Wrench_150
A reason why I hate mining and left it at 70 just so I have 70, lol. Now that I think about it, can't you mine addy at 70 o.O I should go mine one, think that was the reason why I got 70 in the first place. Lmao, I haven't even mined addy after 2 months of getting 70, how forgetful am I :wall: 99 Fletch~~99 WC~~79/81 Fishing87/94 Magic~~84 RangeEtha! Bauke
You indeed need waterskins, with Jagex updating it lately. But I still hear people saying that granite is usable. How then? Does anyone know? arizark
my friend mined granite from like 75 to 85 took him 2 weeks of about 3 hours mining every day so i dunno you decide
Freesia
First I have to say my information may not be entirely creditable since I only started granite powermining at 89 mining and have no experience on any lvls below that. First off life at 89 is very tough, taking 1 more than 1 hit were very common and lasted until about 92 or so, then chances start to decrease gradually until about 97 where there were almost no rocks that took more than 1 hit. I experimented at 99 and there are still very minor chances of taking more than 1 hit, exactly the reason why i don't suggest you mine granite under mining lvl 75-80 since the exp is about the SAME as iron Average granite exp/hr i managed is about 2-3k more than iron I guess with iron sticking around 37-38k and granite about 40-41k. Since granite is not a 100% 1 hit ore, having a high mining lvl allows you to 1 hit the rock more frequently and does make the difference in exp bigger and according to Lazim, high mining lvl means you quarry heavier ores. Based from those two factors, exp/hr for both will continue to differ in greater amounts with iron staying constant and granite increasing. Apparently what Lazim said is not really that reliable. I only noticed that i start to get 5kg granite ores often at about 96+ mining. Maximum exp at granite i recorded at 98 mining was about 45-48k/hr, very vague memory about it though #-o Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(. Myweponsg00d
Maybe you are bad at dropping? Also...different size chunks give different exp, so its possible that you got unlucky. Another thing is how you mentioned you don't immediately get the ore. If I have this problem at granite, I immediately re click the rock until i get it in one swing. If you dont get the rock soon, chances are you have hit a "streak" of bad luck, and you can renew your chances by clicking a second time. Need assistance in any of these skills? Freesia
Maybe you are bad at dropping? How hard can dropping ores be, especially since they're supposed to be lined up vertically in the inventory column. If you have done this for past few lvls you should be pretty experienced at such things.. :? InkofDeath
I think its pretty clear that we can rule out 60k-80k exp per hour. I was mining there from 60-65, then went from 65-70 at irons at al-karid, took me less then 15-20seconds to drop ore. 65-70 seemingly went faster then 60-65. I don't know what that means but I think enough advice has been given here. 15 to 80-85 mine iron, 85-99 mine granite. OR 15 to 92 mine iron, 92-99 mine granite. l337ubernoob
Ive powermined iron on my way from 75 to 85 (although that was more then 1.5 years ago), and I got 40k an hour max. I believe the absolute maximum you can get on iron is 42k xp an hour, which comes down to 1.2k iron ores an hour. And that would only be possible if you never got any randoms. blakdragon39
I mined granite before the hidden update to get 85 mining. I could get at least 50k an hour, if I was really paying attention. I'm pretty sure 80k an hour is next to impossible though o.O
