The most useful thing you NEED in RS is a good sense of humour, to put up with all the things thrown at you (physical and verbal!!) Teeg

I was going to say that the next item f2p deserves is a great big wooden begging bowl. As I say, I WAS going to say that, but I thought better of it. Teeg

Umm.. what is wrong with some people? These are the facts as I see them (please correct me if I'm wrong) 1. OP breaks two rules 2. OP gets punished for breaking said rules 3. OP appeals and gets turned down because he broke said rules 4. OP complains that his appeals were turned down because he broke.. etc. 5. Other posters complain that Jagex punish people for crimes they did not commit and agree with OP who broke...etc and I thought the RSOF was bad. *EDIT* and to top it all people complain that businesses are out to make money!! Duh, and bears prefer wooded areas to defecate. *EDIT* Happy to discuss Teeg

At what level is a skill considered "high"? Combat effects?
Teeg replied to Vulxai's topic in General Discussion
Well, I was going to say 92 was quite high, as did some others on this thread. Then I thought, hang on, 50% isn't that high a figure. Looking at it in terms of percentage, I would more likely say that 75% was starting to get on the high end, so lvl 96 could be considered high IMHO. Teeg -
Work out the best way for you. Don't listen to what others have done. Sure I could tell you how I do slayer, but I wouldn't tell you that's the ONLY way to do it, or even the BEST way to do it. Wear what you like, fight how you like, your game, your choice. Teeg

@compfreak847 So, you're saying that, because I didn't conform with your childish "type two eight seven or whatever to prove you've read my post", I must be wrong!! Sheesh. I even read the VERY small print that said something about 90% of posters wont bother to read the entire thing. If you want to disagree with me, be man (or woman) enough to do so, not pretend I'm obviously wrong because I didn't follow your puerile instructions. Your figures are low, I managed to get to 99 slayer averaging far higher than the numbers you are quoting. If you don't want to, or can't, believe me, that's up to you. I couldn't give a flying rats arse if you can't accept it as fact. Sorry if I offended anyone, but people like this really twist my testes. Teeg

Without getting into the minutiae of the argument/discussion, I find my figures a lot closer to Ydrasil's than Compfreak's. I've done a bit of Slayer, so I think I know what I'm talking about. Oh, and I tend to use a cannon anytime I can. regards Teeg

Am I the only person to read that as Xeriana got 10 mil farming xp in ONE MONTH, not one day? Teeg

MUST WATCH: UPDATE: Holland considers virtual theft a crime
Teeg replied to Ts_Stormrage's topic in General Discussion
Absolute nonsense. In your example, the thieves deserve punishment because they are now in possession of the car that they obtained illegally. Just to refresh your memory -------------------- Theft Theft\, n. [OE. thefte, AS. [thorn]i['e]f[eth]e, [thorn][=y]f[eth]e, [thorn]e['o]f[eth]e. See Thief.] 1. (Law) The act of stealing; specifically, the felonious taking and removing of personal property, with an intent to deprive the rightful owner of the same; larceny. Note: To constitute theft there must be a taking without the owner's consent, and it must be unlawful or felonious; every part of the property stolen must be removed, however slightly, from its former position; and it must be, at least momentarily, in the complete possession of the thief. ------------------- N.B. a) depriving the owner of the property B) being in complete possession of property As we know, in RS, Jagex owns all the property, the owner was not deprived of it, the young lad never owned it, the "thief" was never in complete possession of it (even momentarily). As noted in earlier posts, the assault was enough to convict; this could not, however, be theft. Happy to discuss Teeg -
I agree completely. Things change and people should adapt to these changes. Jagex didn't make changes just for the sake of it. There's a saying "The only thing you get by looking back is a cricked neck"! I have enjoyed all the previous incarnations of RS, including the most recent. No point complaining about changes, just adapt or move on IMHO. Cymru am Byth (@ Ddraiggoch) Teeg

Whooah, wind your neck in fella. The OP was referring to people who lie about how long they've been playing, not that there aren't any veterans (note the spelling) in the game. I think the name of the thread is a bit of a giveaway there! Happy to discuss Teeg
-
I think it's just a case of "I've been playing since...insert random date here... therefore I know whereof I speak. Further to that, because I've been playing...insert number of weeks/months/years... longer than you, I must, logically, know far more than you." Teeg

