April 22, 200719 yr So anyway I was watching Wicked Little Things (One of the 8 Movies to Die For) And i saw a preview for this movie, Unrest. It claims to be the first horror film to feature real corpses. Of course it is, The The Poltergeist was the first (The pool scene). Anyway this is the first (I believe) to feature full human cadavers, and i plan to see it next week. So, what are your thoughts on real dead humans being used in horror movies. I think its a stupid idea, and it will spook the actors. (Notably, the Poltergeist had a "curse" on it and actors in "Unrest" had horrible dreams about it.) I think that with makeup today, it is totally unnecessary to have real corpses. What if it was your dead father being desecrated in the movie? Discuss Sig
April 22, 200719 yr What if it was your dead father being desecrated in the movie? Discuss They are not going to just get random bodies  . Everyone they use will have been OK'ed by whoever is their legal representative.

Yes, but it would still bother me quite a bit, i mean, if a family member decides to OK it without you, and your against it, well... you dead father becomes a mutilated zombie and gets chopped to pieces. April 22, 200719 yr Just a marketing stunt, if a extra stupid one. If that is one of their key marketing reasons to see the movie then it must not be very good.
April 22, 200719 yr Its all about hype and promotion. Because the film is going to be so awful the shock value is the only thing that will gets bums on seats in the cinema. April 22, 200719 yr Men Behind the Sun (aka Hei Tai Yang 731) was made in 1988 and uses a real child's corpse in an autopsy. It's probably a bit obscure a film for people to count though. I do not love thee, Dr. Fell,The reason why I cannot tell; But this I know, and know full well,I do not love thee, Dr. Fell.
April 22, 200719 yr I think its sick minded. Im guessing theyre just doing it for popularity and hype? Quit Runescape 30th May 2006.Thanks to Hawkxs for my signature :)
April 22, 200719 yr To be honest I couldn't care less were the bodies real or not in a movie as long as they look good. I personally believe this movie will have the worst looking corpses on 21th century if we don't count b-class movies. Why? Because they most likely won't do anything macabre to the bodies before putting them there. Anyways at least we now have some use for bodies. Better to put them into movies than let them rot into their wooden boxes. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
April 22, 200719 yr There have been corpses on TV for years. Plus there's the creature that was in Eraserhead.. now wtf was that? lol Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. April 22, 200719 yr There have been corpses on TV for years. Plus there's the creature that was in Eraserhead.. now [what the heck] was that? lol That whole movie had that "what the [bleep]?" feeling.
April 22, 200719 yr Author Unrest was also one of the "8 Films to die for" its not real mainstream so like not many people know about it Sig
April 22, 200719 yr Casino Royale had real corpses as well, right? With the bodies exhibition. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
April 22, 200719 yr Maybe in the future films will involve actors that are willing to die for their trade - say it's a horror film, a character may be literally killed by the baddie. I do not love thee, Dr. Fell,The reason why I cannot tell; But this I know, and know full well,I do not love thee, Dr. Fell.
April 22, 200719 yr I've just finished watching the film and I am positive that only the corpses in the background are real. This is due to the amount of preparation that would be required for them to be 'centre stage', and the fact that I doubt actors would be swimming in a tank filled with real corpses. I do not love thee, Dr. Fell,The reason why I cannot tell; But this I know, and know full well,I do not love thee, Dr. Fell.
April 22, 200719 yr I agree that it is unecessary, given the special effects available today. It is obviously an attempt to market the movie. As for the moral implications, I personally have no problem with it. I guess it really comes down to what people believe about the bodies of deceased. My personal view is that a body is just a shell and don't care at all what happens to mine when I die. However, other people think that their body is scared even after they die. It also brings up some interesting points of discussion about rights. Do the surviving family members have any rights to say what should or should not happen to a loved ones body? Given that the choices of a person to be an organ donor or to donate their body to science research must be abided by, I would imagine person's choice to have their bodies used like this would also be upheld. Ofc, I'm no lawyer, but I think it would pretty much be the same.
April 22, 200719 yr Wouldn't it be a health hazard?! :-X Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....
April 22, 200719 yr I think it's disgusting :-X It is completely unecessary to use real corpses and just because they're legal representer gave the ok doesn't mean the dead person wants to appear in a film -.-
May 2, 200719 yr EXTREMELY wrong. Using dead bodies like this is not right. How would you feel if you saw your (dead) grandma in some scary movie?
