lawrencekill
They're both based on the same book. They're both Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Unless I made a mistake.
drgnslyer_15
but in my opinion one movie better than the other... have you seen either of? they are different RSN: drgnslyer15 15 skills 90+ - 10 skills 99 - 200m+ total exp
____
I prefer the second; darker - as it should be.
Defender2516
The newest one has all the glamor effects that you was suppose to see in part 1, but the new charaters were not as the old ones, so it ruined it. Therefor, the orginial gets my vote. Besides, when did willy ever have personal depression problems? jgrazotis
I prefer the second; darker - as it should be. ... y should it be darker, its about a chocolate factory i think the first probly, the second is just crazily weird thanks to mitsubishi64 who made this sig
unknownmasterofnothing
The first one was my interpretation of the story. But the second one looks better and is a little more interesting.

Mercifull
Willy wonka and the chocolate factory is a bit more trippy and surreal and the acting by the children is much better. The storyline in Charlie is better but overall id pick Willy. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. How2PK
Don't really know, I enjoyed both, but Charlie is fresher in my memory. But both aren't exacty masterpieces. Sir_Alex85
Gene Wilder's the best Wonka. So 1971. It really has
sheepdean
I think Roald Dahl would far prefer the Tim Burton version, his books and television stuff were very dark Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all. drgnslyer_15
the 2nd one like i said was creepy... its not bad but a lot of the people i know only like it cause of Johnny Depp. RSN: drgnslyer15 15 skills 90+ - 10 skills 99 - 200m+ total exp
indy500fan
Gene Wilder in the tunnel scene makes my decision, if I had to choose I would pick the first one. I enjoyed them both though.
Bubsa
1971 for me. A tough one, but when you consider the Umpa Lumpa song, you'll find the answer. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Devilsdragon
First one, mostly because I really didn't like the grandpa in the second, and the umpla lumpa song was so much better in the first
das1330
they were both different, but I liked both of them. they each have their own charm each in a different way. the first one gets my vote though, its more classical.
Harrington
To be honest, I didn't enjoy either of them very much. I was really young when I first seen the original, but simply didn't enjoy it... not sure why. I think maybe I found it just a bit too fanciful. The new version was the usual CGI crap I've come to expect from any modern retelling of an old story :(
timmay929
The newer version sucked. BIG TIME. The original one was much better. 122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting
____
As a matter of question - how many people have actually READ THE BOOK AND SEEN BOTH MOVIES? The first movie pissed on the book - the second actually does it justice.

SuziAngel
The second film stays fairly faithful to the book, more so than the first anyway. Roald Dahl like poking fun at adults and creating a situation where a child can get one up on an adult. Willy Wonka, as played by Gene Wilder, was too much of an adult. Johnny Depp gives him a childish manner, which is more in-keeping with the character Roald Dahl had originally created. The Poison Fairy
sheepdean
as a film, first was best, as a testemant to the book, second was best. for the story, the book was best Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all. blushenka
Haven't read the book, loved the first movie, hated the second (actually haven't finished even watching the second). Johnny Depp was awful.
