Seconding this sentiment. The biggest (and only) trouble I have with DM is getting past the throaty singing. This thread will be my go-to spot when I do decide to take the time to get into it though. Only bands from the list I've listened to is Cynic and Death, and I really love their music. Im pretty sure you would like Atheist. Yeah I've been meaning to give them a shot, but they're not available on Spotify yet.

I feel like a broken record, but Zakk Wylde did a cover of Beatles's Come Together which I think I prefer over the original - although that might have something to do with the fact that I heard his version about 100x times before I heard the original. [hide=Come Together][yt]WT8ez972VuY[/yt][/hide] He's done literally a ton of covers (probably something like 30-40). Here's one of Stairway to Heaven which I honestly also prefer over the original, the solo is orgasmic. [hide=Stairway to Heaven][yt]ZO2djUastZg[/yt][/hide] Also two covers Joe Bonamassa has made, first one is Tom Waits's Jockey Full of Bourbon and the second is of the classic Feelin' Good. The guy is a blues genius. [hide=Jockey Full of Bourbon][yt]Od8Sx9MKlvM[/yt][/hide] [hide=Feelin' Good]fIE6fVNeBXc[/hide]

I have never seen such an epic game video  Yeah, it's an ability the Templar class has. It has like an hour long cooldown though.
-
Items which you can sock tend to have a gem set bonus. To get the bonus you need to place the correct coloured gems in the correct sockets. You usually get some extra +sta or +str.
-
Trying to decide what class to roll, and I have to say Templar looks very tempting right now.

Damn was hoping you could get past the log-in screen at least. Oh well, 6 more days and it's Abyss time. :) Also, the launcher is terrible. Apparently you have to click "repair" a few times before the game will start, but it still didn't launch for me. When I clicked the Aion[Caution: Executable File] on my keyboard it worked though. Unghh. edit: Already got a Goon guild ready for next closed beta. :)

Pre-ordered and beta key received! Screw my friends, I'll convince them later. Download will be done in ~2hrs.

Some more info on the penalty system in this game Sounds pretty good. It's enough to make you cautious, but the world doesn't end should you die. Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit here, Nadril. :P

Basically, if you can play the first Far Cry on your computer it should work for you, since it's built on a modified version of the CryEngine. Also since it wasn't mentioned in the OP, the game fee will be $15 a month, less if you pay for multiple months.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, found out later that NCSoft developed both Guild Wars and Lineage 1/2 so this is not very surprising. I stumbled upon a video where they show and explain the game really well (the story, character customization, quests, combat, flying, PvP), so if you have the slightest bit of interest in Aion, watch this video. I have to say, I'm not usually into PvP, but PvP in this game looks absolutely epic. I very much like the fact that they reward running around your target as well. If you run sideways your dodge stats are increased, block is increased when you backwards, and when you run forwards your attack stats are increased. That further adds to the strategic aspect of the combat they want to enforce in the game, which sounds really great. I am officially excited as hell about the game after watching the video, and I'm very tempted to place a pre-order. :) Also, someone asked about computer specs: A bit outdated perhaps but they should give you an idea.

Just the album cover must've freaked people out a lot when it came. It's really creepy even today.

Schlager will cause me to leave the room, my pulse increases and I can't think with that music around. Other than that I can stomach most music, but there's simply nothing redeeming about this [cabbage]: [yt]c1TgYKriIR8[/yt] ffffffffffffffffffffffff

I'd think so, since 12 people have killed themselves over it. It didn't hit me that he was actually gone until a few days ago when I watched some clips on youtube. Definitely choked up a little. I had forgotten what a brilliant entertainer he really was (definitely one of the best we've ever had) and I don't think any other artist has released anywhere near the same amount of classics as him - well, except maybe Beatles. I used to be a huge Michael Jackson fan when I was little. "Heal the World" was the first song ever that I genuinely liked (first song I recorded onto tape as well) at age 3 or 4. I was a huge fan up until Blood on the Dance Floor, after that he just kinda disappeared so I slowly lost interest. If he had died 10 years ago, I'd probably have wept like a little girl.

Just watched a few gameplay videos and the game looks brilliant. I'm really loving the UI. A few questions though, it might not be very clear now since it's in beta, but what do we know as far as end-game content goes? It seems to be mostly centered around PvPing, but will there be PvE such as instances etc, as well? And what's the game-world like, is it linear (like Guild Wars) or is it open with exploring possibilities (like WoW)? Also are the non-city areas instanced? Basically what I want to know is whether there are any similarities between Aion and Guild Wars, since, well, the art-style looks very similar. It's a stupid question I know, but I just gotta know before I get too hyped up for this game. :P

You couldn't post this in the Twilight thread, no sire! Had to make yet another thread about this horrible [bleep]ing book series. Great job!

Sounds a lot like the ones we have up north in Sweden called knott, their bites hurt like hell. Looks like knotts are smaller than midges, but they make up for it by being known to kill horses and cows.

Really? With your obvious fluency in colloquial and textual English, you couldn't deduce that what = "wat"? Of course you could, you just had to find some way of voicing the typo in a derogatory way. The reason I'm bringing this up is because I recall a few other circumstances of the same thing with you. Its not even being a grammar-Nazi, it is being a jerk. Usually not a grammar-nazi but lazy OPs sometimes rub me the wrong way. This one was particularly lazy and dumb, and his H-key obviously wasn't broken, so I thought "can't have any of that on my glorious Tip.it forum!" and made a post with equal thoughtfulness and effort. Anyway sorry for being a jerk y'all. :(
-
Now that we've settled that, what the hell does "wat" mean?

Sorry I wasn't aware there were any huge fans of the original movie. I just figured people go see these comic movies to be entertained for a few hours with pretty explosions and cool fightscenes, and afterwards you'll have a few beers with your friends and go " yea, it was worth the 14 bucks"... and then you talk about other stuff. Transformers delivered A++ on all of those accounts plus featuring Megan Fox. If you expect anything more then yeah, you will probably be disappointed. I just wasn't aware that there are people who actually do that, that's all.

Fun fact, the EU trial lasts 14 days! It's 9.6gb in size though and the speed you get from the mirror-sites is abysmal. 14hrs left.
-
Are people seriously complaining that the movie was dumb and shallow? Are you kidding me. If you want your films to be deep and intricate you should probably stay away from the ones that are based on goddamn comics. Hope that helps.
-
I played the beta for a day or two, but to me it just felt like another generic MMORPG and not very LOTRish at all. Plus the UI was pretty bad. That said I'll probably give it another shot with this 10 day trial thing.

Graves set aside for protesters. Didn't the Iran state TV only announce that seven people had been killed? Gotta be at least a 100 gravestones in that pic alone. Utterly horrifying.
