He's American. Besides, there are two things I dislike about you: 1) You hate other cultures. 2) You're Dutch. That wasn't even funny, and Dutch people are [bleep]ing cool. Oh lighten up. It's an Austin Powers reference.

George Washington: A book thief?
Apparently. Some genealogists tried to determine who would be the heir to the American throne (assuming George Washington became the American monarch instead of the president), and they found a random family in Texas. They were direct descendants of Washington. Likewise, some letters written by Washington sold at an auction for like $3.2 million not long ago. The family that owned them were direct descendants of Bushrod Washington. To answer your question, yes, there are direct descendants of Mr Washington.

Rise of the Eldrazi
Are holographic Ancient Mew cards rare? I have two from when the movie came out in 2000. I would imagine that they would be hard to find now. Not that I still collect any type of card, of course. I just have them from my childhood, stored away in a notebook of Pokemon cards that is about 3-5 inches thick. Probably some of my most-prized possessions from childhood.

This is off-topic, but am I the only one who reads earthsage's post with a whiny accent and laughs at them? Not trying to sound mean, but most of them DO sound whiny to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPBSH9NUUsk

Hello. As you may have noticed, Construction is no longer a very popular skill. Most people only get the bare essentials (gilded altar, menagerie, and teleportals) and then stop adding onto their would-be mansions. However, I do think that there are some things that will greatly benefit the skill and allow for more festivity and more popularity. #1: Ground texture customization Currently, you can only change the appearance of the ground in your house by switching between a desert or Fremennik theme. The rest of the designs have the same ground texture. The problem arises because we cannot decorate the ground of our house. For example, the Fremennik ground texture is perfect for Halloween, but most people would rather keep the current appearance of their house itself. How come the Real Estate manager won't just allow us to customize the ground? He let's us redecorate our homes. In addition to allowing us customize the ground in our POHs, Jagex should also add more textures, including snow. This will allow players to be more festive during the holidays, and it will allow players to customize their homes to their liking, which is a main theme in the Construction skill. #2: Other Festive Suggestions In addition to the aforementioned ground texture suggestion, people should also be able to add more things to their gardens in order to increase the level of festivity in their homes. For example, we could decorate our homes for Christmas by placing a frozen fountain in our garden, add Snow Imp statues, or build snowmen. Likewise, a player may be able to place gravestones inside their gardens (along with an iron railing fence and dead trees) for Halloween. The ideas are almost endless! This suggestion (along with the first one) would allow for more festive Christmas/Halloween parties that players throw during the holidays. Not only would this improve the appearance of a person's POH, but it would also allow for more exciting player interaction! #3: The Armoury This new room would be a very similar concept to the already-existing Quest Hall and Skill Trophies rooms. Ever since Construction came out, players have always decorated their signatures on fansites with pixel art depicting the player in a room with different weapons and armour mounted on the wall. I believe that this would be a great way to show off our equipment by having them hang from a wall in our house. Of course, the room should be coded in a way that we can retrieve our items in the same fashion as we are able to retrieve our costumes from the Costume Room. Likewise, this should be distinctly different from the Costume Room as well. Like the Quest Hall, we should be able to visually display our items. Who wouldn't like to go into their house and show off their shiny dragon longsword that's mounted on the wall or their Dragon Chainmail? (This should also apply to the new Dungeoneering equipment that we can receive as rewards.) This suggestion would also allow members to keep their banks more organized and less cluttered. #4: The Marketplace This is an alternative suggestion for the Player-Owned Shop concept that existed before the Grand Exchange came into existence. Basically, a player could put some items on sale at a small store located inside his house. When a person throws a house party, they could put items on sale (which would not be tied in with the Grand Exchange itself but still keep the same values from the GE) and perhaps attract customers via their house parties. #5: The Tavern The Tavern would be a new room for the house. Basically, you can build your own pub and customize it with different wall portraits or different-styled chairs and tables. You can even hire an NPC bartender to work at your tavern. #6: More Monsters and Customizable Dungeons I'll be straightforward: we need more monsters. These are some monsters that I think should be implemented into the Construction skill: For Treasure rooms: -Black Demon -Mithril Dragon -King Black Dragon (miniature version) -Giant Hydra -Barrows Brothers Dungeon guards: -Ghosts -Bloodvelds -Shadows (requiring Mourning's Ends Pt 2) -Dagganoths -Waterfiends -Ice Fiends Dungeon textures (refer to Suggestion #1): -Ice (similar to the style of the God Wars Dungeon) -Barrows Brother's Crypt -Catacombs #7: More teleportals We should be able to build portals to more places, including: -The various Ancient Magicks teleport locations (with a warning message for the Wilderness portals) -Lunar Magicks destinations -Daemonheim -The Digsite -Ape Atoll #8: The 'Clan House' System This is an old suggestion of mine. Basically, clans should be allowed to form their own guilds (similar to other MMO games). For example, the leader of the clan may designate his house as the new clan guild. He can grant permission to any of his clanmates to enter his POH when he is offline or in a different area of Gielinor. This would make it more convenient for clan members to meet up in a secret rendezvous place, and it would make it convenient for clan members to make use of the leader's lectern or gilded altar. #9: Miscellaneous suggestions: -Allow people to water flowers in their formal gardens -Allow people to cut their trees and harvest the wood -Add area sounds to Magic Trees (the music box-like sound) -Allow trees to be planted inside formal gardens -------------- If you like any of these suggestions, please keep my thread on RSOF bumped: 185-186-855-60829301 Thank you.- Video Footage of the old Mechscape!
Either way, it doesn't surprise me. Jagex has been moving in the typical corporatist direction for a while now. If you don't believe me, check out the front page of RuneScape. Look familiar? Oh, and not to mention the fact that they asked all fansites to ban adverts talking about other games. Those who didn't are now being punished somewhat. Soon they'll be hiring people from India in order to work the new 24/7 technical support phone service!- UK Politics Discussion
It looks like Labour's going to lose. Not that I particularly care, of course.- What has OT Taught you
Paedophile is the correct way of spelling it. Pedophile is the American way. Actually, it's spelled 'pædophile'. OT: I also learned that the Romans, Saxons, and Norse used the æ symbol. This would normally be useless information, but we had a huge argument over it on another section of this forum. Oh lord, how long did that debate go on for? Complete waste of like 6 pages lol. But I guess we all did learn something, so it's not all bad. For the record, I'm American. I just think it's funny to spell things all British to confuse others. Remember the "Norway rocks" argument? Nu-uh! Cause I'm from Norway, the greatest region to ever exist in the history of the Earth, and I am always right. I know things about my heritage, no matter what wikipedia might say! Wikipedia is wrong, because I am Norse and I am right! Norway rocks! ...that one? Of course.- What has OT Taught you

