Thoughts? Is the new lunar spells the spells slayer people been looking for?

 

 

 

Might make raise slayer faster? Due to you can contact NPC and then switch for more teleports. You can also use it to get bones to peaches.

.. Does the 'swap spellbook' appear on every spellbook? Because once you swap it.. you have to go to lunar (BY FOOT!) .. to switch it back for NPC contact. O yes.. how many people have 94 magic?!

from what I heard it goes back to lunar not sure though

the treck to lunar island every time you wanna change is a big no-no for most players unless there is a big reason for the switch. the Teleports that normal magic provides is the biggest reason stick with it, so unless the new lunar spells invloe alot of new teleports nothing much will change

Well if you have 96 magic you can Use a spell that lets you use spells from other books. So you can now use all teleport spells if you have lunars on. Also high alchemy and any other spells you want to use.

which is best really, as it's better than having to pop down t lunar isle after every cast

I think we should see an update on POH tele tabs to include other places such as Lunar isle, well i wish anyway.

You won't have to trek back and forth from lunar isle, since the spell book change only lasts for ONE SPELL, then it automatically changes back to lunar. So in theory you could cast change spell book, cast high alchemy, then contact a slayer master :)

The Karamja Gloves 3 were good enough, they tele you to Shilo so you don't really need the NPC Chat spell - which is the main benefit of Lunars when slaying

personally I wouldn't waste the runes it takes to switch over just for a single high alch, so it isn't very useful for slayer (well it is but the update isnt).

 

 

 

However, the only thing that the lunar spells lacked for the ultimate farming spell list was a trollheim teleport, which is not accessible. Thats what I'd use it for.

Not a big change.

 

In fact, and unlike most think, the change of spellbook spell changes your spell book for a max of 2 mins OR the use of >1< spell of the other spell book. So you'd have to cast the "change spellbook" spell full time to keep on teleing/barragin/etc with the other spell books whilst on Lunars.

The new spells won't change much about slayer.

I'm a slayer, and I like the new spells, my friends have been bugging me to just stay on lunar mage to get tasks easier, but I wouldn't because of the teletabs needed

Spellbook swap is really useful imo. You can be on lunars to use contact NPC and other useful spells, and switch to regular for teleports / high alch, or ancients for teles useful for wildy clues.

Seems like that would be a bit too tedious and time consuming to be worthwhile. By the time you got all three of these switches off, there's a good chance that you would already be dead or your target would be gone :|

Yeah, only reason I used lunar mostly. The other times were for that molten glass option.

I like the idea of it but I still think lunar is too rune intensive for everyday use.

 

 

 

karamja gloves made assignment swapping a breeze, but I like the alternitive and the fact that Jagex listened to the players and finally fixed the major downfall of lunars, no high alc.

 

 

 

Ill investigate andadd to my guide eventually but I think most slayers are better off using theclassic spells.

Does anybody know how much exp you get for casting spell book swap? You could alch with lunar on your way to 99 magic to get a lot more exp, if the spell doesn't take too long and gives good exp.

the spell costs about 3 seconds to cast sadly. Still useful though. NPC Contact + Bones to Peaches. Useful Ancients teleports too.
