The hook for that does seem to have disappeared, but I think it may appear in your notifications now (which is top left) when something happens, I'm not entirely sure. There's literally been hundreds of changes from this version to the previous one and so keeping track of them is a bit of a nightmare.

Forum's look
If you mean the old Tip.It Theme, then no, there's no way to get that back. The forum version we upgraded to was two major point revisions beyond what we were originally on, and our old skin was completely incompatible and doesn't work at all.

Thanks for the post, if you prefer a lighter theme, try out IP.Board which is the default theme and is much brighter colours (including exactly what you wanted when creating/editing a post).

I'll look into the first issue, it might not be changeable but we'll see. Secondly, we didn't, might want to ask IPS why they chose to do that. :P

Interesting. It showed "rsdinasty$$RSD" right after I made that post. Did you change it in another window and then make the post? Either way, it's sorted itself out now.

Haha yeah I was wondering about this.... I mean obviously it's how many times we've been warned/punished by mods, but I don't know if that was supposed to be there. Yeah you can see your own warning points but not eachother's. It allows you to keep track of why you were warned, and if you received a point for it. The clan field has not been changed in any way since I brought the forum back online.

Hello Tip.It! Welcome to the most recent version of IP.Board. I'm sure you'll notice there have been plenty of changes and improvements which you'll be keen to explore. A few things have also changed which we need to tell you about: The "Like" button has been enabled for posts, this makes it possible for you to agree with what someone is saying without having to make a post if you have nothing further to add to the dicussion. You cannot like your own posts, and you cannot see a cumulative counter of how many likes you've obtained, although in theory, you could go through every post you've made and count them up if you wanted. ;) A filter for image links has been enabled. This has been done for your protection and has been something we've wanted to do for a while. Without it, it's always been possible for someone to harvest IP addresses from the forum by putting an image on a custom host into their post, or signature or whatever and then use the fact that it was hosted on a server they control to log the IPs which visited the image. To combat this, all images are now filtered and we've added most of the large image hosts, but I'm sure we will have missed some, so if you notice an image host is blocked who shouldn't be, then feel free to tell us in this thread and we'll see about adding it. Note that we will not be accepting submissions of personal websites for the reasons listed above. When editing a post, the link colour in posts on the Deflection & Tip.It skins is not easy to read (the bright blue), we'll get around to sorting this as soon as possible but it's proving to be a little more tricky than originally anticipated. View New Content should now be completely up to date with the latest posts and should never lag 5 minutes behind actual posts like it used to. Tagging is now enabled and when creating a topic, you can choose from a list of predefined tags which categorise your topic. This makes it much easier to find similar topics that may also interest you. Gallery is now re-enabled and fully compatible with all of our skins. Tracker is now fixed in Tip.It Skin. Massive improvements to handling of notifications. Plus loads of other new features and bug fixes. :)

I believe you will be able to see who likes a post as well. The only thing that's being disabled is you won't have anything similar to post count keeping track of your total likes forum wide. (so there would be no incentive to beg for likes) I assume they are switching over to IP.Board v3 (w00t) In which case, mods/admins would be able to see who has the most likes in total. We're already on IP.Board v3. ;) Will what affect it?

Hey, at least you can go do something else while it's down, some of us will be working. :P

You can generate one yourself over at IPS's tracker: http://community.invisionpower.com/tracker/project-24-ipboard-3x/ Scroll down to the bottom and look for "Generate report list for issues fixed in". But to see them all you'd have to select each version from that list inidividually (except 3.1.4).

