I played around with one what I was younger.. My friend had one the other day and the most fun we had with it was throwing it at each other before class :P

I don't think so. Woman actually stray further from the normal than men do. They try out new things whereas men stick with what they know - normally some combination of jeans and shirt/ t-shirt and a jacket. Women's clothes vary tremendously. I have to agree with Ragen. Almost every guy in my school wears jeans and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. Girls actually wear a lot of different things. Some are a little wierd but most looks very nice. As far as expressing ourselves through what we wear. I don't think anyone really does. Almost everyone in our school pretty much wears clothes that shows what clique they belong to. The jocks wear the American Eagle, Aeropostal, etc., the goths wear the huge black jeans covered in chains from Hot Topic, and the nerds generally wear whatever they want because they don't really have a reputation to live up to (at least at my school).

I think we're enslaved by both brands and styles. If you conform to a style you have to buy certain brands to fit in. Off brands are cool until someone realizes they're not name brand. I try not to conform too much because I don't feel I need friends who only accept me for how I dress or what music I listen to. Even though we're enslaved by them, I don't think there will ever be any change :boohoo:

Here's some advice.. NEVER post your first attempt. Don't post your second, third, or fourth. Until you know you can compete with the lower level pixelers here, don't bother posting your work because the thread will start with a few flames, you'll flame back, and you'll end up getting the thread locked because of flaming that you could have prevented by not posting your work and waiting till you're better. I draw a lot but you'll rarely see me post a piece until I'm really happy with it. Of all the drawings I have right now, I have 0 that I feel are good enough to post. Art is one place where I think it is good to be a perfectionist. Spending a lot of time on a piece will give you time to pick out problems and fix them. My final project for Beginning Drawing took me over 15 hours to complete. Of course that kind of time on a pixel sig probably isn't need, I'm just saying you should spend a decent amount of time working on it. I won't go into detail on what you need to work on since you need a lot of work all around.

I have the best time when I'm hanging out with friends/people I love, making people smile, or riding a fast collercoaster : Over the summer I got to do all 3 in one day so that was the best day I've had in a long time :

If you're fine with letting people be who they want to be, then why are you here complaining about it? You want to know what would happen if we didn't have social groups. Well, it wouldn't be much different. Chances are we'd all dress somewhat alike and still have our own little groups. Maybe people wouldn't be jocks/goths/nerds, but we'd probably make new names for their groups. That's just high school works. LIVE WITH IT!

Finals are right after Christmas break for me. Spanish, Geometry, and Biology. I don't have to take a final for PE or Study Hall so I get a day off (unfortunatly the schools forces us to show up for PE and sit around for an hour and a half then let's us leave). I need to do well to get my grades up to a B average, and they're all between C- and C+ right now (except PE.. That should be an A :). I like taking final though. One full day of testing, a half day of testing, and I get the last day off seeing as how I don't have a class at that time :

The ones you didn't probably forgot about her (SHAME ON THEM) or are girls. There's a lot of beautiful celebs.. Don't make me remember them all! :wall:

This here is a good way of showing how your school sucks, but I think it's kind of off topic since this thread was mostly started for some nerdy kid to whine about the high school social ladder.

If someone is going to get me a gift I'd rather it be cash/gift card unless it's something meaningful. Otherwise I don't need anything or if they insist I'd rather just have money and save them the trouble of going to the store to find something for me.. That's an interesting idea, but the concept of a gift is the meaning. They're giving the gift, so you shouldn't worry about them going to any trouble. It's a gift. Yeah, but when I really think about it I realize I don't need any gifts to make me happy. I find joy in seeing others smile and making sure their happy. So on the opposite side I could see how me being happy could make others happy, though I have trouble showing joy in receiving a gift so the most they're able to get out of me is a smile and a thank you (I even have trouble pretending to be happy). Ooh! Good attitude! You should be a Buddhist! :D Heh, I have yet to put my faith into a single religion and Buddhism is one I tend to like ;)

Well, it's that time of year again. Gifts being passed between friends and families and so much joy in the air. In my family it's tradition to celebrate Christmas and so this year I've celebrated it twice and two more times to come (once with my mom's side of the family and once with just my immediate family). I've celebrated it once with my neighbors and once with my dad's side of our family. In years past I enjoyed opening my presents but this year has been different. Because of some problems our neighbors couldn't afford gifts for us but we surprised them with gifts for them. I really enjoyed watching them open them and seeing how happy they were. When I celebrated Christmas with my dad's side of our family, my brother and I received cards with some money in them and nothing else. To be honest, I couldn't have cared less if I had even gotten that much. I was having a good time watching everyone else open their presents and go on about how we shouldn't have gotten them anything and such. So you can easily see, I enjoy giving gifts more than receiving so... What do you enjoy more: Giving or recieving gifts?

Oh lord.. Another resurrection of one of my dead threads -.- I finished drivers ed, and really didn't learn anything other than a little bit about what's under the hood and how it works. Unfortunately I don't plan on becoming a mechanic or even working on my own car so that information is useless. What they should have taught us is how to drive a manual transmission vehicle. Driving an automatic is no problem but I never learned how to drive a manual and they don't even bother to teach you something you really might need some day. On a good note, I got my license a few weeks ago :

Ignore them.. Who cares if they want to sit with the popular kids. If you don't want to that's fine, but don't get mad when they want to. If you even want a chance with a popular girl, being in the chess club will kill your chances. High school has a popularity ladder as you've mentioned, so there is a girl out there that's willing to date you. She will be harder to find than if you were on the basketball team. And those two reasons you mentioned for why people date in high school.. That may be true for some but not for most. You don't seem like the most social of people so before you decide why people do something, you should be around a lot of people that are dating. Sex and popularity aren't the main reasons for why my closest friends date. An easy 50 points.. And you're complaining?! So maybe you're looking to learn a lot in school, not everyone would be able to keep up. Also, it's nice to do something fun in class once in a while.. You, stop criticizing everyone else. It makes you look like more of a*hole than I thought you were. Reading over this post it seems you're one of the nerdy kids who gets picked on and can't get a date. Guess what? THAT'S HIGH SCHOOL! You chose that path now live with it. You can try to change but it's hard (trust me on that). You only look at the negative side of school. What about the time you get to spend with your friends? Hanging out before/after class and during lunch. Passing notes in class and bugging the hell out of teachers.. Making new friends with new classes and surrounding yourself with people you enjoy being around.. Or are you one of the kids who keeps to himself and when presented with a group project asks to work alone? Who sits alone at lunch and actually spends study hall doing homework? Also.. Would you happen to be a freshman? For me school rocks. I'm a sophomore so upperclassmen can't pick on me for that anymore, and that was all they had on me. Maybe change your attitude about school (and make some more friends) and you'll have a better time. So quit b* about how high school works. It's been like it is for a long time and you're not going to change it. Enjoy it while you're there..

I've also heard that if you get them often you should wear a rubber band around your wrist. When you feel one coming on you just snap the rubber band and it's suppose to stop you from having an anxiety attack.