We will still need caps of some sort for our militaries, otherwise Hex will just automatically raise an army of 7.5 million people. And Dusty has a point. A cap of 500,000 professional soldiers would be too heavy-handed to impose on EVERYONE. However, I still think that something similar (even if it's arbitrary) should be decided and then imposed on each individual person.- Hegemony
Lol. Didn't Grim secretly nuke Dusty's wall in the last game. Also, adding to the military suggestion: To prevent large armies, just cap it off at 500,000 for a professional army and 100,000 for militia. That was the only other reason why Archi had to get rid of the militaries. Even if we continue this, someone like Hex will just keep a massive army of 7.5 million people. In the long run, we have the same problems as what Archi feared -- the sole reason why he imposed this rule.- Hegemony
Of course not, that would break your established isolationist play style... Well, I'm playing as Italy this time around, so that kinda puts me in the center of the action. I was only an isolationist the last times because I already controlled my entire continent (Or multiple continents by the end) with no competitors. I thought you were playing as Brazil. Anyway, here's my suggestion for the military issue. Since the rule was imposed in order to prevent people from suddenly discovering 500 new tanks off of WIkipedia, why not do the following? Each country gets assigned specific numbers of tanks, naval ships, soldiers, and aircraft at the beginning of the game. This will be based upon the actual military that your country has in real life. However, the equipment is standardized at first so we wouldn't have the complicated task of assigning you 50 Apache helicopters, 200 other types of helicopters, etc. For example, Britain would get assigned a military based on its real life statistics, although all of the naval equipment will have the same stats. The same would apply to the RAF and the British Army.- Hegemony
Like Dusty said, Archi designed the rules so that the rules weren't lax enough to allow idiocy. However, the rules aren't perfect. I think we should talk about getting some rules revised so they can't be abused, to be honest. I personally think that the zero military rule should be abolished and some things like what Doom pointed out need to be revised. We're still early enough in the game where we can revise some things and work out all of the bugs.- Hegemony
He didn't put that. I have already saved a screenshot of his post anyway. His entire post was that picture. It had the F-word written in a large font. He would have noticed it if he was just hot-linking a thumbnail. Even so, the rules still apply to him. He broke them by posting offensive content, which has caused people to be permanently banned in the past. Therefore, he deserves the consequences.- Hegemony
Hex --- We all saw that image, and it has been reported via the necessary channels. I ask you to stop being so rude and obnoxious, since it only causes problems for everyone. Posting stories about rape and then joking about them is not funny; it is very offensive to people who have actually been raped/have had a loved one that has been raped. Likewise, we do not appreciate you blatantly trying to break forum rules and then trying to find loopholes so no consequences occur. - Hegemony
