  1. Okay, here's my voice about the Andromeda thing. It's stupid. Seriously, it's going to wind up like the Pangea map idea, which will cause people to lose interest. If you're going to do the alternative history thing, just do it with an Earth map. It isn't that difficult.
  2. WTF, I hope you guys do realise that a restart isn't for this thread. It would be an entirely different game.
  3. Dusty's gonna be pissed.
  4. Sad to see you go. Rpg and I were joking about some of your projects the other day (Rectum, etc). -- I totally agree about the abolition of the points systems and calculations. They make the game less story-like. As for the New World not being discovered, I would have to disagree. If the New World wasn't discovered by the 1800s, then I believe that Europe would be a little messed up. Even with the New World already being colonised, I don't see how come a rebellion couldn't occur or how another empire couldn't intervene and take over land.
  5. You can probably find it on the Firefox Addons page. It looks pretty handy. Thanks for the info!
  6. Nasal sprays usually mess up your sinuses. The injection also burned a lot more than normal flu vaccinations do.
  7. Grats. I killed about 5000 Banshees a month ago to no avail. It's annoying when you try to farm champion scrolls because they're so hard to get.
  8. Bull-[cabbage]. It cost me 30-35M by having my butler run oak logs to the sawmill, and I went from level 73-99 in less than 2 months (including getting the hammers by using Fast_Sc clan chat). Gathering hammers takes more time than leveling. Leveling takes like a couple weeks, but hammer-gathering can take a few more weeks. Note: Use the regular butler. Make oak larders until level 74. Then, make oak doors. How much would it cost buying planks/plank make? Easily more than 60M if you buy the planks. I'm not sure about plank make.

  10. We're keeping this thread open for people who enjoy playing this game. We are just discussing the idea of making some sort of alternative history thread.

Teachers had a walk out today in protest of what they perceived as unfair action from the school district (encompasses the entire county) because the district is trying to abolish the teachers' union. I have finals next week. The only exam I'm worried about is French and Physics. In French, we don't learn anything because only three students signed up for French III, and we're put into a French II class. The teacher doesn't have time to teach us anything, so we're on our own. In fact, the only time we really had someone help us learn was when we had a substitute from Russia. She happened to be a fluent French-speaker, and she taught us well. She was furious that we weren't taught certain grammar rules, and she spent about half of the class period complaining about how the school system/teacher let us down. I'm likely to score a C on my French final exam.
  12. Honestly, he should have known better than to be eating or chewing ANYTHING in a laboratory. Especially since there are people that are idiots in the laboratory who would do screwball things such as carrying an open container with chlorine gas billowing out of it or playing with lithium/potassium. I've seen people do the aforementioned, as well as dumping an acid down the sink instead of properly disposing the substance in a container. I've seen someone touch test tubes after heating it up over the burner and then freaking out because it burned them.
  13. Anyway, update time for the Britannian Empire: Four years until Second Life. The joint-research with Kamino will be done within a week. Elysia is being built. -- Also, I do request that this thread remains open simply because I (and I'm sure at least a few other people) enjoy continuing the history. I don't care much about aliens or interstellar warfare at all, but I still do feel as if some aspects of the thread's history isn't completely overrun with sci-fi. For example, my society isn't really "futuristic" where everyone rides in flying cars and wears spandex. We actually closely resemble IRL society, but we have more advanced and efficient technology (but again, not "too futurist"), and our politics are less corrupt.
  14. The main idea with the free states is that it gives us land to conquer, hehe. There could be another Scramble for Africa, and Germany could conquer the remaining European states. With Asia, China could expand, or European powers could try to colonise it. There are a lot of ideas. I like the idea of little to no research. Since World War II didn't happen, no one would have the atomic bomb.
  15. Here is a possible alternative history map: [hide=][/hide] Red = German Empire Light Blue = Japanese Empire Yellow = China Raspberry = Russian Empire Dark Blue = British Empire Green = Portuguese Empire Brown = Spanish Empire Orange = Ottoman Empire White = Free State Basically, people would choose a faction and the empires will be hegemonies. You pick which colony that you'd prefer and play as it. You can rebel if you wish, but it can cause other members of the faction to quash your rebellion. If your section gets conquered, you simply switch factions. Warfare and stuff would be run the same way the old Hegemony was. The year would be something like early 20th century - present. World War I did not happen due to the assassination attempt on Ferdinand failing. The British Empire allied itself with the Triple Alliance rather than the Entrente. With Germany conquering Britain's biggest adversary at the time, France, World War II never happened. The Tories and Liberals are at the forefront of British politics, and the American Revolution never happened because the British government granted all of its colonies their own parliaments. Britain conquered the remainder of French territory in North America, which was annexed into America (the Thirteen Colonies). Also, two days could equal one year. This should definitely make the game last longer and keep it from becoming futuristic.
