rocketman089
Yeah the second was more faithful but it just gave me a bad itch. I like the first one a ton more. Gamertag: King Arizona
unkn0wnwarrior
I prefer the old version, however both were good movies.
jezebelus
Dunno I didn't watch the first one but to be honest I think its impossible to be better because the newer one has all those special effects which are great and it has Johnny Depp in the main role (the greatest actor off all times) so its probably much better then some thirty years old crap  divxtitles.com
angryjoe
I would say the new one but the oompa loompas were one of the biggest let downs in recent years for me (as far as films go lol). They should of kept the same song.
1_man_army
The first movie pissed on the book - the second actually does it justice. How did it piss on the book? It's been alotof years since I read Charlie and The Chocolate Factory & watched the film so my recolection is hazy to say the least. I haven't watched the second film. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
Nabbagad
Both are better and worse in different ways. The original had a weird feeling to it, and had those long song parts, where as the new one has a few more enjoyable parts. The new one seemed very fake though, the setting was really bright and fake. The old one felt more real. Overall i find them the same, but in different ways. tomdavies90
Willy wonka and the chocolate factory is a bit more trippy and surreal and the acting by the children is much better. The storyline in Charlie is better but overall id pick Willy. sorry that just made me laugh, only seen the original, new one looks good but the oompa loompas don't look as good so it can never win, vertically challeneged people with green hair and orange faces...you just gotta laugh Sig by me.... ____
How did it piss on the book? It's been alotof years since I read Charlie and The Chocolate Factory & watched the film so my recolection is hazy to say the least. I haven't watched the second film.Comparative dialogue and general atmosphere and characters just wasn't right at all. It's a nice kids movie; but to associate it with the book is a long stretch. It borders on a move that ends similarities with a book at the name.
Faux
I don't really care about the book. The first one entertained me. The second didn't. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
