Not true. I go through the nechs to get to the room where the Bronze Dragons and Earth Warriors are, and I have never one got hit, even when they are facing me at the norther point of their "limits". I think he's talking about the room east of the nechs. There's a bronze dragon and fire elementals or something. I've never misclicked the portal, and I've never died there. They drop way more crims/task

I concur. Or you could get things like bones to peaches, and infinity items. Alching, alch-stunning, bursting for charms, they all work
