Sheepman created: 15% human 85% sheep

I just don't get why people are against this. Religious reasons be damned, if it'll save a life, go for it. Just wait, you can be all against this, but when it's your turn to have an organ transplant, but the only way to get it is to kill a sheep, you will jump at the chance.

There's my two cents.

Personally i couldnt give two sh*ts about sheep because humans are more important

I just hope that it will work well and stuff.

You really are a back of sunshine aren't you?

I missed the program, did anyone else see it? How did the two presenters react to the sheep?

The presenters were pretty neutral.

We're talking about saving lives here.

I'm fairly sure that anything ever developped by humans was under the excuse that it was for the purpose of saving lives. Sorry, not the best arguement you could come up with.

It's stupid to just say that you don't like this direction so we should stop altogether.

It's called knowing that they will continiously adjust the line of what is allowed and what is not further and further until it's out of sight. It's not called stupidity, it's called reality.

However, what is stupid, is having a unconditional support for whatever scientific subject. Scientists may have critic on the unconditional support some people put into a god they can't see, hear and feel, but the unconditional support some scientists put into the further development of their science is not much different if you ask me.

I am not against genetic manipulation, in fact, I've always had a pro/neutral standing towards it, but I'm starting to become rather sceptic - and you should be too. Especially you actually, because if there is one thing that you should be learning during an academic study it'd be the fact that you should remain sceptic about anything at all times.

We're a long ways from all the hypothetical things you guys are worrying about, and in no way should those fears halt the progress we're currently on the brink of making.

Again, it's not fear, it's called common sense. By the time we get close to the hypothetical situations, they will become unevitable and so it will be of no use discussing the "hypothetical" situations anymore then.

I agree. Animals should be killed humanely and should live in good conditions...Often, it's not that way.

I can tell you that Chimeras generally always live in pain. There's a reason you don't find cross-species offspring living peacefully in nature.

Go along this path and survival of the fittest might become survival of the richest.

That's the prime reason I do not support eugenics.

I dislike all this playing with nature.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

As much as I agree, what's actually wrong with 'survival of the fittest' being replaced by 'survival of the richest'. There are many people who deserve to be ahead in life due to the sheer amount of work they put into it, to become rich in the first place, like Alan Sugar. Grew up in poverty (pretty much) in East London, and today is one of the most influential people in the UK.

I suppose the lucky people who get rich easily don't deserve it, but then they're lucky, so good for them hey?

Humans are the dominant species. While we should take steps to care for our fellow mammals and such, if we need organs, we're going to take those organs. So pipe down, all your animal activists and "Playing God" morons, people are dying because they don't have organs. I'd choose to save a human life over a sheep's any day.

I suppose your entitled to your opinion.

However i was merely stating that in my opinion, as well as many other people's, humans take priority over sheep.

Even though you seem to take quite a liking to sheep.

Of course, the advancement of mankind lies on disregarding every other living species. The reason why we are dominant is not so we can take care of these animals, of this earth, it's because we can take advantage of it. Of the vast universe that we exist in, we are the superior species. Nothing is above humanity. Only a moron could believe otherwise. Science is absolute. It can never go wrong as long as it is saving lives. Science will one day lead us to a utopia where no theist will lead because only an atheist can never be corrupt. The day that common sense, instinct, and morale are overridden by science is the day that society becomes perfected.

No it's just that you're being somewhat on the selfish side, you do realize sheep are living also? (no I'm not peta or some other gay hypocritical animal activist group)

Also to Nadril, Don't you people realize that 'animal sacrifices for human benifites' thread always turn into flame wars?

That's because people are stupid enough to respect inferior species. Mother Nature is nothing but a tool for the advancement of mankind.

Don't flame, just state your opinions and argue. Insults are merely a fall back for the uneducated or stupid when they're outmatched.

For the betterment of mankind, who cares if we have to torture some animals by mutating then mutilating them? Truth be told, I can't wait until we can have our own clones in some institute ready to be harvested in our times of need. If I can live some 70 years more, I'd be fine with killing a clone to do so.

Well, hold on now. What situation would require you to torture a sheep? That's just cruel.

I know. I wouldn't just torture a sheep for fun but what mean (even off it does sound stupid) is that if someone pointed a gun at me and made me torture a sheep then i would. And even if the sheep feel pain in these experiments to make them grow human organs (which i doubt they do too much) then its just like a 'sacrifice for the good of the human race' or whatever.

While I seriously doubt that anyone will threaten to kill you because they want you to torture a sheep, whatever.

Just note that there's a fine line between necessity and cruelty. Sheep should be injected with pain relievers or something. Plus, they wouldn't thrash around as much...

We call that murder, and it's no different from killing a hobo for his organs just because you are more powerful than him.
