  1. I was watchin' CNN about the new Discovery Channel documentary on in 2 or 3 days about the people who apparently believe they've discovered Jesus' tomb (well, the entire family) out by Jerusalem or somethin'. I was just wondering what all the religious and non-religious people though about this. So far, from what I understand, there are arguments for an against it which both make sense... Against it: 1.) Obviously can't prove it's Jesus with DNA, because there is no sample of Jesus' DNA on record. 2.) Jesus was from Nazareth, which is 60 miles away from Jerusalem. (He did travel though, so that hardly matters.) 3.) Names on the tomb were "common" names back then. For it: 1.) The enscriptions on the tomb says "Jesus, son of Joseph" along with "Mary Magdalene", "Joseph" and what is believed to be Jesus' and Mary's child, which I believe they said was named "Josia" or something. 2.) As common as the names were, the chances of them all being in the same tomb, with "Jesus" and "Mary" not being a genetic match is very small. 3.) Mary and Jesus' DNA did not match, meaning the bodies in the tomb were married, not related. 4.) I didn't hear any word on this, but it could easily be dismissed by them testing the child with Jesus' and Mary's DNA, if they match, it's their child and further supports it (but doesn't prove it), but if they don't match, it debunks it pretty much right away. However, the chances of it NOT being their child are very small, considering that they were the only "Parents" in the tomb...I believe they said Joseph was in it too, but I could be mistaken, and even if he was, he would have been a grand parent. What do ya'll think about this? Obviously, it would always be speculation and circumstancial evidence and could never be fully proven that it is THE Jesus and THE Mary, but if it were "true" in the sense that it could be proven, it would rock the foundations of the Christian faith, seeing as the entire religion is based around the physical ressurection and ascension into Heaven of Jesus Christ, and...Umm, Jesus' body in the tomb was still there. So if it were to be him, it would mean Christianity is bunk. Of course, like I said, though, it can never be proven it is actually THE Jesus...But the chances that all these people were buried together and had NOTHING to do with the other family of the same names is very small. My views are this - I think it's odd that right away there were Christians freaking out saying that there was NO WAY it was the same Jesus and that it was just a big ole' fraud. However, if they found this tomb and everyone's body was there, but Jesus' body was gone, they'd be praising it and worshipping it as "proof" of the entire story being true. It's like how people believe this is a bunk story, but people still believe the Shroud of Turin is absolutely real. Noone finds it odd, for example, the the image on the cloth looks JUST like the paintings of Jesus which were not made at ANY time even close to when Jesus was alive. Noone knows what Jesus looked like, not even the original painter, yet the image on the cloth looks JUST like what we depict as Jesus, and we know it's a fraud due to it's age anyways. *Shrug* What do you think about it?

Pault is slowly (actually, pretty quickly) getting extremely annoying. Everything is a conspiracy and the end of America to him. Here, dude...Here's an idea...Stop reading conspiracy websites. Especially when you're reading many at once. It will literally make you insane. The people who write them are speculating. Yes, when there is no oil, the world will freak out, but that day won't come for many many decades, and by then, it's VERY likely an alternative will be in place. The have buses in California and stuff that run on 100% hydrogen, for example. It's slow, but it's a process. Also, the market dropped 4%. It didn't "Crash" or "Plummet", and it was all a direct result of the ASIAN stock market taking a dive itself. And now today, I'm hearing it's already gone back up 2%. It'S FINE. EVERYTHING IS OKAY.

