  1. Which Cynic album would you say is the best? They have both Focus and Traced In Air on Spotify, Traced In Air worked fine but if you try to listen to Focus you get some connection problem alert message. I loved Traced In Air though, however it costs 10eur more than Focus on the site I order my CDs. :( EDIT: Nevermind! Focus works fine now, haha. Giving it a listen.
  2. The Mars Volta - Televators. I'd forgotten how much I love this song.
  3. Yeah, that would work. However, it's so much simpler to just click "Wait here for some time", lean back and wait for us to start war with another kingdom. I'll probably do what you suggested though unless we start a war real goddamn soon. Also, thanks OldJoe for posting some more info on the new expansion. It sounds really sweet.
  4. If the prisoners are regular troops (i.e. not lords or kings) then you can either sell them to slave traders, try to recruit them to your army (although this will reduce the party morale a bit), or if you own a castle you can put them in the garrison and recruit them later or whatever. If you capture a lord then someone will eventually try to buy them from you (usually a few 1000 denars). In other news I just defeated the Khergit Khanate. No more annoying mounted archers! However my kingdom isn't at war with anybody right now, so I've got nothing to do... so I'm mostly just chilling in Narra... been there for over one month now. It sucks that I can't start wars myself; even though I've been appointed marshal twice in a row now. Ugh.
  5. Biker Mice From Mars was seriously awesome as well. [yt]Bt-aib0zqDY[/yt]
  6. Here's the entire piece: And here's him reading it. I've always really liked it.
  7. Stumbled upon the site almost 7 years ago looking for quest guides. Registered an account a while later to sell stuff on the marketplace forums... then somehow ended up becoming a regular at the Media board, and later ventured into OT where I've remained when I stopped playing the game. I guess I stay for the familiar faces? So to speak.
  8. I think there are serious moral issues that come into play with a videogame that condones raping small children and forcing them to have abortions. It's when you bring sexuality and especially children into the picture that things get way more sensitive and awkward. You will not see anything revolving around killing small children in any popular games today; children are off-limits, period. Another thing is that "killing" has always been a natural part of videogames, whether it's entailed jumping on your enemies' heads or simply shooting them in the head, it's always been there. So we've obviously become quite desensitized to that whole concept over time. I don't think there's any deep underlying "meaning" to be made from that though, it's just entertainment. I however can't help but think that there's gotta be a somewhat twisted mentality behind the sort of people who find it entertaining to play a rape simulator, which is all about stalking and raping a family - I mean, you can even "make out the glistening tears" in their faces as you attack and rape them. I don't see many popular games that get that disturbingly detailed today. On a slightly different note I've never seen a country more apologetic towards pedophilia than Japan.
  9. Now I know where my friend got this name from and why she insists on calling me this, thanks. On-topic I mainly watched Swedish shows obviously. Fem Myror är fler än Fyra Elefanter (five ants is more than four elephants) was great, very educational and fun to watch. Also a lot of Astrid Lindgren's books-made-into-TV-series: Pippi Långstrump, Emil i Lönneberga, Saltkråkan. I also remember watching the dubbed versions of Rocko's Modern Life, Eek! Real Monsters, Ed, Edd & Eddie, Cow & Chicken etc., but I was like 8-10 years old then so I wasn't very little.
  10. Apparently one guy has been charged: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/st ... 22,00.html POLICE have charged a 39-year-old Gippsland man over the Churchill bushfire, which has killed at least 21 people. "The man was arrested in his home town yesterday and was charged with arson causing death, intentionally or recklessly causing a bushfire and possessing child pornography." What a stand-up guy. Also, this is goddamn scary: terrifying sound of bush fire No wonder people decided to get out in the last minute before the burning Fires of Hell got near them. Jesus christ.
  11. Some of my fondest memories come from Runescape. It was actually pretty damn fun back when it was 2D and I played it with a bunch of friends from school. It's not a good game in any stretch of the word though. I also liked the first Neverwinter Nights game and the 60-hour long campaign, it was pretty damn epic even though I hate the engine they used (the NWN 2 engine is terrible as well). Oh yeah and Tribes 2, oohh so much fun!
  12. Order online? I haven't bought CDs in a store in years.
  13. Except not really. Basically every internet-humour related image or video you see - save for the mudkipz crap and pedobear - came from SomethingAwful years before 4chan even existed.
  14. It's pretty much universally agreed on that he steals jokes, so I guess nobody's bothered writing a detailed article on it. So you won't find much proof that isn't videos. People he's stolen from include Steve Martin, Demetri Martin, Louis C.K and probably a lot of other people. Or in Dane Cook's case: steal other peoples' material, and say them louder.
Torsk på Tallinn has so many great quotes, same with Percy Tårar. Jonas Indes's characters are always excellent. Hehe, it was only a matter of time. And I'm not surprised it was you. I'll take this as a compliment. Happy v-day!
  16. Probably cause he's an unfunny douche who steals jokes. I've never even cracked a smile at any performances of his I've seen.
  17. Killinggänget, Robert Gustafsson and Arrested Development. I don't really like one-man standup anymore, but I have to say a few Swedish comedians do it very well.
  18. What file and line did you edit? Because I definitely agree that it's annoying as hell. I just helped the Vaegirs out with a massive Khergit battle (I'm dead set on wiping these [bleep]ers out first thing), 500 vs their 460 or something. We beat them, but 6 of their 10 lords managed to escape. I almost cried. Anyway, after getting my [wagon] handed to me in a siege, I had to start building up a new army from scratch (save for 6 heroes). I have to say it's starting to look pretty damn impressive now. A bunch of Nord footmen (huscarls, once again, rule), Vaegir archers and 40 or something Hired Blades. I've got over 10 heroes as well with some sweet gear. All in all 138 troops. And I managed to find a Masterwork Sword of War in the marketplace! The best 2H weapon in the game - bought it for 15k denars. It has a reach of 130 and 95 in speed. It's just ridiculous how awesome it is. :P This, together with my Lordly plate armour and Lordly plate gloves (both for 80k+ denars), I'm pretty hard to knock down at the moment!
  19. I used to download quite a lot of music a few months ago, but have pretty much stopped with that altogether now thanks to Spotify. I've always bought albums though since, like people have said, I love having the physical copy with the album art and everything. Plus I don't feel like I own an album if I have downloaded it. Don't think I have ever said "yeah I have that one" about an album that I've downloaded, I just say I've heard it. Nowadays I just search for an artist on Spotify, listen through a few of their albums and then order one (or more) of them. But since I'm on a pretty tight budget at the moment, I only manage to buy maybe 4 CDs a month (compare that to a while ago when I bought 10 CDs one month and then 20 more a few days after). I always listen to the entire albums though. I get somewhat annoyed when some of my mates always feel the need to switch to the "best" songs all the time.
  20. Azvareth