What I think of noobs-or broader:Runescape (the community).
Teeg replied to skillerman84's topic in Rants
Whilst I don't fully agree with the OP, I can see where he/she is coming from. I think a vicious circle has evolved around the way certain players treat lower levels. New players see how they (and others of their level) are treated by some higher levels. When these new players get to a higher level they start acting in the same way to lower levels. It's a sort of self perpetuating noobocracy (ooh, new word, take that Spellcheck!) Teeg -
Next skill that's officially been killed - Prayer
Teeg replied to XxTearGodxX's topic in General Discussion
Now I would, normally, agree wholeheartedly with that statement. However, in the case of the Ectofunctus, this simply is not true. I just tried the new grinder, one click does all. Trouble is it's much slower than when I clicked each part. You were able to click on the next section of the grinder as soon as the animation started. So, for example, when my character's arm started moving to put a bone in the hopper, I would click on the grind wheel. This increased the speed that the character got to, and wound the wheel. Same for the other animation sections. The result is: easier (less clicking) but much slower (over two minutes slower per load of 13 bones). I'm not complaining, per se, just disagreeing with the "clicking is not a skill" comment with respect to this particular case. Happy to discuss Teeg -
Perhaps the reason you get comments like that has more to do with your general attitude. Judging from some of your previous posts, you call people noobs if they disagree with you, you insist that the granite rocks are YOUR rocks and hate anyone else who has the temerity to mine them. There is nothing wrong with wanting 99 in mining (or any other skill), so the comments might be related to your attitude rather than your ambition per se. Happy to discuss Teeg

Sorry to be pedantic but we cannot have more ultimate weapons. Ultimate means at the highest level, a limit beyond which further progress is impossible. So, by definition, if you have an ultimate weapon, you cannot have another, better one. Again, sorry for the didactic nature of this post. Happy to discuss Teeg

Um, debating? Since Man is the characters name, then it should be "Mans." A few characters do have real life names, like in Canifis. Some of those characters are named just like Man is the characters name in Lumbridge. Sheesh Do you honestly believe that all lvl 2 men are named "Man"? Are all black demons named "Black Demon"?? Not all NPCs have names. Sheesh. Anyway it could be a bit confusing down the pub Man: who's round is it? Man: Not mine, I bought the last ones Man: not you, him Man: me? Man: no, him Man: man! This is confusing Man: You talking to me? etc. etc. ("Who's on first" anyone) I agree with highlanders Oh yes, sheesh again Teeg

This may seem insignificant, but it goes to show 1 person's laziness. Sworddude198 actually didn't read the homepage? What the hell? What possible reason could reading before ranting actually make? This may seem insignificant, but it goes to show 1 person's spitefulness. Teeg actually copied what Sworddude said but changed it to be insulting? What the hell? What could "what possible reason could reading before ranting actually make" possibly mean? This may seem insignificant, but it goes to show 1 person's lack of originality. etc. etc.

Got black marks for offensive language - unfair!
Teeg replied to StuntLandia's topic in General Discussion
Irony? IRONY?? I see no irony here. The use of words to convey the opposite meaning to the literal? Are you saying you meant the opposite of what you actually typed, or have you a different definition of irony? Anyway, the crux of my argument, as you well know, is not what YOU or I class as art, but that I thought the word "obscene" went over the top. I didn't feel that you insulted me, no need to worry about that! To insult my intelligence, I'd have to get some in the first place. Happy to discuss Teeg -

Teeg replied to StuntLandia's topic in General Discussion
Um... did you not read my post? I actually agreed that the OP should be punished, but disagreed with others who saw it as "obscene". I was attempting to put into context. I think I realise that there is a difference between RS and Nat Geo!, but not in the way that they are freely available to be viewed by all ages. Who are you to compare art types? Some people looking at a wall see graffitti, whilst others see art. Some people think that Picasso is a load of old gobbledy[grime]! Beauty (indeed all art forms) is in the eye of the beholder. Anyway, thank you for putting me straight. Teeg -

Sheesh, complainers today. Jagex have bent over backwards to provide the gay arena. Oops, no...I'll try and rephrase that. People have been going down on their bended knees for the gay arena...um...no. I'd better stop, I can't seem to articulate what I mean. #-o Teeg

Teeg replied to StuntLandia's topic in General Discussion
I think some posters have gone a little over the top. Whilst I agree that the OP wrote something which some people could class as offensive, and was quite rightly sanctioned, to call it obscene is going a bit far. If you feel that the human body per se or a representation of same is obscene then perhaps you should grow up a bit. Have any of you seen a wildlife programme? Do you think the sight of animals without clothes is obscene? Are humans part of the animal kingdom? Is Michaelangelo's David obscene? Can all ages go and view this and other naked sculptures or nude paintings in museums and art galleries? Many questions, answer them truthfully, then tell me whether you think "obscene" was the correct adjective. Just my two cents Teeg