Please, if you think the Bible has NO contradictions, do yourself a favor and type "Bible contradictions" into Google and click the first site you see. Or the second. Or 44,000th. It really doesn't matter, because people have whole websites dedicated to pointing them out. But of course, like the last guy here I explained it to, he simply said "They took it out of context or are lying" without reading the website. They're direct quotes from the Bible...How can you take that out of context? They're not things you can take out of context. Numbers of things, people, blah blah. Go look it up. Astra, anyone else who thinks it's some infallible book. Have you ever even read the thing or what? It's horribly obvious it was written by several humans with apparently no inspiration from a devine being. It's almost as if the stories were passed on to them and they desided to write them down, "telephone game" mistakes and all.
  4. Yea, except the Bible says that Satan doesn't have the power to reward, and even he himself will be punished...Or is being currently, whatever. Worshipping Satan would be a one-way ticket to that same treatment, and where is the reward there? That's simple. Satanists (well, Laveyans) don't believe in christianity or the christian satan per se; they see satan as a symbolism of sorts who represents all of the so called 'sins' which, in thier philosophy (and, arguably, in reality [with the opposition of an obvious few, so don't rip my head off please]) all lead to physical and mental gratification. So to put all of that more simply, satanists believe the reward is in life, as there is no afterlife. Yea, I get that. But then why the HELL did they bother calling it Satanism? It has nothing to do with Satan except that Satan is also an indulger and whatnot. Who cares? So are fat people. Why not call it Gluttonism if that's all it is? :P And "Why shouldn't people worship Satan if they can worship God?", well duh. God is the deity you're supposed to worship and have a reward. Worshipping Satan gets you nothing but eternal torment. Satan has no powers and got his [wagon] stomped by God for being a trifflin' little biabia. So you can either worship [bleep]-boy and get nothing, neither in life nor death, or you can worship the one who kicked [bleep]-boy's butt AND get a reward!
  5. Some people are just going to have to face that we were meant to eat meat AND plants. Just because that little piggie is cute doesn't mean we shouldn't eat him. And that's all it is..."Aww, but he's so cute...We shouldn't kill that..." No, shut up. Yes, we should. We shouldn't torture it to death, but removing it's head firmly from it's body and then making bacon isn't wrong.

If my kid did that, he would have gotten chained to a pole and beaten with a stick. Srsly. And I'm not even a violent person. I would just be so astonished that my kid was THAT stupid that I would have to try to beat it out of him. I'd just be compelled to see if when I hit him, if the stupid would physically manifest itself and fly out. Honestly, who the hell would tear down a bathroom? *The above was written for humor mostly, don't quote me saying I'm horrible, I'll just point out how much of a D-bag you are.* Anyways...My sister got caught smoking pot when we were younger. My parents always told us if they caught us doing drugs/smoking that they'd make us eat whatever we were smoking, and then we'd be grounded until we were 18. They always seemed serious, so I stayed away from such things, but when they finally caught my sister, all she got was yelled at. It wasn't even that bad, I stood there for the whole thing and when they were finally done I said "THAT'S IT?!", literally. I was mad. :P

Are you implying the BBC was in on it too, or what? Come on people. Lets get a little real here. Conspiracy theorists act like EVERYONE in the world knew about it but them. Truth is, if anyone knew this was going to happen, it was noone in the Bush administration, it was those in the government ABOVE the government, and essentially, those people do not exist, so there's noone to blame. Furthermore, noone BUT them would have known about it, and you'll never hear otherwise until some aging dude finally spills the beans because he felt guilty. By that time, noone will care. Edit: And I'lls econd what Ashkayu said. The guy who made "Loose Change" was allowed to live, for example, and he spoke out blaming the government entirely. If the government had no problem killing 3,000 people, they surely would have no problem killing him, and probably his family just for good measure and the trouble it caused them just to go find him. A building got raped. We took advantage of it by creating an adgenda around it. Were some people behind it in our government? No. Noone in our government could be trusted with that knowledge. It's kinda' like how George Bush, who holds the most powerful position in our government, can't get into places like Groom Lake Air Force Base (Area 51). He just can't go in there. If he rolled up in his SUV, they would shoot him on site, I gaurentee it. If anyone knew about it, it was people above our government, and at that point, who cares? There's noone to blame, then, is there? Because those people don't even exist to most people.

