Since you are f2p and happen to be looking for a cheap, efficient way to train magic, I suggest you train with curse. Wear equipment that lowers your magic attack bonus (full rune gives you an attack bonus of -65 and I hear bronze does the same; if you wear green d'hide vambs and an elemental staff, the two cancel each other out but you still get unlimited runes :) ). The idea is to cast curse on a target and have the spell fail every time (you get exp for casting the spell...it doesn't matter if it takes effect) so that you can keep cursing the same monster again and again. It's actually more efficient that training with fire strike, since with curse, you're guarunteed 29 exp per spell, whereas fire strike gives you up to 19.5 exp per spell. Plus, the runes tend to be much cheaper (you can buy decent quantities for less than 10 gp each at rune shops). The disadvantages are that you won't be killing anything, meaning no monster drops, and it requires much more clicking. IMO, it's still worth it though :)

IMO, iron is so much better to mine than coal. At your level, you should be able to get iron in one hit, while each coal is gonna take much longer to mine (not to mention the slower respawn rate). Plus, each iron gives you 35 exp while each coal only gives you 50 exp. At pretty much all levels, you can mine iron more than twice as fast as coal so that pretty much covers the exp advantages. If you save your ores, iron is even better than coal cash-wise. You can expect at least 100 gp per iron, while with coal, you can expect up to 200 gp per (180 is more realistic). At level 84 mining, I can expect to grab a load of iron in 5 minutes, while a load of coal takes 10-20 minutes. You do the math :)

This is the "Ask a stupid question, get a SMART answer!!" game. Why is a pie tin not the same thing as a spool of thread? For your response to qualify as sufficient, you must answer the question in a 5-paragraph format with an introduction containing a relevant thesis, three body paragraphs that effectively support the thesis, and a conclusion that restates the thesis and summarizes the main points of your essay. You must maintain proper mechanics (i.e. proper spelling and grammar) throughout the essay or else it will be qualified as insufficient. I shall continue to ask this question until someone sufficiently responds according to the specified parameters.

You could try training with curse. Just wear as much equipment as you can that lowers magic attack bonus (full rune with stronghold boots and green d'hide vambs get it to -78) so that the equipment bonus exceeds your magic level (so at your level, you would have to wear equipment that gives you a magic attack bonus of -59 or lower). The idea is to have your spells fail to take effect every time, so that you can keep casting curse on the same target over and over (you still get the same exp for casting the spell :wink: ). This is the cheapest way to gain magic exp in f2p, since the runes needed for the spells can be bought from rune shops for less than 10 gp each. Also, you are guarunteed 29 magic exp per spell, as opposed to the maximum 19.5 magic exp provided by fire strike. The only disadvantages are the facts that you won't be getting monster drops and there's a good deal more clicking involved.

I bring 6 nats, 9 earths, and water staff (for up to 3 bind spells) in addition to offensive mage equipment (for a better chance of the spells taking effect) and 5 lobsters (so that I may entertain the pker a bit longer). Also, if you stop in a single-combat zone near aggressive monsters, something should attack the pker and prevent them from hurting you for a short while. I'm also paranoid and keep my mouse hovering above the logout button in case any white dots appear on the minimap :P EDIT: Oh, and if you do get attacked before you can log out, I suggest you turn on protect from magic immediately. If you get hit with bind, that's pretty much guarunteed death -.-