    Twilight.

"But ~?Edward Cullen?~ is so dreamy " seems to be the gist of it really. However, you couldn't expect her, a connoisseur of fine literary works such as Pride and Prejudice, to admit that she reads sub-standard literature from a quack author. No, she obviously sees something in these books that us scrubs simply cannot grasp with our inferior minds. Seriously now, these are the same kind of people/tweens who are currently petitioning for the character of Joker to be retired from movies permanently. The reason being that no one will ever be able to do a better job than Heath Ledger. Also, I must say that swooning over a fictional character for 5 hours is completely healthy.

    Twilight.

I'm still trying to decide if you're serious or being a very sneaky troll. shes being serious :| Yeh, guilty. Well, for a teen romance it is anyways. But that's cos' i haven't read any other romances. XD Which begs the question, have you read any other literature period?
  22. Letter opener?I got a replica of Tizona Del Cid as a letter opener.Present from a fellow AoEII:Conquerors player. No, it's a life-sized one... a bit over 1m I think. I have tons of those letter openers too though, I always bought a new one whenever I traveled abroad as a kid.
  23. That's great. Good to see that major businesses like that can show some compassion. While on the subject, donating money really helps. Here are some exciting links: The Red Cross http://www.redcross.org.au OR http://redcross.org.nz for NZ people The Salvation Army http://www.salvos.com.au OR https://secure.salvationarmy.org/ for Non-Aussie people (make sure you put Victoria Australia Bushfires in the specific use field!) Wildlife Victoria appeal. http://www.wildlifevictoria.org.au/...apper&Itemid=43 Bendigo Bank Bushfire appeal. http://www.bendigobank.com.au/publi...ppeal_feb09.asp Country Fire Association http://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/about/sup...a.htm#donations Click the link to find the details for your local regional office. The Only issue is that these offices are probably pretty busy right now. I just donated $20 to the Red Cross. Remember, every cent helps!
  24. I'm too tired to look through the entire thread again to see if this has been posted, but this has heaps of photos of the fires and their implications. Definitely gave me chills. http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2009/0 ... trali.html Also, from Sky news (not sure how up-to-date this is however): Latest numbers 570 burns victims 78 admitted to hospital 20 in critical condition 181 is still the official number of dead, but this is still expected to rise Largest fire still burning is over an area of 100000ha
