Thats the problem though, what place doesn't have children living nearby? Almost every town has a school or one that is close & every town no matter how small has families with children. Ahh you are missing what I'm saying. I'm not attacking anybody who agrees with the article. My comment was for those who read it instantly, without critical evaluation. You critically evaluated it when you read it and THEN agreed with it - therefore my comment does not stand with you. Understand now? Yes. The way you were saying it just came off as though I wasn't allowed to agree with the article. They did something horrible, did their time as the court ordered, and now you're okay with them being punished even more? They could at least have decent living conditions. You don't know how long I've been waiting for someone other than myself to say this.. Seriously, laws need to change as society progresses. If anyone here has ever looked into those laws that are still around but no longer enforced, we could get in trouble for a lot of things we do these days. I'm not for making guns illegal, however, I do think they should be harder to get your hands on than they are.

I'm glad you all know a little about your religions, but when I look into some of these religion threads most of what I see discussed is Christian/Catholic beliefs. I'm wondering if you purposely exclude Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Samaritinism, Jainism, etc or if there just are no followers of those beliefs around here. Hopefully I'm not the only one who would like to see more that just Christian/Catholic beliefs discussed here..

Why would you say the belief of the afterlife is cowardice and worthless? It brings many people hope. And, who knows, it could be true. It definitely has more going for it than most of the ideas discussed in this thread. :lol: That's not what he's saying. What he means is, you shouldn't believe in something just because you're afraid of what might happen in the afterlife. If you believe in God and all that just because you're afraid there might be a Hell then you're a coward.

I think it's easier to count the times I haven't gotten hurt than the times I have.. Within the last 2 weeks I've: -Hurt my foot jumping off a balcony thing 15' up onto a wood walkway -Sliced my thumb open on a broken glass bottle -Had my arms cut to hell by thorn bushes -Hurt my back numerous times doing god knows what -Been punched, smacked, slapped, kicked too many times to count -Had a quarter chucked at my head which bled for a while and left a nice gash (and chipped off part of my glasses) -And so much more.. Friends are great, huh? It's always funny when someone gets hurt :P
