  1. My friend who gets me free tickets occasionally said he could get me some for Metallica this weekend. Not a big fan but it should be good. EDIT: People are apparently selling the tickets for 200-300eur each now. Crazy.
  2. I hug all my friends as a greeting or goodbye, gender doesn't matter. Everyone I know do the same. Hell, I've even kissed most of them (male and female friends) on new year's. So much for the stereotype that all Scandinavians are cold and distant!
  3. He didn't mention that. He said "incoherent = what society stereotypes as dumb". There's a reason you should use spell and grammar check when e-mailing someone important like your boss. So they don't think you're stupid. You're right, my bad. I saw him saying "doesn't type full sentences" and "people under the age of 14/15 are not raving morons" and simply made that connection. Reading comprehension sucks when you've had a few. My point still stands though, even if it was wholly pointless in this particular context.
  4. Guess what, if someone treats you like a child it's because you behave like one. I couldn't care less how old you are, you can be 35 or 10, nobody cares. If you want to be taken seriously then don't throw a "GOD NOBODY UNDERSTANDS ME" tantrum when you get called out on the garbage you spew out. In this case you implied that the fact that you don't TYEP LEIK DIS is somehow correlated with how smart you are, that's BS and I keep hearing it over and over from kids "who want to be taken seriously". You can type, good; now type something worthwhile. Just to make this clear, I wasn't referring to you specifically, just people your age in general who think they're geniuses just because they can type out their words. The fact that you mentioned the "coherent = smart" in your post, and then replied to my other post was only coincidental since it wasn't necessarily aimed at you specifically.
  5. *Hugs Skull* It's Ok, pokemon is cool, but is a bit kiddy. Then again, kiddy can be fun ;) ur rite if i tlk lik dis ppl tink im smrt. You're missing the point (again). Just because you have grasped the concept of "vowels = GOOD" doesn't make you a genius any more than removing your pants before taking a [cabbage] does. And it certainly doesn't make me any more inclined to read the garbage you write when I realise that hey, you're yet another clueless little kid with an overinflated sense of self-importance. I'm tired of every 14 year old kid who wears his ability to type coherent sentences like a [bleep]ing badge of honor. Get over yourself you smug little child.
  6. Being able to type coherent sentences has no significant correlation to whether you're a moron or not. Make of that what you will.
  7. I hope you're being sarcastic because you could not have brought up any worse threads than those three. Judging from the thread you just posted I doubt that's the case, however.
  8. Bubsa's good post/crap post ratio was significantly better; he could also be quite obnoxious at times though. BEAR and rsn_lead were good posters. Rizla too.
  9. Oh for [bleep]s sake, Paperclips wasn't especially funny. The very fact that a lot of people here think of him as the highlight in the history of OT posters is something I can't quite wrap my head around. His posts got old really fast. However, one thing I do think is funny is that these threads seem to be appear once a month or so, and the people who post in them always reminisce the good ole' days... 6 months ago. Here's a fascinating tidbit for you from someone who's been here for 7 years: OT hasn't changed in the slightest - the same kind of threads that were posted back then are posted now, and the same kind of posters still post; they've only been recycled. I'd say it's only gotten (microscopically) better, since some of the stupid crap that used to flood the forums no longer is allowed. Have a nice day!
  10. When you reach out your hand for a handshake and the other person only grasps half your hand. Depending on the person, handshakes should be friendly yet firm; I can't shake your hand firmly when you decide to cut off my hand like that (you jerk), it just turns limp and lifeless. It makes me hate the person a little bit. I think it was Demetri Martin who did a joke on this.
  11. Yeah, you're right. However, Merriam-Webster recognises it as a word, but dictionary.com doesn't. I remember looking up the Swedish equivalent years ago and getting "funner" as one of the results. Irregardless I would never use it in a sentence myself. see what i did there 8-) home run
  12. Funner? It is a word, as is "funnest". I have nothing else to contribute to this thread.
  13. #3 Gloria 2009 is off to an excellent start.
  14. Yeah, I realise I worded that a bit wrong/harshly. You should of course strive to maintain a positive outlook on life and the people around you, because as barf-inducingly cliché as it sounds I think "shoot for the stars..." does ring true in a lot of - if not most - cases. Now that that's said, these short stories always seem to have pre-schoolers in mind or something, as they seem to be uhh... somewhat divorced from reality. I guess I don't see how a poorly written 800-word story can inspire people on an internet forum to act kinder to one another. If they do, that's great. I'm not against them being posted once in a while, as they can spark up semi-interesting discussion. But, and here's my point, I don't think Reb would take the time out of his day to sincerely try to inspire people on this forum to act nicer to one another with a copy-paste chainmail his mum sent him, with a thread title that read "...". Whether it was a result of drunkposting or "YEEHAW I'M DOIN DRUGS!", I don't know. I am, however, done putting words in his mouth now!
  15. Except I don't think this was posted with the intention of being a serious thread. It looks like an "I'm gonna post this stupid thread... ironically"; what with the lack of any sort of effort being put into the OP, among other things. For some reason I doubt Reb gives a flying [cabbage] how OTers treat their "fellow beings" in real life, let alone wanting to give us the incentive to improve on our manners. And why should he. EDIT: I could be wrong though. Maybe he loves us.
  16. Only thing I thought was cringe-worthy was everyone pretending to tear up when Heath Ledger won his award. You just knew a lot of them did. The guy who won the Oscar for best animated short, however... best Oscar speech ever. I think Jackman did a great job though. He was adorable.

    Quake Live

I've heard about it and it sounds interesting. So I registered, will check it out more closely tomorrow. Username is Hagel.
  18. I find it oddly hilarious that BlueTear used to have a leet-speak signature. Probably one of the most sensible posters this place has ever had.
  19. I honestly thought this would be a banme thread at first. On a related note, what is it about moms and "fwd: fwd: fwd:" mails. It is a peculiar phenomenon.
  20. Was finally released on Spotify. Now they just gotta add Spiritual Healing as well.
  21. I am indeed an, as you say, connoisseur of all things Nightwish - especially the post-Sami period (oh mr. Hietala <3). Try to find a funkier bass riff than the one on The Siren (hint: you can't). Some fun facts: Emppu (the guitarist) has awful taste in beer, likes Gilmore Girls and thinks Black Sabbath with Ronny James Dio was the best Sabbath. PM for more details.
  22. I had one which I won in a Christmas graphic contest a few years back, unfortunately the forums went bye-bye a short time later. For some reason, when the forums came back up again no one would give me my custom rank back. Wasn't really clear why, either. Oh well, I don't remember what it was but it was probably something lame. edit: YES I AM STILL BITTER
  23. When me and my friends were out one night, we found a case with Iron Cobras inside them outside an apartment building. My friend, who's a drummer, grabbed them. Apparently they cost around 500eur.
