Rofl... never thought about it this way, but you're right. That's actually really crafty... there will definitely be people who would think they'll end up getting their refund and will only pay for that, then, when Jagex don't refund... lulz. :P I disagree. Most of RuneScape might be like that, But I sure hope most adults or older teens with the money and ability to get into this event aren't that stupid. Exactly. Its the same with the cashback websites. You should never buy a product expecting cashback. If product X from Y-Store costs £100 but costs £110 with £30 cashback from Store-Z it isnt a guarantee that you will only pay £80 for it. If people buy a Runefest ticket expecting to get a refund and then don't then they have no grounds for complaint.

Why would you want a commemorative item for something you have no intention on attending? Seems like a bit of a phony to me. Equivalent to buying a London Marathon medal off the internet without running it or buying a University jersey without going to one. You could buy a ticket to Runefest at 16+ you just cant buy anything from the bar unless you are 18. fyl.

The refund goes back to the card the original payment was taken from. This is done automatically by ticketmaster. You do NOT need to attend Runefest to get the refund.

I really hope that some of those delicious sounding TT items are untradeable or common enough for the lay player. Nothing makes me more sad than seeing awesome items used merely as a fiat currency for other/rarer items.

It needs a system that automaticly puts you in a group of people wanting to do the same floor/size etc. I can never find a partner to do it with and end up getting terrible exp for soloing :(

Disappointed they kept the changes to the colour of Zanaris. I will miss the bright turquoise blue. Looking forward to the quest itself though.

The poll on the RSWiki is rubbish on so many levels. For a start the people answering the poll can not have thoroughly played the skill in order to reach a valid opinion. Secondly its full of rubbish answers, Sailing was clearly never going to happen so anyone voting on that option should be discounted. Thirdly Necromancy is basicly summoning. Apart from the fact its not skeletons or zombies we are summoning its practically the same. Infact the way summoning works in Daemonheim is even more like Necromancy so lets discount those too. You also cant mix "Other" and "neutral" together. One means an alternative skill idea which is the same as "I would have rather seen another popular idea as the new skill" and the other means you are of no opinion about the skill. It is one of the worst multiple choice poll questions I've ever seen on the RS wiki and the results hold no statistical value at all. It's pointless even trying to analyse it.

Jagex has like 400 employees, thats a pretty large beta testing team there. Just get all the customer support ops and people not involved in development or content to have a go themselves. I was reminded of this comic http://theoatmeal.com/comics/design_hell which basicly parodys how when trying to design a website you can end up doing bizarre things on request. I could see how something similar could happen to Runescape with Jagex creating a piece of content and it getting warped due to feedback from selfish players to the point where it has become a poor quality piece of work suited only to the people who gave the feedback in the first place, and not for the greater good at all.

People are selfish. How would those involved in beta testing be able to resist buying up all the resources for a future update? Something that means that a completely worthless item will suddenly be in huge demand. e.g. Nasturtium seeds are now ingredients for a potion or familiar that gives really good exp. We know some of the kind of people that play Runescape, would you trust them not to buy out all the seeds and sell for ridiculous amounds after the update? However I do think that game engine updates need testing. There were a lot of issues with Runetek5 for example which would have been spotted by players. Yes to beta testing for game engine updates, no to beta testing for new skills/quests/upgrades to existing skills etc.

Cool idea. Takes away some of its 'discontinued' status. + remove it from the toy box like suggested That way the item becomes available to anyone that wants to go to a Runefest/Jagex event irl wherever it may be in the world. Everyone gets the same looking item it just displays some different text on read or examine. Remove it also from the toybox and instead give it the ability to be planted perminantly in a player owned house, like a wintumber tree.

The banner is fairly plain, the image of it leaked from the RSMV had 2010 written on it, but the actual one doesnt. How about Jagex just release the same flag for each Runefest event they do wherever it may be in the world and it just has different text when you read it??
