Some of the variables you get to enter are; size of asteroid, density of asteroid, angle of impact, composition of asteroid, and your distance from the impact. Once you enter these variables, the calculator gives a really detailed on how it will effect the area you put in, and basically the earth. REALLY COOL! One I put in was a 5.3 mile crater hitting South Carolina, about 2,000 miles away from me, here are just some of the things it gave back:

They were all aligned within a 27 degree circle I think it was, but it was on the other side of the sun, so you couldn't see the whole thing.

Actually, I don't think it was made by Virgin, I think Virgin just sponsored the winner of the X prize (Winner had to be able to enter sub orbital space and land 2 times in 2 weeks, winner did it like in october 2004). It doesn't look like a nessecarily fun ship to fly in, and I think it goes up to 62-65 miles. This is what you fly in, SpaceShip One. It's carried by a mother ship to like 60,000 ft. and then it's launched from there.
