  1. They got changed so that more mods would be online during peak hours, that way they would appear to have more of an impact on the audience. (Instead of only being on during BST day time) But plenty of the community mods didn't like that change in hours.
  2. Hope someone takes pics/vids of whatever this is please? (Gone camping!) It would be cool if this was some sort of "show off new items/emotes" thing. Or like show off new player outfits. Doubt it though.
  3. I like the idea of Bilrach being possessed (slightly?) But it has driven him partially insane because his real mind is trying to "win" and kick out the possessed. What if moia kills him, and whatever possessed bilrach gets her? (Presumably through the portal magics)
  4. Oh God, I know right? So many places to screw up and no way to try again without starting over at hte last check point.
  5. I agree with you. This is something interesting, and potentially big. Strange that it is in game. I like that world map though! Looks like something out of CIV4-CIV5 This is making me reaaally curious. Too bad I'll be gone :(
  6. Too bad the first checkpoint isn't until *after* that first memory game. Took forever to nail down precisely where to click for memories :(
  7. Yeah, this is also true of broken-fixed sets, because Jagex's pricing system is dumb. Items should decrease/increase in price partly based on how much sales they have (so that if there are GE offers sitting waiting to sell, but no one is buying that item at all, then the price goes down slightly). That would allow tracking more closely with supply and demand. It would also be insanely more complex to develop such a system without breaks etc.
  8. Advertisements work not because people click on them, but because they are pervasive and we assume that they have no effect on us. This is not true. Advertisement isn't about getting clicks. The thing the advertisement companies want to see is people who say they can simply ignore the advertisements.
  9. The problem people have when someone says "making armor is not the right way" is because lots of people do 1-2 floors at at time, and prefer to max their xp/floor instead of xp/hour. This is wrong because xp/hr is what you actually care about in the end. If a floor takes you 40minutes, and gets you 100k xp, it is worse than two floors that takes you 15-20 minutes and give at least 50k xp each. If I do one floor a day, (no more), and I have the time to spend 2 extra minutes making armor, and it gets me more xp, it can be good advice in a particular situation. (Not everyone does tons of floors at once, for example, I did a floor last night, and it could've taken less time if i had died. However, I made one piece of armor and survived with no deaths. So I got less xp/hr, but I wasn't going to do more floors, and was getting off right after anyways) Also,Quyneax, making armor can prevent more than 1 death. Especially if the floor takes longer already. (For example a 5:5 where there is someone else who is incompetent/slow/whatever). I agree with your point though: taking a death on purpose to save time is good dungeoneering. The goal is to make your deaths matter more than they hurt.
  10. If you have a bone crusher, do falconry :) I find it more enjoyable than salamanders.
  11. ... "First set of occults"? What does that mean?
  12. :ohnoes: Wow, that would be brilliant! I really can't wait till update day!!!
  13. Honestly wish they would remove world hop times... Apparently it was only there to prevent hogging resources, which I don't feel is a huge problem anymore.
  14. I suggest doing geysers if you are planning on using 100% blue charms for effigies. If you are planning on using crimsons as the main source (via gathering at something like waterfiends?) and blues as you get them, I would use them on moss titans. Geysers are a lot more expensive for a fairly low gain. But blues are hard to collect. Personally I did geysers, but I didn't realize how much cheaper moss titans were. Due to collecting your own obsidian charms.. I don't like doing that. But if you do, it would be better than geysers. TLDR; Geysers if you already have money. Moss titans if you need/want to save GP and plan on gathering non-blues as well.
  15. It could be because your hardware is different, or your operating system is different. The reasons for the lag appear to be almost random, not really based on particular hardware or anything like that. The number of variables is incredibly high.
  16. The auto-mute should be very simple to implement, but I'm sure every change gets figured out and worked around. Basically I think it should just progressively lower the rate at which the PMs are actually sent. (based on factors like has that player had any contact with you, content of message, how many people you spam over the course of a few seconds etc) I am sure something stronger than what they do now is possible.
  17. As an individual skill RC is faster than effigies, (assuming you don't care about anything but rc skills.) I don't think we have strong data in regards to the current effigy rates though.. My guess would be that runespan will be fast enough to be worth considering, but effigies will always matter.
  18. I think it will be some sort of teaser. I don't think anything else makes sense. A full on update for anything doesn't make sense. It will be something kinda cool I imagine though.
  19. Alright then.
  20. Yeah. It's a very weird issue, because the obfuscation is handled differently in different systems.
  21. Pretty sure they have two bots, one that scans for names (not necessarily in game) and one that PMs. There are also ones that spam anyone who runs through crowded areas.
  22. What if its content that doesn't need a server reset? (Similar to how bonus xp weekend starts)
  23. :( I liked this being sticky. There are still sometimes hidden updates. But usually the big ones get discussed in other topics. I do miss being able to hunt through here for the equivalent of patch notes. (Pre-patch note era ofc)
  24. Ohgod. You jinxed it now. I mean, I like dungeoneering, but I really don't want Player Owned Ports to be like that. I imagine that this will be interesting with a combination of interactive and "set-and-forget" material. We know it will probably include various "go out and hunt for designs" sort of tihngs where the reward is an unlockable item upgrade or something. It could be very interesting.
  25. Advertisement works by bombarding you with images you don't want. It isn't the best model, (figuring out what you want and showing you that is probably more effective) but it works very well and has lots of precedent. My guess is that they aren't likely to be sophisticated enough to implement that method though..
