rocketman089
You can appeal any ticket you recieve for a traffic offence. Gunna be hard to prove it wasn't you driving your own car or whatever, but I guess that's why they're stalling it. Legal kinks still have to be worked out. Mercifull
If you have reported the car stolen before the offence was committed you have nothing to worry about, if it was a friend who jumped the light in your car then say so in the appeal when you get the ticket. If it genuinly wasnt you driving then theres plenty of ways to ensure you wont be the one that is punished. And yeah, ive had my fair share of issues with chavs in the past :( Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Geordiequeen
In a way i think this is good as it may actually make our streets cleaner, and it could catch crimminals because say someone is getting beat up and then the attacker hears a voice from nowhere, well he is obviously going to get scared and probably run. On the other hand i know that if a group of young kids get shouted at by a camera they are going to stick there fingers up and be more anti-social. I know that some kids only hang round on the streets because they have nothing else to do with there mates as there is nowhere else to go from personal experience. When i was in my younger teens i used to go out with my friends but there was nowhere for us to go. We used to sit and have a laugh in the parks but we got chucked out of there by community officers. To put it simply no matter where we went we got moved on when we were not causing any trouble. So i say instead of talking cameras open more Youth Clubs, have places where kids can go to hang round with there friends and tell the Community Officers not to move on kids unless they are causing mayhem and not just sitting there hanging out with there friends instead of being hermits staying in there house all day. But if you dont trust the person who is asking to barrow your car, then simply dont loan it to them.
SuziAngel
A friend of mine was recently issued with a speeding ticket after being caught on camera. She tried to pass the blame onto her mother, until she was shown the photograph. There was no getting away from the fact that she had been driving the car herself. I didn't realise that those things actually get a clear picture of the driver. The Poison Fairy
Mercifull
I didn't realise that those things actually get a clear picture of the driver. They had to do it because too many celebrities were getting away from driving offenses on technicalities like forgetting who was driving and stuff. Loge_05
If the government can afford to pay for someone to sit staring at a screen and barking orders, then why can't they afford to pay for an extra policeman on the street? It's utter madness. Offline and unavailable.
Bubsa
Using several cameras, rather than several roaming policeman, serves at far better reconnaisance. While I don't like the idea, I think that's pretty obvious. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Parabola
Some of those city CCTV cameras are incredible. One of my friends (whose father is in CID) has had the opportunity to use one and they have such amazing lenses on them that he was able to zoom into McDonald's across the street and read the small print on someone's newspaper. I don't know if they're all that good, but a few in the town centre near me are.
Loge_05
Are policing and reconnaissance now the same? Offline and unavailable.
Bubsa
Yes, that's exactly what I said, Loge :| Imagine this: Camera sees a crime a regular policeman would have missed. Nearby units arrive at the scene, probably faster than a running/walking policeman. Use your head. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. dsavi
This is getting ridiculus... I'd like to read 1984 sometime.
The Dark Lord
1984 is such a boring novel, but it does have a good point. It creates a world of utter terror where telescreens are everywhere. If someone so much as frowned, they could be accused of something called thoughtcrime and then be taken to be tortured to confess they had commited thoughtcrime. Then they are executed and their names are erased from all records as if they never existed. Then the Lower class, Middle class, and Higher class still exists even after their revolution. It's just more extreme. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.
Bubsa
Man, 1984 is as overrated as the Fight Club movie. Difference being, 1984 has a strand of quality in it. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Pete_the_Viscous
I thought Nineteen Eighty-Four was very interesting. Some of it was funny, but on the whole I didn't enjoy reading it, what with it being so sad. My advice to people would be to read it, if only to properly understand what people are talking about when they reference it; just don't expect to necessarily enjoy reading it. deviantart account
Bubsa
Don't get me wrong, 1984 is an 'institution' and I'd want everyone to read it, but far too many people make it out to be something it clearly isn't. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
