April 11, 200719 yr This may not be meant to go here, but its kinda toying with my mind and i couldn't find an answer on the Knowledge base. Yesterday i gave a good friend of my 3M to merchant with, and today his cousin added me and said he'd happily give me back the 3million i gave my friend. So, i met up with him in a F2p world, to find he was a level 3 skiller. He gave me the 3m, plus a little more to say thank you. Now, im worried JAGeX may think im real-life item trading about on accounts, or account sharing/trading. Does anyone know how the system on finding real-life traders work? Or can you only be questioned if someone reports you? Im kinda worried as i dont want to be banned or punished as i have 7.5Black marks already, and i doubt they'll listen to me. Any ideas? Thanks.
April 11, 200719 yr I don't think that they will ban you if you tell them this. They can see that you first gave 3M and got it back later... - Back to casual f2p scaping due to limited time (university and girlfriend ) -
April 11, 200719 yr Author I don't think that they will ban you if you tell them this. They can see that you first gave 3M and got it back later... Well i have my friend the 3Million yesterday, about 24 hours before i got the 3M back. If they thought it were real-life trading, would they have banned me during the night? Im just worried as he's a level three skiller, and if they do not have screen shots of me giving my friend the 3M, they could just think he was giving it to me for a fee.
April 11, 200719 yr You never know with Jagex... Just hope that nothing happens initially. Pretty much what Dragon said.Thread terminated.I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator? No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.
April 11, 200719 yr Nothing to worry about. I have often lend stuff to my friends and never got in any trouble (currently outstanding: veracs, torags, dharok sets). I believe JaGeX would not flag you for RL trading unless they have some evidence to back it up (messages, evidence from trading off sites, etc.). Don't worry, being nice to friends are never reason to be punished for. All I learned in life, I learned on Tip.it
April 11, 200719 yr Author Yeah, well thanks. Im not even 100% sure his cousin was a regular play, he could have been a macro. Lets just hope then, eh? Nothings happened so far, but it normally happens overnight. :ohnoes:
April 11, 200719 yr I am a bit worried about the same thing i have lent things out and i would hate to get banned for rl trading but do Jagex just randomly check all players to see whether this happens because i don't see how it can be reported :? 85 combat-1670+ total current goal 1710 total at 85 combat then maybe I might get in SS =]
April 11, 200719 yr I gave my friend 9.2M to borrow for full guthans to help him a lot at fight caves so im in the same boat. I'd say don't worry about it though, i highly doubt anything would happen. Currently not active on RuneScape.

Well i guess if anyone sees something suspicious and reports it, or the acutal person is just mean and wants to report you, i guess they could. Unless they have 'cameras' in certain locations, well know for trading? The worse thing is, i did it upstairs in a bank, so i could talk to him (my friends list isn't working atm), so i've no idea... i guess i'll find out in the morning. :ohnoes:
April 11, 200719 yr Author With the amount of trades going on at every instant, I doubt it. Hm, i sure hope so. Be nice to know how they actually catch the people who do sell the items.. It must takes alot of time/effort to do it. :?
April 12, 200719 yr Author Well im off to bed now, i guess i'll find out in the morning if they think im doing something naughty.
April 12, 200719 yr you never did anything wrong.... you just lent stuff to someone on rs... you didn't exchange any real life items.... and well i really dont see anything wrong with it... i'm sure you'll be fine... what you did is just like someone giving someone an item for free (you didn't exchange real life money or anything).
April 12, 200719 yr I don't think that anything will happen to you. Jagex has stated that they have other ways of detecting this sort of thing other than unbalenced trades.
April 12, 200719 yr Good luck, I hope you do not get banned for a little 'item lending', Gin_and_Tonic. :) ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)
April 12, 200719 yr Honestly, I think this is a stupid thing to worry about... Does anyone know how the system on finding real-life traders work? Or can you only be questioned if someone reports you? The way you're thinking, if you gave someone something out of kindness, you could get banned. Besides, Jagex wouldn't go to the work of checking out every trade. - Np Tyler

April 13, 200719 yr This is a little bit old, but you could always offer something stupid like a log or something, so it wouldn't look very suspicious.
April 13, 200719 yr This is a little bit old, but you could always offer something stupid like a log or something, so it wouldn't look very suspicious. Actually, that's even more suspicious than giving 3m. perfect grammar is one thing, typing like a drugged monkey and enjoying it is anotherAMEN!

Actually, that's even more suspicious than giving 3m. Actually, i heard it isn't. My friend was telling me that JAGeX run scripts to see where trades have something on one side and nothing on the other... So by othering like 5 herbs and him offering like money and 4 herbs, they're less likely to pick up on it.
