"Assualt" he says.."yeah right" I say..

It is related to what you said. Violence doesn't only get initiated by people 'running their mouths'. There are a myriad on different circumstances that could lead to someone getting punched, and your ignorant blanket-post implied that it is always their fault in some way.

That's completely ridiculous. I was commenting on a certain circumstance. I said that I hate when people file charges on a fight that was initiated by them in some way. I did not say that it is always like that in every instance nor that it is wrong to charge someone in a situation where it actually is assault and not a High School fight.

No, you said:

I really hate when people think they can charge someone over a fight.

Notice the full stop at the end of it. You never made any qualifying statements about only meaning school fights, only that "chances are the person filing the charges either started the fight or completely deserved what was coming to him". I provided an example of a 'fight' (of the same sort that the OP had) in which the victim was neither deserving of the attack nor responsible for it.

Yes. Over a fight, I did not say over an assault which is what you mentioned, by the way. Don't take my first sentence and quote it out of context, I explained the circumstances.

A physical fight, by definition, must involve an assault.

I did not quote your sentence out of context at all, I provided the following one as well, which was the focus of my initial post. You did not explain the circumstances, you assumed them and that was what I was pulling you up on - because the assumption was erroneous.

^ guys? this discussion? really pedantic.

It's life, it happens when two people disagree on a minor issue and don't want to back down. Just be grateful it's a relent from the constant religious arguments.

fractalsignature2lq4.jpg

I was referring to a fight being between both parties and to an assault being one person attacking the other with no retaliation from the second party. How did I assume anything? I was commenting on something that happens often I did not assume that this had happen in any circumstance relating to this topic. I said a certain circumstance and why I felt charging the person in the particular circumstance was wrong, and then you brought up a completely different circumstance.

I really hate when people think they can charge someone over a fight. Chances are, the person filing the charges either started the fight or completely deserved what was coming to him and just got his [wagon] handed to him.

Fair enough if you had said:

I don't think it's right for the person who was responsible for the fight to press charges

But what you said implies that if someone is pressing charges then they were responsible for it. This bit:

Chances are, the person filing the charges either started the fight or completely deserved what was coming to him

Please, keep your petty arguments to PM...

I think it's pretty stupid what you did. and you deserve to get charged. You hit some guy 6 times and he didn't hit you once. Not the sharpest tool in the shed...
I agree, except that the courts should be left open for more serious offences...

Again, I was basing what I said off of what happens around here quite frequently. I merely said that I hate when people press charges over a fight. If both parties engaged in the fight then I don't feel it to be right for either to press charges against one another especially if they are just doing so because they lost the fight.

I'm done. Back on topic.

You obviously don't know how internet arguments work. It is a competition for one person to look right in the eyes of the readers.

Amen to that.

What fun is beating someone in an argument if no one else is here to see you do it? Why do you think Locke attacks people out in the open, rather than in Pm's? Simple logic; answer's right there ^.

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

I hate arguments based on semantics.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Dude, I'm now editing my post, because this is really nonsense. Why the heck should you get charged for punching a guy at school. What's up with these sick people here "yea, they should put charges on you for fighting", sjees, when I had a fight on school (which didn't happen that often, maybe three or four times) our parents didn't even knew, and if they did they didn't mind it either, and if it got out of hand parents just contacted eachother and things would be fine.

Are you serious Daan? The kid didn't do anything to him, and he didn't do anything back to him. How about you learn how to handle your problems in a mature way, rather than beating them up. I mean seriously, how childish can you be? And on top of that he didn't even hit him back! Like I said, he deserves to have charges filed against him. Maybe it'll teach him a lesson.

Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.

How is it either ironic or moronic?

You eat, sleep and breathe arguing semantics. Arguing and 'discussing' in anything. It's all I ever see you post.

But seriously, I'm not getting into this. It's like talking to a wall with you. If you want to dwell on that, just ask others. I'm seriously not going to waste my time.

BTW it's not, I says. :x

I don't think I have ever initiated an argument on these grounds. I only have participated in them when there is a bigger picture. Oh and guess what, this is a discussion forum. What would you like me to do apart from discuss on a forum? If you have any ideas other than talking to people, I'd quite like to hear them.

Here comes the "Advice is a discussion" etc., like I said, I'm not going there with you, life's too short.

Well my girl says she hates it when her boyfriends do that about her. She doesn't like it when they behave that way because some other dude just said "Hey."

Anyways the worst that can happen would be suspension. Fighting isn't usually gonna get you expelled, unless you have a very bad record.

Oh and I don't think he can even prove he was assaulted.

I find it funny you can't "waste your time" as "lifes too short" when defending your uncalled for personal attacks at me which make little - to no sense. But when you make them, i guess those thoughts slip your mind?

Ah, sorry about that, maybe i worded it wrong. The guy is just from my school, we didn't actually fight at school. And for the love of god, it wasn't over the girl because we both liked her, it was because he touched her. Wrongfully. So please, stop the damn criticism, although I did leave that out. My fault on that one.
