  1. Kinda bummed I missed seeing Seasick Steve and Neil Young a few weeks ago at the 'Where The Action Is' festival. Also playing that day: Pixies, The Pretenders and some other bands. Fractured my toe a few days before and it was pissing down that day, oh well. :(
  2. Just saw a sneak preview of it with some friends today. The effects are brilliant, but the story is pretty predictable and there were some cringe-worthy moments in there as well. It pisses all over most comic book-based movies though. Overall a very entertaining movie, wouldn't mind seeing it again. [hide=spoiler alert]I think I missed it, but how the hell did Sam's parents end up in Egypt? Weren't they in Paris?[/hide]
  3. You're that guy at parties, aren't you.
  4. It's like 5:40 AM there right now, so we probably won't hear anything new for another 4 hours or so. There's rumours going around of some big anti-protest thing "planned for tomorrow" though which sounds pretty ominous. From @TehranBureau: Here's hoping for the best.
  5. It's generally a good rule of thumb to, before replying to a thread like this, not have your head completely stuck up your [wagon]. All of your posts in this thread have been riddled with inaccuracies and dumb opinions that would suggest you are an inbred. I guess what I'm trying to say here is get the [bleep] out.
  6. If you're older than 12 I think I'm literally going to cry.
  7. Now, I'm not one to condone violent actions at all usually, but in this case the deaths of civilians play a pretty important role in making the Iranian people even more determined to protest and fight their country's oppressive regime. Removing Ahmedinejad would make little difference, it's the Ayatollah that needs to be overthrown; the entire bloody regime needs a massive overhaul. Also, "protesting is bad"? Look at how dumb you are. And why do Americans keep bringing up their own country in this debate? It's in every other post I read. Are you guys really that centralized?
  8. A poster on another forum who lives in Tehran, but is now staying in Isfahan, had this to say when another poster asked what the death toll was right now. Jesus christ. Yeah, there are a lot of videos with literally hundreds of thousands of protesters just marching in complete silence. It's really effective and creepy at the same time. Also, here's an amazing first-hand account from a Boston Globe reporter in Tehran with his wife. http://www.boston.com/news/politics/pol ... patch.html