How about violence whist dishing out clever insults? Yes! This goes hand in hand with what we in the industry call "buckling the swash"! Arrrr, matey. Ye' runts can go swab the poop deck, btw. imo. g2g. qq.
  9. "Survival of the Fittest" hasn't applied to humans for many many years now. If you have something medically wrong with you, chances are they can fix it or at least make it better. Cancer is a severe genetic flaw, if you will, but people with cancer survive all the time. Humans always over-come natural selection due to their technology. Humans are perhaps some of THE weakest, most defenseless creatures on this Earth, but as soon as their technology comes into play (anything from stone tools/weapons, to a satellite guided laser beam pewpew missle), they become one of the strongest. We're not working on perfecting the human genome, we're working on fixing the ones that aren't perfect...Which is every single one. I'd dare to say that you, or anyone here, couldn't look at themselves at themselves and not find something wrong...Intellectually, physically, or health-wise. It's just what humans do best...Using technology to make the best of our extremely sad situation.
  10. Noone has "good genes"...Everyone has at LEAST one thing you could consider "wrong" about them. Like me...I like myself, but my father passed a crappy skin gene to me. Meaning, my skin is less-elastic than most peoples. It's only a problem if you're overweight (stretch marks) which I'm not, but still, it could be considered a "bad" gene. I think he means genes of people who are...Umm...You know, stupid. You know who I'm talking about. The family with 10 kids and no income but welfare. Those kinda' people. :P
  11. Uh, I'm 20... When I was 16 I could bench my own body weight (210ish), but after several years of being lazy, I'm now 185 and bench like 150...Just started working out a few weeks ago so I'll get there eventually... As for squats, right now I'm only doing 150 because we don't have a squat bar yet (will in a couple days I think) and I can't really do more without the risk of tripping or something...Just playing it safe for now. :P 150 is easy, I'm sure I could do 200-250...When I was 16 I could do much more than that. Word to the youngins'...Don't be lazy. :P I was naturally muscular thanks to my uber-genes, but laziness made me lose about 20 pounds of muscle, and gaining 20 pounds of muscle back takes about a year if you work hard. Boooo. :P I do so wish we had an actual machine though, like a BowFlex or something. I absolutely despise free-weights. Very uncomfortable. We have an olympic bench set and those Select-tech dumbells right now (which rule, btw. :P) /rambleoff?
  12. Yea, the last 3 games covered the levels in GTA1...The next rational thing you'd think they would do is a GTA: London, because that was a part of GTA1 aswell. I, personally, think that will be the case, but hope to God is won't be, because...Well, Euro-cars suck. I hate how they look. :P

Yea, it's all a bunch of chaos. Religious people like to argue, too, that explosions cannot create order (perhaps why they say the Big Bang is BS) but even the "order" in the Universe isn't orderly. It just happens to be that gravity pulled things into a little system. It's still goin' all over hell with no control.
  14. Man, just seeing old iron ores and a guy in addy/mith/rune med brings back so many memories. Me and my rl bud spent weeks just trying to get rune armor and stuff...I remember the day he quit...He got hacked and the hacker asked to borrow my rune legs and I let him...Only time in RS I've ever been "scammed"...Can't blame me really, I was level 40-ish and that stuff just didn't happen often back then. :P

Macroevolution has never been "proved" because you can't really make an experiment of it. It takes more time than we have. However, MICROevolution has been proven over and over and over, and even religious fundamentalists say "Yes, it does happen, it is a fact."...What gets me is that they WILL believe in microevolution because the proof is there and it's documented to happen in nature all the time, but they won't believe in macroevolution because we haven't seen it in nature in recorded scientific history. They will, however, believe in an invisible deity without any proof whatsoever. *Boggle* Edit: Oh, and why argue against the Big Bang? The Big Bang, weither religious people will ever wake up and realize or not, actually SUPPORTS the theory that God created the Universe. How else does one snap something into existence? Just say "Huzzah!" and it's there? Well we know that didn't happen, because the Universe is on the move; galaxies are on the move. Everything is on the move. However, God could have just snapped his fingers and made "nothing" (as religious people like to call it, mocking scientists) explode into the Universe.

  17. Power was goin' out a few times yesterday in Minnesota. Looks pretty snowy/icy outside, but it isn't more than like 5 or 6 inches.
  18. If anyone has an alliance character on Perenolde and would like to trade 50g for 50g on Horde, I'd be grateful. :P PM mehz!
  19. Umm, do they ever show anything but Cortanna's face? I haven't beat either Halo, but all I ever saw was her face. Even then, it's not like he's dressed like a hooker, is she? I doubt it.
  20. One time...I took a bite of a cheese burger. Then it ran and Xed out on a Black Knight 'cause it said I was haxing. True story.
  21. Yes, Lordkrohn. Blame it all on those "liberals" when you know damn well that plenty of conservative morons voted for amnesty. Hey, look! It's George Bush! There goes one now!
  22. Street cred, duh Hard to have any cred in a Honda. :P Do whatever you want to it. Just hope you know that it'll void your warrenty.
  23. Once in a blue moon he would skull but he wasnt really dissed to bad for it because he never came on forums talking [cabbage] like people that 3 itemed like swifty mcvay at level 110 or supa vegeta who 3 itemed til 99 hp at black nights. I kinda' liked him. I think he had some pretty crazy stats, or something. I attacked him once just for the hell of it and he kicked my [wagon]. That was on my impure main who was a few levels lower than him, but I was told he had like 90 some strength at level 80-something, whatever he was. 87? I dunno'. Funny stuff though. Bald head and a wizard hat. :P
  24. I don't understand why anyone would worship Satan. By worshipping Satan, you're acknowledging that God does infact exist and thereby you are automatically going to Hell, soooo...Why would you even bother...?
