Possible to become a good character?

You need to see things in the right perspective:

I see ppl posting saying"only 1700 total", people that play "only 3 hours a day". 3 hours a day is actually quite a lot. Counting 7 hours of sleep (quite the minimum), spending time at school, college, full time job or whatever is 8 hours a day, that means you get 9 hours (probably less) left to spend.

Other things to do: homework!, chores, travelling to/from work/school, sport activities, other hobby's (playing the saxophone for me) visiting (girl)friends, other social things. Meaning that when all "necessary things" are done, not many people have 3 hours left to play.

I runescape, skilling is investing time to click stuff. In order to get a "decent" charackter, that's basically what it takes. I think I have a pretty decent charackter. And I don't play all THAT much (<2 hours a day on average). Don't get disappointed when people say a character with <1600 total skill is not "decent". It's about having fun in the game, enjoy playing and of course, a level or two wouldn't mind either. To get top skills, you need to invest top time. Only do this when you have it to spend. I mean, what N0valife did was impressive, but nobody want to no-life like that (not meaning to be offensive here...).

Well...yes it is, if you play responsibly.

I'm lvl 119 with 1,904 skill total and over 100 mil cash in my bank.

In real life, I've got a 4.2 GPA, ranked 5th in my class, going into the honors program at Ohio State University next year (w00t), and I'm a rather happy person. :)

I also run track after school 5 days a week and hang out with my friends a bunch on the weekends. Last weekend we made a flamethrower out of 91% solution of rubbing alcohol and a squirt gun, and then went inside and played a good old game of Acquire before finally going out to steak and shake where we ate and talked for probably over 2 hours straight until the wee hours of the morning...fun times.

So yes, it can be done. Keep in mind I've also been playing on/off for about 5 years now. Whenever I get too busy with real life I stop playing runescape, but eventually I come back to it when things calm down and I have time. I hope that helps.

It depends. It's all about balance. Don't no life RS. I'm nearly 1600 total (1597), 95 Cb, nearly all quests complete and a decent bank, well if a green mask can be called decent money these days. I've been playing for around 1 year.

I don't think I've done too badly, but I never no lifed, unless I had nothing else to do or was ill. I have a social life, lots of friends, I go out frequently and have great grades, and of course, I've had boyfriends in the past when I've played RS. So, vitally, as long as you put RL before RS, you'll be fine.

Remember your priorities.

Quit RS to play real games. :P Bye TIF, miss you.

Yes, it is possible. But like a friend of mine always said:

Winners will never quit, and quitters will never win. But those who don't win and don't quit are stupid.

I didnt read it all, but nope.

I was almost to the point of sleeping through an entire day of school because I stayed up so late playing runescape.

Im lev 122 cmb and now that im putting school before rs (honor roll) I dont have enough time to stick around for an entire pk trip sometimes with my clan. some nights i dont even have time to login.

Doing good in school will have an effect on you for the rest of your life though, doing good in rs will only last a few years. As much as I love rs, i dont think anyone will even be playing in 10 years, so all the time i put into rs and not into school will be wasted.

yah i think its more of time management when your on rs rather then your rs versus real life time management.

yah i don't have very good grades but most of my friends only spend thier time watching dvds..see the stationary lifestyle is very very popular these days and as long as your happy with your life it doesn't matter one bit.

but if you don't nolife things like getting 99 mining in a month will be impossible.
