I think that at the moment in the UK we have the best government we have ever had. That may sound quite stupid of me to say because it is only the second one that i have lived under and the first one that i have been old enough to understand aspects of it but i have spoken to like my teachers and parents ect about previous governments. The economy has had continuous growth and has got out of the Boom-recession cycle so there hasn't been a recession for 10 years. I reckon Gordon Brown is actually awesome. I still think the Iraq war was a mistake but it was a dilemma (sp?) in the first place so it was a lose lose situation before they went in in the first place. I think it is good that Brown is gong to be the next PM because he deserves a chance at it and Tony Blair is starting to look old and tired although he has been a brilliant PM. but yeh...Good luck to Gordon Brown :thumbsup:

That I agree is absurd if we don't have a National Holocaust remembrance day, the museum needs to get on it. I dont know about america but here in the UK there is deff a holocaust memoria day. I dunno what day it is but at my school they used to always play schindler's list.

My sister is 18 - 2 years older than me. Sometimes she is sound but others she is a pain in the arse - the latter is unfortunately the majority of the time.

Our society and the Swiss society may differ but if they can have guns and maintain one of the world's lowest crime rates, then we can. Psycho people will not go around killing people if they know they could be killed just as easily by any person they try to shoot. As I said, even in America in a small city in Georgia, everyone has a gun, and that city is the safest in the country. It's like drugs, there's no way to stop it. And would you rather there be an underground black market in America for guns? That won't change anything, it will make the situation worse because the criminals will hold the advantage, and no one will be able to defend and they will die. In America, with a ban it will just make guns more predominate on the black market, more expensive no doubt, but it will be huge. The swiss dont just 'have guns' though they have this whole training programme thing that they do a few days a year and other stuff look.

I understand the lab testing end, but dieng to destroy the eco-system seems a little odd. I mean ban meat-eating and hunting for humans. The animals can do it because they don't slaughter each other by the thousands, after raising those thousands in horrible conditions. If we reverted to hunting with our bare fists and only eating what we and our family members caught, that would be more balanced. Besides, it's perfectly easy for a human to get by without meat. You bloody nancy. What about free range meat? Then the animals get a nice happy life before you eat them :P But to be honest im so against animal rights it's unbelievable. Humans are just so much better than animals :thumbsup: Sorry for going off topic.

Does Britain border Mexico, Central America, and South America? No. Does America? Yes. Where do most of the drugs/illegal weapons come from? Those exact places I mentioned, it will be easy to get them here with or without gun laws rather than in Britain, which is an island. But smuggling of weapons from Eastern Europe is rife. The situation isn't as bad as what it would be in the US, I agree, but there are still a hell of a lot of firearms being smuggled into the country across the channel. Dont forget the Welsh either i mean bloody hell! joking

Im not too sur but i think that technically yes but it's highly unlikeys that youll be punished for roughing up a robber a bit - as long as you don't do them serious damage as in beating them half to death. And i don't reckon you deserve to be shot just for robbing really.

Not at all, that was just a stupid example of how statistics can say a lot of things when in reality there are far more factors that affect them. It wasn't serious. Yes i know, even said, that there are far more factors but i'm trying to say that gun laws/restrictions are one of, if not the biggest factors. I do know what your getting at but i just believe that those statistics show more than you give them credit for.

Nothing to do with ruptured appendix but i had septicimia. No idea how i got it but i just woke up feeling so grotty so my mum got me an emergency doctors appointment and he sent me straight to hospital - he thaught i might have meninjitus (sp?). I spent a night in hospital but after the antibiotics kicked in I wasn't so bad exept it made me lose my appetite so i dropped like a stone in a week.
