  1. And while you're at it, can you stop with the racist stereotypical remarks? It's making my sick. And to Pete_The_Vicous, I hope you know that I didn't intentionally exclude "but it's enough", I just figured what I quoted would suffice to say what I wanted to say. Anyway, sorry about that, I didn't quite get what you were trying say then (it's all cleared up now).
  2. Just look up bullet wound on google images, you'll see that a bullets' momentum is anything but miniscule and undamaging. Anyway, about shooting the convict 5 times, I personally think it was out of anger/revenge/fear that the officer shot him multiple times, not to prevent postmortum twitching that could have set off the bomb..
  3. Who can't love a game with awesome weapons like a Light Sword that converts Roman Soldiers on contact? I wouldn't call them idiotic for making that game, it's made by christains for christains, it's not a recruiting tool. I think you're taking the game a little too literal, there aren't too many ways to make a first person shooter that promotes christianity, and from the sound of it, they aren't too serious about the game's geniuosity anyway, just a fun game for christains.
  4. I've got a Military Science scholarship for the University of Arizona.
  5. Thank goodness, hopefully it stays this way (What is a tube station? I'm guessing it's a subway, not sure).
  6. Don't tell me you've never heard of Google? Just type in spudgun or potato gun, it's simple.
  7. You can get one from RuneHQ.com, though I think it requires a quick registration to their forums first.
  8. Yeah, I thought about that one too. Bungie still denies any Halo 3 development but they aren't denying a sequel with a different title. I'm pretty sure you can pre-order it regardless of title for like $59.99, est. shipping in June, 2006. I guess one can only speculate until then.
  9. It's only a big deal if the people involved want it to be a big deal... or if it actually happens. Were they even contacted? Like I said before, they're really vigerous about this kind of stuff and are really helpfull/annoying about it. I don't see how new management could excuse something like ignoring 3 abandoned children with no home.
  10. Check his location Merc, Utah. Plus, if it has anything to do with Mormons, it usually has to do with that state. Anyway, I'm assuming you're talking about CPS? Maybe it's just my state, but they are very, uhm, entusiastic about their job. I had to meet with them several times during my parent's divorce simply because of things my stepmom made up. I think it's very weird they'd be hesitant or reluctant to help. Very weird. Oh, and I'm assuming she's still getting help from the Mormon church right? It being in Utah and all.
  11. Well, I can't really pick a favorite, I'll list some that I definitely like: Rage Against The Machine - Know Your Enemy Tool - Sober, Schism Modest Mouse - The World at Large, Buttons to Push The Buttons, Summer Metallica - Fuel, Fade to Black, Sad But True, Turn The Page Kansas/Eagles - Dust In The Wind Chevelle - Get Some Theres a list of some of my favorites.
  12. I'm pretty sure destroying and tampering with someone else's mailbox is considered a felony in the United States. Don't give any ideas.
  13. I don't think I can make a list of my top 10/100 movies without having to change it every time I see someone post another movie I'll like, so I'll just say this. You've got some great taste in movies How2pk
  14. Well, my Gamertag is Kenny 89. I usually only play Halo 2 custom matches and Team Slayer (Level 20), but if I get on a losing streak i'll do some Ghost Recon 2. Though it's going to be a couple of days until I can get headset again. Halo 2 text messaging stinks.
  15. Yeah also 1982 mustang sick? Oh god the 80's mustangs are repulsive, 1965-70 and 2005 mustangs are only nice ones Sexy isn't it?
  16. you open the door to the shark, let all the water drain out because you opened the door, laugh and kick the shark squirming on the floor, and keep going Or maybe do it Jaws style. Find an unlikely harpoon in an extremely convenient location right next to a high powered battery. Then with some pliers hook the harpoon up to the battery, shoot the shark, and watch it explode into a million sequels.
  17. Doesn't make much sense, but I guess that's how it's supposed to be, to "make people scratch their heads". Anyway, nice one Xman, looking forward to seeing some more in the future :) .
