The tree can always be changed. Also, I talked to dungeonal, and here's how I think research should work. We start with 10k people. That gives you 1 research point a year. Techs all cost a certain number of points, depending on their value. So lets say agriculture was 5 points, it would take 5 years with 10k people to research it. If you had 50k people, it would only take 1 year. You could assign your points to different researches too, so you could spend 2 points a year on agriculture, and 3 on mining, for example. You can't save up research points, you have to have them be spent each year or be lost. I think it's important to have a standardized tech tree, but still leave room for some creativity. As in, if there's a specific tech you want to research, you can, but be fair about the # of pts it would take. EDIT: Didn't see dungeon describe the system above me.

I'll update the key and change Sere's colour now. Maps updated. Whoops, I wrote one of those down, then thought I hadn't put it in yet. The correct one is 7.

Mather, modern day technology allows for a lot more agriculture, and agriculture in harsher places. A thousand or more years ago, Norway wasn't a great place for agriculture compared to other parts of the world. Norway is pretty far north. We're not insulting you, just saying that it wasn't always the happy abundant place you're saying it is now. Alright, I'll start. Here's the updated map. I couldn't remember what font we're suppose to use, so someone will have to fill my Kingdom name in, just write Brazil next to the pink square in the key. There are two people with the same color on the map. Also, each pixel on the map=7km, at the equator. Further away it equals less. [hide=map][/hide] [hide=town map(Brasilia)][/hide] Here's my tribe's history: [hide=History] The Brazilian people are best known for their ships, and sailing prowess. Being 450km from the closest island, and even further to the mainland has forced them to use ships as their main mode of transportation for trading. The town of Brasilia is located in an extremely temperate area, allowing for several harvests in one year. Though the northern regions of their island have yet to be explored, a possible mine was discovered by an explorer a few dozen km to the north. [/hide] Currently, we're working on building a second town to the north. It'll be a while though. I'll do a roster later.

Well, I think it's more of a logistics problem that makes them not check for girls playing as guys. That would require them to manually check every single person to sign up, rather than only a small percent.
-
I strongly disagree. While they shouldn't be used for anything that doesn't require one, calculators do allow advanced mathematics, physics, chemistry, etc. Computers on the other hand make writing a hell of a lot easier. It's not like people lose the ability to write things out by hand though, but most are just faster on computers.

I was thinking that too. I think they were saying a chinese MMO company banned it, not china itself. Cuz, otherwise we could be starting topics like: "UK bans swearing" Because jagex censors most language.

Well, we were taught the mechanics of quadratic equations. There are like 4 ways to do it, including the formula, and 3 don't need a calculator usually, but unless you have a problem with all whole numbers and perfect squares the forumula pretty much requires a calculator.
-
Cause we're all looking to be unique, but still the same. I've been thinking about that a bit lately.

mmoRPG ROLE PLAYING GAME Should people wanting to be wizards also have to prove their abilities by casting spells on webcam? You know, to prevent satanists or something. I rarely play as a guy on games, but rules (even one sided ones) on things like this are just stupid.

I think High School should be more general, and then College more specific, especially after the first year. Math, if nothing else, is a good mental exercise. I doubt I'll ever need to figure out the X intercept in a quadratic equation in real life, but whatever. It's not too hard.

-David DeAngelo on meeting women, Double Your Dating 2nd edtition. Being barely 15, I can't really go to bars or clubs, so do you guys have any suggestions when it comes to where you can meet girls? I'm really annoyed at the lack of interesting girls at my school. Teenage/college hangout spots. I'm sure there are a few in your city. Plus I can guarantee there are plenty of interesting girls in your school. You just aren't close to any/many of them.

Heh, I was doing the quardratic formula stuff last year. Not too hard once you remember it. -b (square root: b^2+4ac) Over 2a, or something. Hard to type. I took the survey, some questions I wasn't totally sure on, but I answered anyway.

Latina, more Brazilian than any other country if it matters.
-
I don't like my country being described as a cold and vile place when it is no worse than northern USA in temperature with enough aggriculture, after all we have the highest avarage life span and the second highest wealth rate(after the United Arab Emirates). Things change in a few thousand years. Back in the day, Scandinavia wasn't that great a place.
-
I'll just say I'm a tribe called the Brazilians. I'll make a roster later.
-
I'll keep playing this too.
-
Ah, I have that somewhere. On my first time through I couldn't beat voldemort, then the game permanently glitched my second time and I couldn't beat malfoy in a race. Grr

Seriously, stop responding to him.

Or BF2142? That was my first thought, but ultimania's probably right.
-
Let's use Pangea. That's be cool.
-
Ah, that would be useful. My first thoughts were: Music, guitar and singing specifically (I'm decent but not good) Better at reading people's emotions (Not mind reading, just sometimes I'm not sure) Running or Sports in general.

A~ The mayans are a completely seperate ethnic group B~ Yes it is possible to make a cure yet the mayans didnt what does that tell you about your chances? C~ You cant randomly discover anti biotics with any regularity. A~ B~ Depends on the effort I spend on medicine. C~ Anti-biotics are just a cure against all bacteria, thus it could be made at any time, especially in the South American jungles with its diversity of plant- and fungal-life. Considering Small Pox was still a major problem up until the mid 20th century, your not gonna be stopping it back in the 500s. Way to read a wikipedia article wrong. That doesn't mean they were everyone. Also, his point is that the use of antibiotics is making the diseases evolve so they aren't affected by the antibiotics. They're becoming immune, not us.

I wish you luck and if you ever need any cultural advice just ask, I hope that one day we might form a cross-Atlantic alliance. Unfortunately if you were to ever contact them, the majority of your people would die of small pox and if you were unlucky, the bubonic plague. Unless measures were taken in order to increase health. Yah and I think those never came to Norway, closest thing we have are the rare chicken pox. Uh, no. Not at all. Washing your hands won't do too much against small pox. And small pox was eradicated in like the 70's, so of course you don't have it in Norway now. I have at least never heard of anything like small pox being here ever, but anyways washing your hands won't help, but the mayan cultures are sitting on a motherload of medical ingredients. Good luck inventing a cure in about the 6 months it would take to wipe out most of your people. Oh, and mayans =/= incas.
