Most in-game famous person at RuneFest?
Don't really care. I don't worry about which players are the most "famous". I'm not going to meet them I'm going to meet the staff.

Good luck :D Hope you get one too. By the way you have to pay £2.50 for the privilege of printing out your own ticket. Fail.

24-Apr-2010 - Jagex Presents... RuneFest 2010
Got mine :D Not particularly happy about it being done via TicketMaster though. Jagex already have billing providors and could easily have done this themselves. For two tickets @ £75 each it cost me £162 pfft thats an extra £12 over what the face value is (almost 4 months p2p).

24-Apr-2010 - Jagex Presents... RuneFest 2010
Email about the tickets came today. They are done via ticketmaster not direct from Jagex which means it costs another £5 almost per ticket. Just gets worse.

24-Apr-2010 - Jagex Presents... RuneFest 2010
So a few more details announced today but still nothing of substance. People are still demanding to know what you get for the money, if food/drink is included and the rough location of the event. Tickets go on sale in 2 days and hotels are already running low on rooms (Notting Hill Carnival).

Unless the ticket price includes a year membership as well as free drinks and food all day then I wont be going. Ticket price seems far too high.

If it's a success there might be one in the states also. Likewise there are hundreds of "fests" in America that people in the UK can't get to. Jagex is a British developer. We don't know figures on the demographics of Runescape players but i'm sure Jagex will have worked out the number of people eligible to come.

Unlikely. They are more likely to show off this kind of stuff at developer conferences where there is opportunity for investment etc.

A Second Bonus Week
I agree with you Lady Ninane i'm actually against the bonus exp weekend full stop, but we have to accept that Jagex want to do another one so my suggestions were more to do with damage limitation than any self centred thoughts about being anti buyable 99s.
-
A Second Bonus Week
Limiting the exp gain at a capped amount kind of makes the whole bonus week pointless while still adversely affecting short term economy as you explained to such detail in the same exact post. :/ If you read my post again you will see several skills missing from the list, ones I consider buyable and thus excluded from the bonus weekend. The capped amount would entice people to train a variety of skills rather than grinding one particular one too so will spread the demand for stuff out.

A Second Bonus Week
You effectively participate in the bonus exp weekends even if you don't log in! As players and merchants alike preparing for the the economy fluctuates highly. Easily buyable stuff becomes unbuyable even at max. Things like herbs and summoning seconds become not only difficult to buy but due to the way the game works almost impossible to collect yourself in the time frame. Training spots for collecting skills like woodcutting and mining also become full. The bonus exp weekends have huge impacts on the game its not just a case of not taking part if you don't agree with it, you have to bear the impact regardless. In my opinion the only skills that should be trained during bonus exp weekend is as follows: Attack Strength Defence Constitution Ranging Magic Runecrafting Agility Theiving Slayer Hunter Mining Fishing Firemaking Woodcutting Farming Also the bonus exp should have a max limit for each skill and another overall max for bonus exp. Something like a maximum of 5m exp bonus and 500k exp in any particular skill. I havnt really thought specifics on this.

If there is going to be a planned meet up i doubt anything will begin to be arranged until after tickets go on sale.

Makes good sense really. If you allow people under 16 then they really aught to have adult supervision (london is big and scary) and if every 14 year old has to take dad/uncle/big brother with him/her then thats one less space available for genuine fans who want to attend.

Runescape Wiki adverts are managed by Wikia who have been in discussions with Jagex about removing gaming adverts and gold sellers etc. And its not like any of the other fansites are squeeky clean.

They probably only offered the rank to him because they intend to scam him imo.

Green are weaker than Blue Dragons, so that theory is out of the window. Shows how often I kill dragons, hehe
