Issue 5, Volume 1 | January 10th, 2008 Click here to visit the Project Onyx Public site and forums! Click here to visit the enhanced IRC client for OnyxIRC! In this issue, you'll find a report on the hidden easter eggs, new chapters on all of the stories, reports on the CES 2008, and even a new Halo 3 comic series :o! 'Is it Easter already?' by Skill Caster In my personal opinion, Summoning has already been the coolest skills ever released, even before release, because Jagex incorporated so many hidden easter eggs. The first, and most popular, is the Pet Shop. While the door could not be opened or closed, and the squares inside had no 'Walk to' option; users could still peek at some of the interesting merchandise by running the game on low detail and either being on the city wall walkway, or by being on the second floor of the mage guild. A little while after it was snuck into the game, it was updated so that every few minutes, an old lady, the store owner, would walk out of the building with a pet bulldog by her side. Once the 4th Development Diary was released, a full view of the pet shop was revealed. Also inside was an egg incubator, which now explains the red, green, and blue eggs you can get from nests in woodcutting. Speaking of eggs, Jagex had also slyly released 3 new eggs, a raven's egg (obtained by nests), and then two others: penguin and vulture, that were obtained from the creatures themselves. Many other unconfirmed sightings of strange farming creatures and orange dots on the mini-maps were 'found', but we won't go into them as we aren't exactly sure they are legit. The last thing, and, most amazing, we have seen so far is the Karamthulhu. Despite the fact summoning isn't out, this creature/familiar can be picked up as a drop. Upon death, if you have 3 items over it, it will not just drop on the ground, but instead...be summoned, for a small matter of time. Jagex did state that this was not an intentional leak (via the RSOF), and now when you attempt to 'summon' it, you will get the following: What else will summoning behold for us? We'll just have to find out. I'm Skill Caster, Project Onyx News. [insert |low-tone|, |high-tone|, |medium tone| here] Chapter 5: The Meeting Shadowcheval Santran stepped through and found himself in a beautiful circular room. All of the walls were made of sapphires, and the door was made of deep green emeralds. There was also a table and chairs, made of rubies. On those chairs sat two other people. Santran recognized them immediately. There was the Ranald, the Minister of Trade, and Ranaldas, the Minister of Combat. Along with Santran, who was the Minister of Intelligence, they made up the Council of the RTG. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅWell look who finally decided to show up̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

I wouldn't exactly say that. Issue 4 of PO v1(.5) - Oct. 13, 2007 5.5 Weeks for Development of Project Onyx v2 (Which was indeed a big update) Issue 1 of PO v2 - Nov. 24, 2007 Exactly 1 Week Passes Issue 2 of PO v2 - Dec. 1, 2007 Week Passes, Preping the Site for v3 1 Week Passes Issue 3 (Holiday Issue) of PO v2 - Dec. 14, 2007 Holiday Break for the Staff/v3 Development The Present - Jan. 5, 2008 Obviously, we did not post for 5.5 weeks because of the development of v2, but I think everyone on the staff can agree that was time was worth it. Other than that, we've kept a decent schedule.

Err...thanks...I guess? :P I don't see why that would freak you out though, we publish every Saturday...that's our weekly choice of publishing. The GT choose the same day too. Weekly papers, online and IRL, usually publish on the weekend, and Saturday is sometimes called the 'middle' of the weekend, so...

Issue 4, Volume 1 | January 6th, 2008 Click here to visit the Project Onyx Public site and forums! Click here to visit the enhanced IRC client for OnyxIRC! Happy New Year! From all of us at Project Onyx, we wish you a happy New Year! We hope you have a wonderful 2008 and keep your New Year's Resolutions. Speaking of New Year's Resolutions, we at Project Onyx have decided to step up our game, and are unrolling a few new surprises right in this very issue! Welcome to Project Onyx v3! As the winter holidays were passing, the Project Onyx Development site was once again busy with a development of another version of the Project Onyx news portal. One change you may have already noticed is the 'leet' new OnyxLive widget. Similar to OnyxCast, it will allow you to see live little snippets of Project Onyx notifications or 'breaking news' alerts regarding in-game happenings. Another big change we will be introducing is - an open site! The staff have agreed to open a portion of the new Development site to the public, allowing readers to interact with the staff and paper more directly. Another very exciting feature on the site is the enhanced IRC client for OnyxIRC, so you can access OnyxIRC with one click, and also experience it in a user-friendly, advanced client. For more information, go to the site and check it out, or scroll down to the OnyxIRC section. v3 also will be marking the start of several behind-the-scenes projects that will soon appear in Project Onyx. We at Project Onyx wish you a happy new year. :) Enjoy the v3! Chapter 4: The Underground House Shadowcheval The house was incredibly vast. Its floors were covered with skins of numerous creatures, but in such a way that gave the room an imposing effect. These creatures ranged from bears to unicorns, and everything in between. If one were to look at them, one would get lost trying to figure out how many types there were. The walls were equally majestic. Paintings and that familiar symbol hung everywhere. At a wall near the door, there were little closets without doors, where the soldiers placed their armor after and before a battle. Santran saw that some were still placing their armor inside. He took Aryada to one of the empty ones and labeled it with her name. She understood immediately. As she was putting her new armor away, he went around the house. He still marveled that such an incredibly huge thing was underneath the Barbarian Tavern. He noticed that some of his squad was signaling to him, and he approached. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅSir, we̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re ready to redo our previous information. We were just waiting for you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

