Abyssalwhip
OK I am getting really fed up with this, help & advice, not to bad of a change. Rate this getting moved, pretty annoying and now player made guides is moved? Just stop putting everything in sub forums and put them back. Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....
eyehawk78
I think if you wanted this to be seriously considered you should make it sound more like a request than a demand... Website Updates & Corrections | Website Discussion
Cruiser
Shorter index > personal demands Personally, I think Tip.It should just scrap the default index and go with something like Ubuntu's community forum index. Much more compact and you can read ALL the forum titles without scrolling (or scrolling very far).
the_tallest1
Out of curiosity what is it specifically that's bothering you so much? We remove boards or condense them and no one complains. We shift a board to a lower tier under another board and people freak out. It is really hindering you that much to click on a smaller sized font link on the index? :? I'd like to think I use this forum as much or more than the average user and the changes haven't caused me any great annoyance even when I wasn't the one to suggest certain ones. 571st to 99 Fm Nov. 4 '06 - 315th to 99 Crafting Mar. 3 '07 - 3410th to 99 Fishing Sept. 18 '0726378th to 99 Cooking Oct. 16 '07 -.- 99 Thieving Dec. 29 '07 - 1343rd to 99 Farming June 5 '081807th to 99 Agility Nov. 8 '08 - 3094th to 99 Smithing Feb. 14 '092012 total - 91 combat
The_Sith
I agree. Tip.it Staff pay attention to user requests/complaints - but they can't properly acknowledge people's ideas if you don't express them properly. What exactly is so bad about the current setup? Is it just that it is different than you are used to? If so, you'll get used to it in time and realize it probably takes less time to browse than it used to. If it's something else that hasn't been mentioned, I'm sure people would want to hear about it.
jemathonical
The thing that I'm worried about is that new users might see all the sub forums and 'freak out' and wouldn't know where to go. I joined the Rune Hq forums but saw all the subforums there and didn't know where to go, so I came here. It's probably nothing but I'm just concerned about new users not knowing where to go etc. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
pokemama
I was part of the group requesting that Player Made Guides be subdivided. The forum as it existed was hard to use, as it had become a lengthy list of topics, many of which were repeats of previous topics. It's divided now so that Skills, Mini Games and Quests are in one forum, and Monsters, Money-Making, Tips & Other are in a separate forum. Consider for a moment that Skills, Mini Games, and Quests are all addressed by official guides on Tip.It's website. Now consider that even after the forum split, 14 pages are in this category and only two are in the other. It should make it a lot easier for people to find money-making and monster fighting tips in the second forum. I'm also hoping to get guide authors to consistently label their topics, to make it easier for users to find one kind of topic (for example, Fletching.) I'm not equipped to handle a lot of "put it back!" complaints, but if you have suggestions for improving the organisation of the PMG forums I'd be delighted to hear them. it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*. Wachtwoord
Personally I think this just shows how humankind generally hates changes. Sure it is different, but if you have no arguments to back up why it's annoying (besides I want it as it used to be), you should try it for some time first before complaining about it. When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done. All skills 80+

Seriously though I think subforums are more helpful because they take up less room and help condense discussion. For example video games has really brought to light the gaming community at tipit. If anything I wouldn't have a problem with seeing more subforums! *hint debate subforum at off topic* but thats another discussion.

Beaumonde
I would like to see the market place put back the way it was, it wasn't that big a deal but it did influence how I used the forum, now I mainly find the topics I need through the find your posts button instead of looking at new posts in the forums. Sorry
Yes I would also like to see the marketplace back as it was, and all subforums removed. It is annoying now you need two clicks, it's hard to see where is the right information and it doesnt look good either. Please change it back tip it! misterxman
You don't need two clicks tho, you can just click directly on the link to take you to the subforum from the main board list. :) Pixel sigs by me.Pixel Art
Sorry
I know but it is so small and there are so many subforums because everything has been split to several subforums.
The_Sith
Sorry Sorry, but I still don't see the problem - if anything, I think the marketplace setup is easier for those who use lower resolutions. The actual link to go to the specific board IS smaller but the links to all of the different market boards are on one 'line' instead of 7-8 lines. So rather than wasting time scrolling down, just take an extra second or two to slow down and click the proper subforum. The board titles are descriptive enough so there should be zero complications. Cruiser
For those complaining about small text sizes: Every major browser out there has an option in its view menu to increase text size. If the links are too small to read on their own, increase the size temporarily and go get your eye prescription checked. There really is no useful reason to keep the index a huge list of forums.
