  1. As said above, it's just a server strain as everyone who has an Xbox 360 (which I assume is quite a few million) is downloading the update. Not just Runescape, but on any game or mmorpg, when a new update comes out, it takes bandwidth on the server to deliver the new updates to players, making your casual connections a bit slow.
  2. ahh, gonna miss it! You guys have a site? What is it? The url is disclosed to staff members only :) Sorry!
  3. For the holidays, Project Onyx will be not be publishing this weekend as we settle into our holiday schedules. However, word is going around at the Project Onyx site is that we might just be presenting a rather special Christmas present... :-$ :-$ :-w :-w :-w :-w :-w Uber over-emoticon usage.
  4. It's not pointless, it's basically a way of saying either "Here. I died. Laugh at this shiny Angels of Death gravestone, you back-stabbing jerk. I died in honor.", or "lolz what nowz u think u get good stff but all u get is this sxpenve wouldn mrkr lolaz2211oneononeoneoneelevent". :P
  5. So why exactly did the price of almost every item increase by the exact same amount (1gp) at the exact same time this morning? When some of these items were already overpriced and have not sold at the minimum price since the release of the exchange? Jagex mods say a lot of things. Sorry! :( I was just trying to share what I knew on the topic! If what you say is correct however, it's proof on how Jagex now has complete control on the economy.
  6. That's the best way to get quick cash in the game; to buy/sell new things once they come out. The gravestone update, while small, still has me interested, as I can't help feeling that I've wanted an update of this like before. It'd be kind of neat to show off your kills, especially in the wilderness. I have a feeling the update won't be a material-based update like Construction items, it'll just be a buy-to-upgrade system with various types of graves.
  7. I"m not entierly sure that is correct, as when I had a conversation with a Jagex Mod, he stated that 'your items automatically reprice during a shift in the market price'.
  8. While it still is only a couple...years from release, I couldn't help but make a topic to see what people think about the idea of Animal Crossing Wii. Before you start flaming, "omfg u girl animal crozzing is 4 babies omg gmmgmgmg"; it is, of my knowledge, a game [Animal Crossing: Wild World] enjoyed by a fair amount of my Tip.It friends, and a good game to just simply relax and socialize in. I use it as a wireless, fun, and effective way to connect with far-away friends in a creative universe, not because I like to participate in the various mini-games. Ok. Maybe occasionally. I'm also interested in the fact that IGN reports the Japan release date is December 31st, but obviously we can't be sure. The American release date is TBA 2008. Discuss!
  9. By bad do you mean grammar and spelling? :P Anyways, have you convinced your parents yet?
  10. Thank you for being a part in my signature :XD:
  11. Lol, ironic much? :-s :shame: Nothing but. Anyways, glad you guys are enjoying the articles.
  12. Issue 2, Volume 1 | December 1st, 2007 This issue, we are very glad to have a guest writer, Qeltar, from Truthscape.com!(Green Saftey Rating) Shadowcheval Last Monday, Jagex introduced an update into RuneScape that many players had been waiting all of November for, the Grand Exchange. Now, I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll skip the description, because by now, I expect everyone to have been there at least once. But many have complained of the plus or minus five percent price range that was embedded within the GE. The complaints are valid to the point that 5% is too small, but it is necessary. Now, let me explain. When Jagex originally began planning the Grand Exchange, they probably decided on a 10% swing rate both ways. This is speculation, but I derive this number from Monopoly̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæand because it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s just an easy number to work with. Now, the important thing to remember is not the exact number for the swing rate, but that there was one. I sincerely believe that at no point did Jagex even consider making the GE a free and unregulated market. Why? Because a free market of the anonymous variety allows a small coalition of rich players to carefully and precisely drive the price of certain goods upwards. And I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m not even referring to the monopolies. Let me attempt to explain myself via an example. Let̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s assume that gold ore costs 40 gold. A group of rich, high level miners get together and decide that they want their gold to fetch higher prices. With the free and unhindered market, they would simply deposit a few million gps unto gold, and watch as the price of the gold skyrockets. Then, while the price is still shooting upward, they all quickly sell off their gold, resulting in a massive crash of gold prices. This would also affect crafters that rely on gold, and all jewelry, enchanted or otherwise. All of these items would crash in price from the flooding that would be produced. Under the GE, however, even if the miners decided to do this, it would take days, even weeks, before gold would become completely unprofitable. And monopolies are also counteracted under the GE. It would be very difficult for multiple rich players to quickly and effectively plunder a rare market like Santa hats or Halloween masks. No matter how frustrating it seems, I do not believe that Jagex will ever repeal the trading limit. They might extend it to perhaps 7% or 8%, but a full repeal would be completely contrary to the company̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s position thus far. All you can do is hope that the prices that have been set stabilize to normal prices. Qeltar First of all, anyone who has read my prior comments on the GE already knows what I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m going to say, so if you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re sick of my views on it you should probably skip this. Smile So many people who worry about what the GE would do if it were a real free market bring up this sort of scenario. In doing so, they ignore history, just as Jagex ignored history by instituting the controls in the first place. What you describe is called ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åcornering the market̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  13. How in heck did you get 11k? 0_0 You certainly are rich...or know more about these gamerscore-rich games 0_0
  14. What other newspapers? If I correctly recall, you wrote specifically in one of your articles the Project Onyx is a, how was it put? So certainly we're not a newspaper.
  15. Yea, I had to shrink it down to just 37 colors (barley stable signature) and it still was 100k, so I'm going to postpone it to next issue. I guess with those graphics, animation, and dynamic content it makes it pretty big :ohnoes: :uhh:  I know  Hopefully they'll be fixed by the second issue. :(

  17. Lol, I'm gonna start making sure these authors and info is legit before I start posting 'em. :-k Hehe, probably lol, and you asked where our article went? :P *cough*thenagain,weactuallyunderstandhowthegeworks*/cough*
  18. Just a notice, hawt new signatures are coming out second issue! (Had to postpone them, technical difficulties)
  19. I was about to ask[say] that same thing How ironic! I was about to ask the same thing about yours! I think unorclan took that off because I pointed out that the information upon which the article was based was false. Ah, thank you for clearing that up. Anyways, I removed it since I assumed the majority of people had already checked the GE out for themselves, and that most people had already read the article (we had over 100 views, and I just wrote the article for a guide for people who hadn't checked it out yet).
  20. I was about to ask[say] that same thing How ironic! I was about to ask the same thing about yours!
  21. As said above, the Grand Exchange is far from a money drain like construction. The money isn't removed from the game, but instead placed in another's hands.
  22. Project Onyx v2 is offering live coverage of the Grand Exchange, at the top of the issue, just minutes after the update!
