALAND 459.21 CANADA 428.19 UNITED STATES 244.3 AUSTRIA 119.84 SPAIN 69.25 SWITZERLAND 50.48 NORWAY 45.81 DENMARK 42.44 SWEDEN 40.45 Confirmed that.

I'm not really one for brawling and throwing punch after punch, I prefer being agile and screwing with people's minds. It simply fits me better, as I've noted so many times, I'm not very strong and I would have no chance against most people at my school. And my pencil is abnormally sharp, I've actually drawn blood with it before. My blood, of course. I could easily use it as a weapon if needed...Hopefully. So yeah, I don't really fight. Never done martial arts, and only have gotten in a few minor skirmishes at school.

Just remember, this is the guy that spazzed out on the "Nintendo, a Console for Children" thread. -.- And honestly...Read?

For some ridiculous reason I like Ganon better in Brawl than Melee. And I'm better with him in Brawl than Melee. :? I suck with Falco though, I tried picking him up near the end of my Melee life, but I didn't really like him. Once again, I think I'm "better" with him in Brawl than Melee. Zelda is questionable, I never really used her in Melee. She hasn't changed that much though. Ike supposedly fits my playstyle, but I can't get anywhere with him. Other than abusing Aether over and over.

Kind of. Last Sunday, I was at a party, they only had a N64 (And a PS2) so we stuck that in the TV and played the original. And one of my friends doesn't have a Wii, but a Gamecube (With Melee, of course), and I go to his house sometimes. I guess I'd prefer Brawl any day though. Simply because of Dedede. Falco, Zelda and Ganondorf are in Melee, but simply aren't the same.
  16. ThurinEthir replied to Caxis's topic in Off-Topic
King Dedede can rip Ike apart. Usually. Source? Today. I had my first...Brawl session in months. My friends all chose Ike at one point, while I was Dedede. Won them all. Though most of my friends suck with Ike. Waddle Dees seem to have a really big effect on Ike though. They can screw around with basically every character, but it seems as if Ike takes the biggest beating. My friend got a smash ball, and was about to use it on me, and I chucked a Waddle Dee at him. Knocked it right out. He got it again. Threw another Waddle Dee. He used it right as the Waddle Dee hit, missed me completely but the Waddle Dee got sent to oblivion. Then I Dededecided (Lawl wut) and sent it to Super Sudden Death, where I threw another Waddle Dee at him and won. Love them Waddle Dees. \ The chart I posted has DK over Metaknight. And a few even matches, like GaW, TL and Zelda. Ganondorf loses to everyone.
  17. Eh, I skimmed the last few posts, too long and have too many big words and concepts I don't understand. :| So chances are this has already been said. But whatever. Evolution is not exactly the same as human evolution. They follow the same principals, yes, but just because I believe that humans did not necessarily evolve, does not mean that I reject evolution that has been proven in the case of some animals. I suppose I agree with How2PK on this one. I don't really accept nor reject human evolution, but I accept evolution in general. I mean...It happened on Pokemon.
  18. Well...Today, some kid ran up to me in the middle of the hallway and was like "LEGEND OF ZELDA KICKS [wagon]!" -.- I'll think of more later...
  19. Guys, we may need some fire extinguishers here. I'm sorry if not all of us waste our time reading random things about video game history. Sorry. What? Look at the sales numbers. The 360 is some 6 million copies ahead of the PS3, the Wii is 6 million copies ahead of the 360. If the Wii has all the great games and stuff, then why is it currently jostling with the 360 for first place, if you call 6 million copies close? Who said every game for the 360 is hardcore? It's just like how you guys always pull the "NOT EVERY NINTENDO GAME IS CASUAL AND KIDDY LOLOLOLOLOLOLYUZLUOLULW" card. So...Why are we comparing the 360 and SNES again? If we're comparing the companies, let's look at Microsoft and Nintendo. Which has accomplished more for gaming? Microsoft by a few miles, PC anyone? Oh...Kay? Like Nadril said so well a while ago, though graphics alone do NOT make a great game, they actually play a factor, believe it or not. Will you spend $50 to buy a game that looks like crap (And you don't know if it's good or bad), or would you rather get a game that looks great, and likewise, may or may not be good. That's simply the way humans work, we care about looks and appearance. If you don't, guess you aren't human. I want to see you pull this on me. Come on. :P
  20. Schedule? Why not. A Block - Math (Sophomore honors) B Block - English (Curriculum I, the highest we have. Yeah, no honors for freshmen...Ridiculous, I know people who get honors in 7th grade) C Block - Continuing Latin D1 + D3 Block - Sexuality and Health :P (Gym second semester, I love how it's only half a year... :ugeek: ) D2 + D4 Block - Exploring Tech (Also half a year, next semester is Robotics) E Block - Physics F Block - History G Block - French So nice and simple after middle school. Nice to know I've already memorized it after a day.
  21. Just wait until College now :P I was about to put something like "though college will probably beat up high school and piss on its face." Amirite? Apparently one of my friends accidentally went to my sister's AP Physics class today. Got a lulz out of that.
  22. Heh, I know which school you go to (Yeah, I'm a stalker...) and I'd have to say my school is way better. \ Really though, I know someone who goes to your school (A senior). Oh, and yea, middle school had it's good points, but high school basically destroys it. Our principal/superintendent is basically screwing everything over though. Rumors are that frees might not be so free anymore. -.-
  23. Back today. A good deal of my classes suck, in terms of teacher and classmates. I skipped ahead a year in math, so I know absolutely no one in my class, I don't really know anyone in my English or history classes, but the teachers are somewhat good (Or I've heard). Physics, Latin and French though are pretty nice. Physics is one of my favorite subjects, definitely my favorite science, aside from math, if that counts. Though the two are interlinked so much that it actually makes sense why I like it. The teacher is great, I have a ton of friends in my class, guess it'll be the class I look forward to every day. (That I have it, at least) The Latin teacher is great, my sister has had him for a few years, so I'm already off to a good start. And a nice class too. French is just...Lawl wut? First impressions at least. Things still can change. And I think I came off fairly well, though I ended up wearing my Link shirt which basically screams "UBER NERRRRD!"
  24. I think that would realistically apply to a 00's kid. I guess I'm a late '90s kid, because I remember the internet from when I was ~4-5. Netscape. (Hahahah I just realized the last time I actually used IE as my default browser was when I was 4. ) My family is pretty high-tech though, maybe I'm just special. :? Anyway, when I was in Taiwan, the wireless connection was terrible. My uncle's router was basically dead, and my sister used the wire most of the time. So I was stuck without internet. I had brought Civ4 with me though, I played a bunch of that. And sometime last year, there were some internet issues here, we had dial-up on one of our computers though. I had enough schoolwork to keep my somewhat busy, and I played around with Photoshop in my spare time.