  18. Oh yeah, speaking of 343 GS, theres another little biblical/mathematical thing. Halo 1 took place on Installation 04. 7^4 is 343 (343 Guilty Spark the Moniter of Halo). Then there's 2401 Penitent Tangent, moniter of Installation 05, Delta Halo (7^5 is 2401, pattern there). There are quite a few references to 7 in the bible (7 years of Judgement in the Apocalypse comes to mind at the top of my head). But yeah, The Reclaimer thing is pretty interesting too. Though MC isn't the only Reclaimer, it's any human I'm guessing, as Captain Keyes was "The Reclaimer" in Halo 2 (she was the one being forced by Tartarus to activate Halo). I guess it's just one more connection with the humans and Forunners. And thanks Merc, glad you enjoyed it :) .
  19. Okay, this will be hard to explain, but I'll give it a go. Me and my friends have been playing and finishing Halo 1 and 2 again and again recently, looking for hints about Halo 3. Well, over the course of the summer, I've noticed a ton, a ton of things about the serie's plot and the bible. Let me point out just some similarities first, to try to keep my thoughts organized. Warning: If you've been hiding under a rock and don't know the plot, spoilers are ahead, be warned. ----------------------------------------------------------- Okay, first, Halo, the sacred ring and considered holy by The Covenant. Obvious religous reference right off the bat. As we all know, the halo signifies a religous association (just look at any christian art). The Covenant: In the game they are an extremely religous group of alien races led by The Prophets, who are trying to activate Halo to send all who are worthy on The Great Journey and meet up with the Forerunners in the Great Beyond, unbeknownst of Halo's true purpose, as they are blinded by their faith. After failing to do this twice, they find out that they can activate the Halos remotely from The Ark (Which in my opinion is on Earth, but we'll get to that later). In the bible, the Ark of the Covenant is built by Moses, and contains the Ten Commandments (If my knowledge of Judea/Christian history is off, please note so). The Ark is claimed to be in in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Ethiopa right now. In the game Halo 2, The Covenant strike Earth in only one place, New Mombasa (Kenya), which is close to Ethiopa (which is as stated before, the Ark's supposed location). Now, changing directions a bit, we goto The Flood, a race of parasitic aliens who consume anything and everything in it's path, mutate their hosts, and change the atmoshpere. They are unstoppable and can only be stopped by destroying their food (which is everything living. including humans and The Covenant). The Forerunners built The Ark and the Halos for this purpose, a last resort to stop the flood. If the installations are activated, the galaxy is whiped clean of the flood, thus killing off the flood. This has happened once so far and is the reason why the Forerunners no longer exist. Now, In one of the Halo novels (I forget which one, or maybe it was in the game), 343 Guilty Spark (We'll call him Oracle) says that The Ark is also the only safe place from the flood. This is critical to my theorys about the Forerunners, Humans, and everything's connection, but I'll get to that. Now, in the bible, there is also Noah's Ark. Noah builds this Ark to save himself from a flood (similarities plz?) that will whipe out all of earth but him and the animals contained in his Ark. Just like the game, the Ark is the only thing that is safe from the flood. The Forerunners; in Halo, they built the Ark. The Ark is considered the most holy of places by The Covenant and is where the Halos can be remotely activated. The Forerunners are basically seen as gods by The Covenant, and according to The Covenant built the Halos and The Ark to cleanse the Galaxy and send the worthy Covenant to The Great Beyond and live with The Forunners (Heaven, Apocalypse relevancy). Another, tiny note, but possibly big. If you notice carefully, in the cutscene where Master Cheif lands on Halo (I don't remember if it was 1 or 2), you can see in the backdrop a continent shaped like Africa on Halo. ----------------------------------------------------------- Okay, now that I've pointed out a couple of things that Halo relates to biblical history, let me try to make sense of it, and I'll go into what I think the 3rd and possibly final game will be about. Everything from here on is what I think happens/happened and may or may not be true. So, thousands of years ago, the Forerunners activated the Halos to rid of a violent Flood infestation that was taking hold of their infinite empire, and to save the rest of the galaxy/universe from becoming totally infested and destroyed by the parasites. They activated the Halos from The Ark, which was also the only safe place from both The Flood and Halos capabilities. This is where Noah's Ark comes in. The Forerunners either were "Noah" or