This is subjective and depends entirely on what sound you want. Please don't max out the bass though; this is universally bad unless you're in Kyuss or something. First off, these exercises are boring as hell, but they seriously improve your stamina and speed (in both right and left hand) faster than regular playing does. Here's a of the exercise I usually do. Go through it a few times each time you play. For pinched harmonics, the point is to basically pick the note, and barely brush your thumb across the string as you pick it. More distortion and treble makes it easier. Pinched harmonics also sound much better with vibrato. As for tapping, I very rarely do this in the music I play, but you must realise that Satriani probably uses much better gear than you do. I watched a few minutes of the song and the way it's played would require a good amp and even better pickups. Also coordination, goddamn.

If it is in fact a PR stunt then they're doing one of hell of a job trying to cover it up, seeing as employees at 3DR have already started looking for new jobs. Don't get me wrong, I would love nothing better than waking up tomorrow with the "YOU ALWAYS BET ONE DUKE!!!" scenario. I played the [cabbage] out of Duke Nukem 3D as a kid and it remains to this day the best FPS I've played. But meh, it doesn't look like it'll happen. Former employees at 3DR and other game developers have basically replied with "hah, surprised it didn't happen sooner".

There's probably no one whose music and movie recommendations I appreciate quite as much as I do yours, Daan. I just listened to "Scott 4" and wow, it's great. The Seventh Seal is a fantastic song. I was looking for another album by Nick Cave too, so I'm glad your list had one I didn't already have. I've played the Murder Ballads CD a lot the past few weeks and it just gets better and better. Yeah, Alienware is overpriced garbage. Same can be said about how their computers look, jesus christ. I've got a question for everyone, what's your addon memory usage? Mine stays between 48-52 MiB, and I've asked in the guild and for them it's considerably lower (to put it lightly). I have no idea what addon takes up so much memory, because I really don't have that many addons activated. I know QuestHelper is a memory hog, but it can't take up like 20 MiB, can it?

And the reason they could self-fund for so long was because they lived off money coming from Max Payne and some other game I can't recall right now. EDIT: also they changed graphic engines like 6 times or something ridiculous like that.

Christ, for almost half my life, I've been able to wake up each morning and think "yep, Duke Nukem Forever is still being worked on." This news is strangely depressing. I'm waiting for this to be a hoax though. In a week they're going to release the game and go "YOU ALWAYS BET ON DUKE!!!" and it shall be a glorious day filled with happiness and nerd tears.

Nagrand rules man. Terokkar was pretty bad, not looking forward to doing that zone later with my hunter. EDIT: Just noticed, Terokkar at level 69? Isn't that like a level 62-64 zone? And Nagrand 65-66? I remember going from 68-70 in Netherstorm anyway. I have some UI issues. I tried installing Elkano's Buffbars or whatever it's called (it looks better than Buffalo), but I can't see it anywhere on the addon list. I have Elkano's Frames Resized, so I figured there might be some issue between those, so I removed the latter, but it won't disappear from the addon list for some reason - and Elkano's Buffbars still won't appear. Anybody got an idea? Does the buffbar addon go under a completely different name or something? Also the drama going on between my guild and practically every other guild on the server is absolutely hilarious, the realm forum is glorious. Seriously, our guild has been trolling the [cabbage] out of all non-Goon-Squad-guilds and non-guildies for years, and they still don't get it. It is beautiful.

Why are you making it sound like that's a bad thing? Those "wacky" internet humour shirts are absolutely terrible. Also I don't see what the big deal is, and why this is at all topic-worthy. People these days seem to be so obsessed with different cliques and the need to fit into one of them; I really don't get it. From my own experience, all through kindergarden, elementary school, high school and university, nobody gave ten [cabbage]s what "clique" you fit into; if you were interesting, cool and friendly, people would hang out with you. Didn't matter what clothes you wore or if you knew a lot of math, science or sports - it was mixed. "Jocks" would hang out with the math and science wizzes, just like they would hang out with the "jocks". Maybe it's just Sweden.

Haven't downloaded a song ever since I started using Spotify 6 months ago. Before that however, I downloaded quite a lot of music, but in my defense I've always bought music as well. I've ordered 8 albums just this past week. I can say with certainty that I wouldn't have bought close to the amount of music I've done growing up if it wasn't for pirating. I probably wouldn't be going to concerts either, or play guitar.

I have never heard of most of the bands in your list, but after reading your descriptions I will make it a point to check them out (the ones that are available on Spotify anyway). Nice read!

The food my mom cooks is generally healthy; not much fat, always with vegetables and we never eat the same dish twice in a week. I try to follow the same philosphy when I cook myself. I'm not a big fan of sweet things like candy or cookies, so I basically never eat that. I'd say the only time I eat unhealthy food is when I drink alcohol (chips, nuts), and when I'm going out (hamburgers, fries, steak, etc.). I've started lifting weights again which has a very noticeable effect on my mood. I feel happier, and much more "alert" and, I guess, energetic.

Screw you all, I want to raid too. :( Oh well, only 47 levels to go!

Yeah I can't understand how people can like light beers. We have stuff like Corona and Sol which pretty popular and probably similar - but I'm sure Bud Light is weaker still, because Budweiser original really tastes like water; or at least cheap and very watered down beer you get at [cabbage]ty pubs.

I mostly/always drink beer. It's cheap, you don't have to drag a bunch of different bottles with you everywhere, and a cold beer in the sun is one of the best things in life. Usually I drink Dansk Fadöl (cheap while tasting great), but I also enjoy Guinness, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (too expensive for me now though), Staropramen, Åbro, Hobgoblin, Bishop's Finger, Newcastle Brown Ale, etc. As far as drinks go I used to have a thing for P2. It consists of vanilla vodka + Sourz Apple with 7up or Sprite. Vanilla vodka with Sprite works well too. I like the occasional Jägermeister as well. Haven't tried the Jägerbomb though.

Apparently Cameron MacIntosh, producer of the original Les Miserable stage production said "Vocally it is one of the best versions of the song I've ever heard. Touching, thrilling and uplifting." She's got a great voice. I'm happy for her.

I think they're great, but I don't think I've ever listened to any of their albums from start to finish... so I wouldn't know what album to choose. And as usual with lists like these, some bands are bound to be forgotten about.