  16. That's an idea I had. For example, the outcome of WWII could have been different, and France, Italy, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, etc. could be part of the German Empire. Or the British Empire could be still intact, rather than being dismembered. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vv9fFCpusQc&feature=related It would be awesome if we could play as major world powers, and each major power could be ruled by multiple players. For example, in the alternate universe, a person could be part of the British Empire, but they rule a colony or whatever.
  17. If we start over, I'd like to pick the United States as my country. And for some reason I actually enjoy posting updates with some story attached to it, even if no one reads it. Hmm.
  18. Well, it was inevitable that we would start building battle stations in space and stuff of that nature so long as we didn't have any treaties that prevented that. I had an idea for some new threads if anybody was interested, and I can write them up. Basically they're alternate-history threads. However, no matter what we do, we won't have the same turnout as the Hegemony so long as the thread is only allowed to be in Falador Tavern/Library. Eventually, this subforum will become like the rest of the Falador Library, which is a fear that we had since day 1.
  19. This isn't the Hegemony I once fell in love with... I agree. What happened to the Earth days? Remember the Dyson bubble being built around Sirius? Yeah. I personally blame this on the popular vote for a space thread and the people converting their nations into aliens.
  20. We're basically riding the same ship, and we're invading each other's bedrooms?
  21. Holy hell! I was laughing hard at that video while being very disturbed at the same time. I swear that the Japs can be a bit... odd at times. I think that if I was ever caught by that teacher, I would chew my limbs off like a desperate animals and make a run for it.
  22. Greetings! I am Dr. Serephurus, and I have a Web MD! I believe that you may need to go see a doctor, so I will write you a prescription. ---- Prescription NEEDS A DOCTOR -Signed by Serephurus, Web MD ---- Proceed to the window on the left in order to get scheduled for your next appointment and to pay your $20 co-pay.
  23. Haven announces 6 more years until Second Life goes public. The new colony for Gaia has been approved for immediate construction. It will be called Elysia. Once it has been completed, it will be able to hold several million people. As of now, it seems that Elysia will be an intellectual city. Upon completion, Elysia should also feature crystal monuments and a towering fountain with crystal-clear water cascading down its tiers. This will be placed in the middle of a magnificent and enormous City Square with marble pavement. At the northern end of the Square will be a towering building with a large dome that features a golden statue of Lady Britannia bestriding a golden globe. Instead of carrying a weapon, she will shown as handing the Book of Knowledge to a little child. Also, complexes for Alchemists United and Haven will adorn the sides of the Square that are adjacent to the Gate. -- Exploration deep into the Kajean jungles has discovered a plant that is believed to have hallucinogenic properties has been discovered. This plant species has been dubbed as the "Kaji hemp", named after the rain forest in which it was discovered. A bluish metal with a high lustre has been discovered by an explorer. It is unknown whether the rock has any useful properties, though. From what we have observed so far, the rock is not radioactive. -- Parliament is debating over the issue of whether or not to recreate the HMS Birthright, the HMS Pax Britannica, and the HMS Apocalyptica (Ragnarok). The question has been posed to citizens, but no one seems to really care either way so long as the ships are meant to protect us and not for imperialism. If remade, these ships will serve as flagships and peacekeeping forces in our area of space. -- A hurricane has struck Auckland. Disaster relief teams are being dispatched to Oceania. The city's infrastructure was not undermined, but there have been reports of a few hundred deaths so far. People will be treated in hospitals, and memorial services will be held for the lives that were lost during this tragedy. -- The tunnel between Britain and the Continent has been completed. -- Population on Britanniae is estimated to be around 2.8 billion now. Eden has grown to around a population of 60 million. (rough estimate) An exotic fruits industry is trying to take root in Eden (Zhoreuc). Pardon the pun. -- My oh my! This research sure pulls me in! -- The Britannian Pharmaceutical Company announces that its research with Kamino should be available for public benefit in 7 more years. Women are being offered fertility pills if they are afraid that menopause will keep them from having children. -- The Grand Memorial Museum has had a lot of business since its grand opening. -- Defences continue to be built in Kajea, and ships continue to be produced. The mining barges have began mining in the Kajea system.
  24. The superintendent is claiming that we'll still have school tomorrow, but I know that there's a LOT of teachers from my school alone who are in the union. Assuming that they don't wuss out, we shouldn't have enough substitutes. They will then either put us in the gym or dismiss us early.
