The reason why so many old posts get locked when someone posts on them is because they usually dont have anything extra to add. When you have an old topic and then someone posts 3 months later and says "lol yeah" then its obviously going to be locked for bumping a dead topic. If its a long discussion like some of the religeon threads have been they are brought from the grave many times over because the people that reply post a detailed message. Yes I do think that perhaps too much locking goes on but a majority of the threads deserve it. We get so many "whats your favourite movie/band etc" and "" posts they just get annoying after a while or cause flaming. Perhaps a discussion about the future of off topic could be arranged with a few admins and mods in the irc room or something? Afterall Off Topic wouldnt exist without us lot.

It just seems to me like you didnt post to get constructive criticisms at all. You posted because you know that people think you are good and would praise you. As soon as i pick up on some details you go on about how my "capability to relate to arts is limited" thats very low dude. Im nothing like the guy looking for little mistakes and errors, i was simply telling you what you could do to improve it. The first thing that crossed my mind when i saw it was that the mouth was all wrong. I found images to help you too. It wasnt a stupid flame. I actually liked the sig when i first posted but your attitude to criticism leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe i didnt phrase my original post well but my point still stands. As soon as theres a TJ sig or MXM everyone is like "omg sweet!!!!11;?}# 10/10" and doesnt provide any CC. A piece is NEVER perfect and advice should be welcome no matter your own skill level. It annoys me that so many people have no respect for the learners and praise the "famous" artists without taking into account the piece. Just remember what your first sig looked like TJ... I dont want to fall out with anyone over this so i'm going to step back because i dont want to take over your thread. Good luck with your next piece. :)

Brainiac is miles better than Myth Busters. In MB they are like "I wonder if you can make someone poo thair pants with a high pitched noise" and in Brainiac they are like "I wonder what happens when you put Caesium in a bathtub" lol

Meh look at all the suckups "oooh tj its so amazing!!!112223;';[~;'#" How about some CC people? Nothing is ever perfect. Heres some screenies of what Cartmans mouth should look like, not that round ovals you used. I liked the way youve made the outliones of Cartman blend in with a darker shade of the colour fill. Hovever you have not been so consistent with the background. The snow line is nice and grey, i think it should have been light blue, but it works anyway but the mountain line is black. Its the only lines in the signature that is black and it looks out of place. If the rest was black it wouldnt have been so bad but they arnt so it looks dreadful.

Try and find some constructive criticism rather than jumping on the anti-source pic bandwagon. He's not selling it. Grow up. The border is very nicely done even tho it is a tut. The textures on it and the colours are right but I dont think it works in this particular sig. I dont know if you did the linework yourself or if its a brush but i think its pretty cool whatever. The main part of the background is pretty good imo, nice brushes and filters well done not really much else to say as it only takes up a very small part of it. The render is ok and its been nicely blended in but im not sure what its even supposed to be lol. Perhaps make it a bit clearer next time round. The thing that lets the sig down the most however is the text. Its a good font (broken15 i think) but its certainly not suited to a bevel The shading on the text and the dark outline make it look very out of place. Flatten it, lighten the border to a darker shade of mustard and then brush over it a tad with a few dirty fuzzy brushes to make it look a bit more industrial. Conclusion, work on your text definitly and try and make the lineart more of a bigger deal. Perhaps try taking out a premade render unless its critical to the piece and last of all, good luck. :D

The problem with these concerts and the online petition thing is that it generates a large number of what i call "slacktivists". people that are all talk about making poverty history but when it comes to donating serious money or working for these charities people dont give a toss. people that think that putting their name on a petition online is going to change the world... well it wont. you need to make an effort to help people. go to the protests. do some work for oxfam or sone of the 500 other charities involved in the MPH campaign and actually DO some good activism instead of clicking a few buttons and being all smug about it all because it only makes YOU feel better.

We've been over this Merc. People are trying to sell them and it's illegal. It is no different then if I went to deviantart and stole a wallpaper and put my name on it. I would get flamed for that. These people should be too. Blah blah its illegal. Next time someone does it email the owner of the copyright and let them sort it. I see people getting really flamed when using legitamate stock pictures and images from fan kids released for people to mess with the images. Its a signature on an internet forum, if people really gave a toss sites such as b3ta.com which rely on using images from google and stuff for photomanipulation would have been sued. And b3ta has been running for years, many of the pictures that ppl make on there are using in newspaper and magazine all over the world. So long as people arnt making money from them then its fine in my book.
