The community was smaller and more tight knit, Andrew and Paul were part of the community as opposed to the overlords of it. The game was also relatively new so there was a lot of things to explore.

No they don't, Jagex confirmed that they were just for decorative purposes. But they look just like normal leather boots. I know makes me mad :x I want good gardening boots, not some rubbish leather ones

people being able to choose what items they keep when they die, in the wilderness specificaly clarify and choose are completely different words. No where did Jagex say that you could choose what 3 items you will keep when you die, they merely said that they would clarify which ones you would keep.