- Help! My secondary HDD is a goner
I would heavily recommend using a Ziploc bag over a plastic bag, you really don't want to get any moisture inside of the drive. you should also plug in the drive without putting it inside the case, the heat from other components inside will heat up your drive faster which means less time to copy data. Also, if you have any incredibly important data on the drive you may want to take it to a professional. .02¢ Some fine advice. Maybe, but being in an enclosure would probably cause it to heat up quicker. If you have two drives plugged in with IDE and the other one isn't important for the time being (ie. not your boot drive or intended copy destination), you could unplug that one too to make it easier to plug in outside of the case. You just need it generally away from the main warm area of your computer. It's also much harder to fix problems from an enclosure, I don't know how the initialize procedure etc. works for USB, I've never tried it.- Help! My secondary HDD is a goner
This is the 3rd drive I add in this computer. The other 2 drives were SATA but this one is a 6-7 years old IDE drive. I don't hear clicks at all but my computer fans are loud as hell. Should I just remove the HDD from the computer? Ever since it failed, my boot up times went south, which is weird since this is a secondary drive. It makes sense it would affect your boot times as your BIOS checks every connected drive for details (Size, SMART status etc.) and so if it can't get that data from a drive it would hang. This is going to sound weird but, if you really need your data, there's a last ditch method you can try yourself. Take out the hard drive and seal it in a plastic bag, and when I say seal it I mean either fold the bag over and tape it down well, or put it in a bag with a sealable top. Stick the drive in the freezer for about 8 hours and then take it out and connect it up, boot up and try booting and see if you can initialise/access the drive. It's important you do this quickly as it needs to still be pretty cold when you try and access it. Sometimes this will give you a chance to pull some of your data off it, it depends what kind of fault it is, this will help usually with a mechanical fault but not with an electronic fault.- Help! My secondary HDD is a goner
Yeah, so it's looking pretty bleak for the drive. Are you confident with computer disassembly? As in, could you take the drive out without too much difficulty? Does it make any clicks or out of the ordinary noises when your computer is turned on?- Help! My secondary HDD is a goner
Try initialising it and seeing what happens (right click).- Help! My secondary HDD is a goner
You didn't state your operating system (other than "Windows"), but what does it look like if you click the start button, right click "Computer", press "Manage", and then go to "Disk Management"? What does it say regarding the drive in question?- Suggestion for Quest Calculator
For the Quest Calculator at least, I'll add this feature when I get home in about a week. :)- RSS Feeds for GE Center Prices
Yeah we do detect GE Updates, but we don't provide this data in an RSS feed or anything, just on our GE Centre. After a couple of minutes more thought, I think I will most likely recode all of our GE-related stuff, including the update checker and the graphs, but I probably won't start for around 3 weeks as I'll be away from home for a while, so don't expect anything too soon. ;)- RSS Feeds for GE Center Prices
Certainly something I'm willing to look into. Right now I'd really like to improve the way we detect GE updates so I'd probably change that first. It does take us about 2 hours to actually grab all of the data too because of some recent changes Jagex made.- SSD Eratic behaviour.
There was an issue with the Agility/Vertex series up until recently where they would randomly "disconnect" themselves from the host machine, causing BSoDs if you're using Windows while it's happening, and the behaviour you're describing now. The BSoDs leave no error logs as since the HDD disconnects, there's no way for them to be recorded. I believe the latest firmware versions for the SSDs fixes the issue but it may or may not wipe the drives when you update, I don't know, I've never owned one. :P- SSD Eratic behaviour.
Are they OCZ SSDs?- Full list of treasure trails is broken link (beta site)
This should now be sorted. :)- "Like" button for comments
Going to agree here. I've never been a fan of Likes/Thumbs up/etc for reasons already mentioned, but it doesn't hurt to give it a try..(though I sincerely hope it won't last long) I'll third that :-| From what we've decided so far, while the like button will be enabled for posts, you will not be able to go to your profile to see your total "reputation", the post will merely have the likes attached to it when users view the topic. So ultimately there would be no benefit to making posts just for likes other than that single post would have a lot of likes, it won't increment some competitive number in your profile. :)- DDOSing in runescape
Our point is that while yes, you are correct that it's a potential scenario, that's not where the information was obtained. - Help! My secondary HDD is a goner