Finish The Year | Halo 3 Party | [Party Was Awesome!]
Skill_Caster replied to Skill_Caster's topic in Off-Topic
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the party tonight has been postponed; meaning it will take place 1 hour of its scheduled time. This means 8PM Eastern, 7PM Central, and 9PM Atlantic time. This will also give Xbox Live time to be worked on. -

I've sent out information messages regarding the event to the Xbox Live accounts of those who said they are/might come, CRAZY SEERS, I was unable to forward the message to you as it said your gamertag was invalid, and Rushrock, I need a gamertag from you to send you the info. Thanks! -
Seeing all the hype this afternoon I decided to go out and get it, and I must say, it's a brilliant game. If Xbox Live would just work right, dumb Microsoft... :wall:
-
Yea, you did :P Microsoft confirmed it's down, completly now, and also any Live account (meaning you can't sign in on any Live ID service, such as MSN). I was there to watch it slowly begin... Middle-Of-The-Night Last Night: No longer to connect to MSN via Xbox 360 Early This Morning Booted once randomly Present Unable to Connect :uhh: It's terrible if you go to the Xbox.com forums, people are ranting and whinnying their heads off because "microsoft cant even get basic connections right" acting like this happens all the time...Although admittedly it is some bad timing, with everyone getting new 360s, such as your case.
-
How the heck did you even get to Xbox.com? All of the gamertags on my PC desktop are messy with Server Errors now also.
-
I think (and pray to god) that today the Xbox Live service is having problems, because after $160 setup, my Live refusing to connect today isn't quite good news to me. I tried to go to Xbox.com to alert my friends of my problem, but the site is unavailable.
-
I think, while Falcon isn't confirmed yet, the majority of recent buyers of 360's have reported no RRoD (and I haven't gotten any on mine yet, and it runs on a pretty filled schedule :P).

An Xbox 360 Pro, Limited Edition Spartan Wireless Headset :o, Wireless Xbox Live Adapter, chatpad, extra controller, Halo 3, Forza Motorsport 2, Ultimate Alliance, and Test Drive Unlimited. I saved up for a couple months and had a very gamer's Christmas :P.

Maybe a friend could help! :D I just got mine yesterday, along with a year of Live, TDU, and Halo 3. 1.) Yes, the standard (which is referred to as the Xbox Live Arcade Console) comes with a controller, and that's about it. However, if you hurry now and get one that has the holiday bundle offer, your Arcade console will come with a memory card (which is a down-sized version of the HDD [harddrive]) that has an arcade game on it (like Pac-Man). You can find an official list of what each console does and doesn't have here. 2.) I would say yes. You don't necessarily need to go full out and buy the 120GB harddrive (why someone would need that much storage I'll never know), but the 20GB harddrive is essential if you want to save a lot of games, get a Live account and browse around on the market place. 3.) Each Xbox 360, even the arcade I think, comes with a 1-month trial of Xbox Live Gold, so you can see if you like it there. Personally in my opinion, it's where the great potential of the Xbox 360 lies. A Silver membership is free, and only requires a connection and a HDD, and it allows you to create a friends list, send voice and text, track your achievements, and access the marketplace. Now, if you want to play games online, or send video messages/chats, you'll have to 'go gold', buy: paying a monthly subscription of $7.99; buying a month for $7.99; buying 3 months (price not sure); or buying a full year (around $50). It's a deal to buy in advance, as it's almost half the price to get a full 12-year subscription ($50) than pay monthly for twelve months ($94). All in all, the Xbox 360 is an amazing console when you get it hooked up to live. Throughout my life I've been a Nintendo fan but yesterday my perspective changed a lot.

I know, it's really just sad. I did that too, and I didn't get any thanks, just greedy "that's all?"'s.

New eggs being introduced for summoning
Skill_Caster replied to Bunker_Boy's topic in General Discussion
Since they're so easy to get I'm guessing Vultures will be a lesser training method for summoning, or a monster that has a short summoning time/damage rate. Tomorrow night I'm going to go on a hunt and see what other eggs there might be. -

Hey, do you have to do a certain quest to be able to kill them?
