Do you think that Jagex put the Abyss entrance in the wilderness because there was no room anywhere else? No, they put it there because of the chance that you could be PKed.

Jagex did put it in the wilderness and it's still EXTREMELY easy and I honestly think people should stop complaining about being pked there. Although I do understand part of their problem abyss pkers are just taking advantage of people that are skulled and defenceless.

I love using the Abyss, and yes PK'ers are extremely annoying. But you've just got to live with them. Your getting decent EXP, a nice cash flow and it's by far the most boring thing to do on RuneScape.

Well, you're trading safety for extremely fast crafting... so people would rather spend 15 seconds in potential danger than 10 minutes Death crafting normally.

Personally I like abyss PKers... When they jump me I tele then come back in black hides and a dds with sharks and pots... Mess with me huh?

I don't mind the Abyss PKers. It breaks up the monotony of runecrafting. It does bother me when I have to get all my pouches back, that's the only thing I really dislike about being PKed while runecrafting.

Rc pkers does help in a way that they "scare" rcers into using the slower fairy rings and doing little to limit the supply of nats so nats don't get too cheap

If you use the abyss, you gonna get pked. Its risk vs reward. What i think is sad thoguh is when people camp out next to the zammy mage.

it's the most dishonorable form of pking that is still legal. rc pkers are just people who can't normally be effective in the wilderness, which is why so many people kill them.

 

the wilderness is there for danger, although the danger is a person who can't fight anyone who has a weapon.

With fairness to the author, he didn't post on the Debate Club to begin with, he posted it on Rants. Jake Corsair must have felt that this merited a debate, so moved it here. So don't flame the author for the lack of debate here.

 

 

 

That said, I have never understood RC PKing. The only way I can possibly begin to understand why someone would attack a player, who at the most could drop 20-odd Pure Essence (2Kgp, tops?), is that the PKer is a simply a narrow-minded moron with a thugish "I'm gonna own everyone in this Wildy" mentallity. I can't think of any other reason people would attack such an unprofitable target with an extremelly low chance of a successful PK.

 

 

 

In answer to your question, they put there under the belief it would provide a more interesting way of RCing, involving a risk of death. I can't see any other reason they would put it there, especially near Edgeville. Whether or not it's dangeous even though it's there is a different issue.

How was my original post in this thread anything like flaming? Even if it had been one, it's not like this thread is any better as a rant than as a debate. Obvious fact != rant and also != debate. Although now we're finally debating, about whether it's a debate. 4 thumbs down for that.

 

 

 

If someone pk'd me while I was rcing i would drop glory and black dhide set, that's a 90k drop not a 2k drop. Not that I've ever been pk'd while rcing (60 rc)

Jagex put the abyss in the wildy for the same reason they put an agility arena in there, moved level 3 clues into the wildy, and stuck the entrance of the KBD's lair in the wildy - to get realtively unarmed people to risk death. (Well, except for KBD killers, but they're more dressed for killing a dragon than killing players)

If you're going to take a shot like that, I assume you've done the calculations to prove that slowing down your rc'ing by using an ess spot for a pray pot is made up for by the weight of dhide chest + pants? personally, it's more fun for me to rc in black dhide than to use your technique, no matter which way the calculation turns out. But since you're resorting to insults, you should do the calcs anyways

This is a bit irrelevant, but when u are being attacked by rc pkers drop an ess and your glory. Run strainght to the bank in lumby (when u die) grab a glory (hopefully you have a spare) and run back to where you were pked and pick up your glory. I did this the last 2 times I was pked with complete success. The rcpkers usually pick up your armour and figure that you didnt have a glory to begin with, so they arent guarding it.

The thing is that if you demonize something enough that people dissaprove and even hate a tactic/person/race/gender people won't associate with it. If 95% of pkers (let's say) refuse to PK because someone is defenseless or because RC pking isn't 'honorable,' then the RCers have it easy. Demonization also comes with bonus side effect of making the RCers happy, because the person attacking them is lower than them-not even a pker!-and is a noob.