chose "Noah" to give The Ark to (I guess so that in the future they'd have guardians or something). The Ark eventually came to be The Ark of The Covenant, which is being guarded in Central/Eastern Africa (as it was intended to be). Now, thousands of years later, an alien coalition of races called The Covenant (The Ark of The Covenant referance), find Halo after following The Pillar of Autumn in slipspace. Anyway, Halo 1 the game happens, Halo is destroyed before it can be activated by the covenant. Oracle, who found Earth's coordinates from the crash landed Pillar Of Autumn ship, survives Halo's destruction and is captured by The Covenant, interrogated, and gives The Covenant Earth's location (The Ark's location) The Covenant strike in New Mombasa, Africa, and nowhere else, with a fleet so miniscule it's as if they didn't expect human resistance there. Why didn't the covenant expect there to be a human resistance at Earth, the center of the human empire? Because they had no idea humans lived there. They thought it was an ancient Forerunner planet to which was home to The Ark and was of great religous importance. The presence of humans was completely unexpected. So, in Halo 3, we find out that why The Covenant came to New Mombasa to retrieve The Ark and activate the Halos, but did not have time as they came upon the center of human civilization unexpectidly. This is why they return with a much more numerically superior force in the end of Halo 2, to retrieve The Ark once and for all. ----------------------------------------------------------- I can't guess how it really ends, but this is my clouded up theory of the whole story and how biblical history is supposed to be integrated with the story. There are tons and tons of ways to interpret all the stuff with the game and the bible. I'm pretty sure it was integrated with biblical history on purpose, when you think about all these things, it really makes the plot of Halo much more interesting and thought provoking. Think of what I wrote as you wish, this is just some of the stuff I've been thinking about lately (sorry if the info is really cluttered, contradictory, and doesn't make much sense, I'll try to explain myself if needed).
  20. Jaguar the animal or the Jaguar the car? If you're talking about the car manufacturer, well, then take the car out I guess.
  21. Nutcases like the above people aren't only found in America mind you. If you showed this to the entirety of the US, you'd find that A: With the exception of one, most people haven't heard/care about these people or what they say and B: They didn't vote for him anyway. Anyway, those quotes are pretty unfair. Gary North? Of course he's going to say that, he's the son of the Christian Reconstructionist movement's founder. Pat Robertson of the Christian Coalitoin, only has influence over other extremenists like him. Ann Coulter? Well, she's just mad. Anyway, I think taking quotes from the extreme facet of any religon is going to conjur some negative feedback, and isn't fair to people of that religon. If people only pointed out what Osama Bin Laden had to say about Islam, you'd only find negative stuff there too. Just because we have some extremely right winged people who say some wacky stuff, doesn't mean our people care or listen to them (Bush is a different story I guess).
  22. Looks like the wall behind it to me, and I'm pretty positive that's what it is if it's not something else's shadow. I think it only looks like a ghost to you because that's what you want it to be.
  23. Note to Americans: Wearing a seatbelt is a matter of life and death. You can exercise your right not to wear if you like but can i direct you to this news article explaining how an anti seatbelt campaigner died in a car crash because he wasnt wearing a seat belt. Maybe he shouldn't have taken his own advice that he wrote in this article only 4 months before his death. In my county, not wearing a seatbelt makes you susceptible to a $50 fine if you're caught/the police care. (though I think it's only if a DWI or something else happens at the same time, also voids insurance)
  24. Yeah, I think they're called Logical Fallacys. They can be true logically, but they can't be proved. An example: Kenny lies whenever he says something. Kenny says something. Hence, you can assume he's lieing. I can't really explain the relevancy between that statement and the equation 1=2, but basically, it can be true, but only in one way. And in that one way, it's still not true. Basically an endless contridiction or proving it false or true, hence Circular Reasoning. Guh, I don't think that made much sense, but neither does what I'm trying to explain. Oh, I know full-well what circular reasoning is. I was saying that I didn't know if circular reasoning would be a good explanation of the flaw in the equation.. I know you know what circular reasoning is, it's just I was having a hand at trying to explain what you're talking about.
