May 1, 200719 yr But anyway, most people here just see a kid with a blue bandana out of their pocket. Depending where you live that means something. Yeah, but if the kid is only playing with a blue bandana than it doesn't mean anything. I mean, if the kid is wearing blue-jean shorts, a polo, and then has a bandanna with him, what does it matter? Now on the other hand, if the kid is with parents that are wearing all blue-trashy looking clothing, and the kid is wearing trashy clothing also, plus HE has the bandana, then it might actually mean something. Gang members are always very ignorant (Ignorant does not mean stupid), and in many cases unintelligent. They dont think that way. What are you talking about? I'm not telling them to think that way, I'm asking him what the case was. I was just saying that a gang member would take it as being in a gang, no matter what, even if he was just playing with it. Sure, he may not have been in a gang, but if a gangster was even in a nice neighborhood and he saw a kid with it, he wouldnt think twice. I guess i just misinterprited what you were trying to say. I thought you were talking about how gangsters would interpret it.
May 1, 200719 yr In Moscow, gang members are very easy to spot becasue they have the nicest clothes. Normal people don't usually walk around the inner city area wearing three piece suits. We have a better sense of style than the West. :PI am actually amazed at how many Neo-Nazi gangs there are in Russia, especially considering what happened in the war. Those ones are mostly in the suburbs or rural areas, from what I've seen. They appeal to a more conservative base, I guess. They're usually teens or preteens who don't know anything and just want to rebel. the russians are the best! Hands down!
May 3, 200719 yr woah guys, gangbang and gangbanger have completely different meanings. You see, I would have thought that a gangbanger would be a member of a gangbang. Ridiculous, hey? Ya, perhaps "Gang members" would be a much better term hee hee...so many sexual inuendos... Not many gangs where i come from, just young teams a.k.a gangs of neds so i would say the kid has some style and has read the thread on tif about fashion and decided to start his own. \ It isn't in the castle, It isn't in the mist, It's a calling of the waters, As they break to show, The new Black Death, With reactors aglow, Do you think your security, Can keep you in purity, You will not shake us off above or belowScottish frictionScottish fiction
May 3, 200719 yr This is the most stereotypical thread I've ever read. Do any of you people talking about gangsters and their intelligence know somebody who's actually in a gang? I know a kid who grew up in Somalia, moved to my city, and now lives in L.A. and is a member of the Crips, but he isn't ignorant or stupid. :-k
May 4, 200719 yr Author This is the most stereotypical thread I've ever read. Do any of you people talking about gangsters and their intelligence know somebody who's actually in a gang? I know a kid who grew up in Somalia, moved to my city, and now lives in L.A. and is a member of the Crips, but he isn't ignorant or stupid. :-k No one hear ever called gang members stupid, just (in most cases), ignorant. And yes, I do know several gang members, I live in Tucson, and the Southside of our city is in a chokehold by the Mexican Mafia (yes, I swear they exist). I've only been down their a few times, I'm a pretty tough dude in RL, but I don't like being down there. I won't try to act tough, it's scary. But yeah, I know gang members, and they are street-smart. I wouldn't create a thread on something I have no knowledge about.
May 4, 200719 yr gangs is like families. theres so much drama and violence in the streets that at a certain point gangs are a necessity. like modern street gangs was started as a way for blacks to seek freedom "Black Liberation Organization Of Defense AKA Blood". after receiving freedom the gangs took a hold on communities and actually made them a violent place. now joining a gang isnt for freedom you know when joining a gang you're losing freedom but you also know youll get money and protection and thats what people need in life.

The sad thing is that you're pretty much right. It's horrible that certain kids are born into a level of society where they feel the need to join a gang for protection. Still, though, many people join gangs because they feel a sense of power in doing so. On a side note, whenever I see your name, I think it says, "IGotRaped".
May 4, 200719 yr    it's actually slang from oakland cali, cuz in oakland the weed is purple and in little nuggets so it looks like grapes. then you call your boys up and say "i got grapes" and they know to come over. but that's funny haha, i never thought it would look like I got raped lol.
May 4, 200719 yr So joining a gang gets you protection from other gangs... wouldn't it just be better for everyone if nobody joined any gangs? Then everyone is safer. There is NO excuse for joining a gang and not a single valid reason for it. Anyone that says otherwise IS stupid & ignorant and I stand by my opinion.
