  5. I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m at work, in my office. Trying to fix a Mysql error that is chewing up our web server while simultaneously answering customer and vendor questions and posting here. I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m a rabid multitasker.

I remember that game! I was addicted to it when it came out. Wow, that was a long time ago.
  9. It's an alternate timeline of America. It incorporates folklore as truth. Quite enjoyable.
  10. What kind of books are you interested in reading? Science fiction and fantasy. BTW ive read all of the LOTR twice, so dotn mention them. Have you ever read Pas[bleep]ch by Orson Scott Card? I liked it a lot. Everyone and their mother will tell you that Ender's Game is great too...primarily because it is great! :P I also hear Dune is suppose to be a fantastic book (science fiction) although I've never read it myself. Wonderful suggestions ghost. I also recommend the "Alvin Maker" series by Orsen Scott Card
  11. My guess is that Spanish is going to be the universal language before long.
  12. But who decides which values apply? Using the examples Lewis gave like not running away in battle and not double crossing people, I think a good argument can be made that those are simply values that are required for a civilization to endure or values that logically allow for progress. It just seems to me to be more of a picking and choosing type thing. I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s so much picking and choosing as it is adapting common sense to social and environmental conditions. I think that this can be seen by the level to which civilizations value the different core principals.
  13. If you cannot get why I see this as offensive rhetoric that does nothing to further understanding between members you are obviously the one with reading comprehension problems. Don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t act as though I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m going around getting personal with people because you are the one that is launching attacks even after I explained my reaction to the post. I said the comment wasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t helpful. Was that rude? A little, but I feel that the post was rude for the reasons I outlined. I didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t call the poster stupid or attack him personally the way that you are attacking me. For your information I read quite well.
  14. Let me also state that I know Christians feel like telling people they are going to hell if they don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t believe, but let me give you an insight into the non-believers reaction to it. It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s childish. You can believe that I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m going to hell but making sure that I know that is intimidation. I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m not intimidated mind you because I do not believe that. However, that is still how it comes across. I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m only stating this because I think some Christians don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t get that we see it as rude.
  15. Maybe not, and there are plenty of people on here including several poster this page that have come on and said ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅI love god ect̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  16. Perhaps, if that were truly the case I would have a different view of christianity. However I think the expansion has a lot more to do with active recruitment.
  17. Ya, that was helpful.
  18. Ah, I stand corrected. That being said though the followers of Jesus do have this in their bible. Seems an oddly barbaric thing to leave in. Not really. I've seen weirder things, like angels coming down and making children with human women. They made a super-race, but it was wiped out in the flood. Or the fact that God told the Israelites to completely wipe out other nations, killing everything from the city and later burning it. Perhaps that is the root of christian expansionism?
  19. Notice that it said ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Å'almah was the most accurate and precise term for virgin used in the Old Testament.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  20. Evidently in magic bible land, animals could talk: Numbers 22:21-30 (King James Version) 30 And the [wagon] said unto Balaam, Am not I thine [wagon], upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? and he said, Nay.
  21. Of course Mary didn't have ancestors. You both have a point. Mary could have been a descendant of David. However, the bible almost exclusively follows male bloodlines, not female bloodlines.
  22. Actually, the claim that Marry was a virgin is not correct. The bible never claims that she is a virgin. The problem is that people in modern times have confused ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åimmaculate conception ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ conception without intercourse̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  23. You think those illogical bits are good? Check this out. 2CH 21:20, 22:1-2 Ahaziah was forty-two when he became king by succeeding his father. His father who died at the age of forty. So, Ahaziah was somehow two years older than his father. Hmmmmm.
  24. Well first of all Your right Romans were not athiest they belive in false gods for things much like the Greeks. Second the Romans didi not compile the Bible. It was moslty compiled by The followers of Jesus (Matthew,Mark,Luke,John) not by Romans. The only Roman i can think of is Paul. The Romans believed their god(s) were as real as your's(asuming your a theist). It is also a well known fact that the Bible has been cencored over the ages. Around 300 CE(AD) Constinople I believe had noticed many diffrent variations of Christianity, each one using it's own gospil (their where 40 acording to history channel). A Cardinal from the Vatican had stated that their should be 4 Gospils because there are 4 corners to the Earth  , and a meeting was held that many church leaders chose the books to be enterd into their Bible. These books where based on the majory, and the ease of transition so many OT books like the lives of Adam and Eve were excluded. Considering Constinople was Roman teritory, I say the Romans compiled to Bible together, but the follows of Jesus part, that was likly corect (I am saying likly because to call oneself a Christian nolonger makes you one (they get mad when Hitler said he was one)). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banned_from_the_Bible PS: I like your sig Godzira. I'm glad you like the sig. thank you. However, not picking on anyone including the above post, I would like to request that people stop using wikipedia as a referance for this thread. Wikipedia is not a reliable resource as it is little more than a big blog. If you must quote wikipedia please fact check the information first. This is just to avoid a "wiki-war". Thanks!