    Oblivion

They're working on a new Elder Scrolls game too, aren't they? On a slightly updated engine too, I think. God I hope they have a decent fighting system this time. They should just copy-paste the one used in Dark Messiah.
  10. Also, the Pokémon and Final Fantasy series. Abysmal storylines coupled with random encounters, hurrhh. I honestly don't understand how they've become so successful, other than that they're JRPGs.
  11. She has a hideous face. Hahah. Guys, her facial structure is pretty damn ideal, and has been ideal since like... the dawn of time. From looking at that picture, she has high brows, pronounced cheek bones and jaw, small nose, wide and big eyes, small forehead, I could go on. Saying her face is hideous just makes you sound like an angry internet nerd who's bitter because attractive girls never even bother to glance your way. Christ. :P None of you would pass on her.
  12. You're kidding? Oh man, you definitely should, you'd really appreciate the games. Like, really. Do it now. 14,99 for the Max Payne Bundle on Steam, go go. Like it says in the article, the game is designed so that you won't have to use the cover system if you don't want to. If you want to duck behind covers and take the villains out that way, you can do that - but if you want to run into the fight in slow-mo, guns blazing and shells flying around you, like in the other games, you can do that as well. I quite like cover systems personally, as long as they don't make up the entire freaking game á la Gears of War, which apparently won't be the case with Max Payne 3. :) Rainbow Six: Las Vegas did it right. Also... Best "breaking the fourth wall" moment ever.
  13. Think you misunderstood the question.
  14. The first one was one of the few "comic made movie" I've thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely looking forward to the sequel.
  15. "Since leaving the NYPD and New York itself behind, Max has drifted from bad to worse. Double-crossed and a long way from home, Max is now trapped in a city full of violence and bloodshed, using his weapons and instincts in a desperate search for the truth and a way out." Okay, so here's what we know so far: - Max Payne is older, balder and more cynical than before. He's also got a painkiller addiction. - Max Payne 3 will be set in Sao Paulo, Brazil. - The game will feature Bullet Time. - The game will feature a cover system, but it will not be the focus of the game. - You will be able to take human shields. - There will be a "shoot your killer and survive" mechanic. - It will use the NaturalMotion, RAGE and Euphoria engines (yess!). - It will be released on Xbox360, PS3 and PC. Oh and here's how Max looks nowadays: I'm pretty psyched about this game, especially the "shoot your killer and survive" mechanic which sounds very interesting. Imagine taking a bullet from someone standing behind you, and while the screen starts turning black and you begin to stumble down, you spin around and place a bullet in his head á la Leslie Coffelt, giving you enough of an adrenaline rush to survive and quickly run for cover. It will undoubtedly add more epic "action film" moments (as if the MP games weren't shockful of them already). It sounds like some of the neo-noir feel will be lost in this one though, which is a bit of a bummer - but I trust Rockstar will be able to make it feel like a Max Payne game nonetheless. I really loved the MP 1 and 2 games, so I will no doubt be buying this as well. I'm also very happy about their choice of engines.
  16. Oh god yes. Also (internet) memes, "House" and Eurovision. I refuse to believe anybody under the age of 40 watches the latter unironically and sober.
  17. Goon Squad on Sporeggar. :3 It's horde though. I need to activate my account again this week. I started a Druid on Sporeggar, rl friend is helping me level. Seems like a decent server although GS being best guild on server is [bleep] up. Not the best guild on the server, it's the best horde guild though. But unlike the other guilds that are ahead of GS, GS is still very casual. Nobody is required to raid or PvP. If all you want to do is fish or level alts all day, you're more than welcome to. As long as you log in once every 2nd month. :P I think I'm done with WoW for now though. I haven't played for a couple of weeks and my game time has run out. I'm too busy with other stuff right now to find any time to play.
  18. Because in L4D2 it will be easier for people to mod [cabbage]. Lots of usermade content being made = less repetition.

    Sims 3

I've got a sim now who works in the music industry, is banging his boss who is filthy rich and has a husband. She also has a kid who for some reason hates me. Maybe because we keep doing it on the bottom floor while they're in the house. I want me a sugar momma (my sim is a mooch). 8-) I think my next sim is gonna be an insane neurotic kleptomaniac - who is "neat" because damn if it isn't tiring to manually have to click on everything to make them clean it.
  20. They're still going to keep releasing DLCs for that one. I dunno, after reading that they weren't all that happy with L4D, it makes sense that they'd start working on a new one instead of wasting a lot of money and energy on releasing huge patches with all these design changes. I just hope the gameplay videos we've seen doesn't feature the final weapon and character models. The white suit arms of the guy they're playing as look downright awful, and the shotgun model looks way too small and is just a really bad model overall. Also why the hell won't they just implement iron sights already?! Killing Floor got it exactly right: iron sights and no crosshair whatsoever. You either zoom in with the iron sight, or do it "shoot from the hip" style and hope you hit something. It adds tons more crazyness and overall intensity to the gameplay.
  21. Am I the only one who would feel incredibly dorky flapping about while trying to conduct an awkward convo with some computer generated character (in english)? This technology is incredibly cool and all, it really is, but hell, I'd never in a million years play one of these games. Then again, I feel the same way about the Wii and it turns out a lot of people like this sort of stuff, so I dunno. I'll stick to my mouse and keyboard anyway. Damn kids, get off my lawn etc.
  22. Uhm okay, this was pretty unexpected, right? L4D has been out a bit more than half a year, and they announce a sequel already? I was kinda hoping they would work on and improve the current one for a few years at least. Feels like the current one was just a demo. The trailer looks fantastic though, and I like Valve so I will of course buy this.
  23. Goon Squad on Sporeggar. :3 It's horde though. I need to activate my account again this week. you have to be a goon to get into a goon guild dont you? That, or know a goon who can vouch for you.
