Probably actually. I've never thought of it before. But I doubt really they would think sexual thoughts as much because they are also men in that room. (unless thier homosexuals ).

Who's to say you're looking at the men? I would personally ignore them (which would be pretty easy considering my attention would be focused on the girls.. Actually my attention is almost always focused on girls :-k )

I think that's a bit naive to say. You (not specifically you, anyone) would definitely be checking out some of the dongs that were swinging around. Just human curiosity.

In all honesty, if you took away the attraction factor, I'd probably be more interested in the dongs.

DG, why are you so focused on girls in that manner? You really do seem like a twelve year old sometimes.

How is it acting like a 12 year old expressing the fact that you would look at a hot naked chick and have lustful feelings towards her? Its nothing different to that of how a 20 year old would act, while the only difference is in most cases the 20 year old would act on those feelings and take it a step further (you know what I mean - home run).

My point was that if the environment really was non-sexual, like Mad said, then I probably would be looking at more dongs, as I've far fewer of them. (not to brag) I've seen plenty female parts, and I'm sure I'll see more in the future, but you don't (or, at least I don't) often see naked males.

Context is everything, context is EVERYTHING! Oh please, you honestly think college guys are going to go into a room full of naked good looking chicks for the sole purpose of just feeling free, that their naked themselves?! You're kidding me!

So you havn't actually tried it, but assume - not based on past experience's of the event in question, but on your idea of how much a male thinks about sex, which are far more likely to be based on culture rather than science - how it would work out?

May I ask if you're a male and how old you are? Secondly what does science have to do with it? And are you forgetting these people would be under the influence of alcohol at these parties. People's personalities and perceptions of others don't get better and more civilized under alcohol but rather the contrary.

1) I suppose he can answer that one.

2) lets see... the biological behaviour of humans. That's no way at all related to science whatsoever..

3) So now after 1 drink you become drunk and lose all control over your thoughts? NO. Besides, it's not like they have to drink alcohol. Some might not.

You're an naive pre-pubesent child! Seriously how old are you? Do you have half a brain at least? After answering my previous questions answer this please. Do you honestly think any college male going to a naked party (or any college party like that) would be drinking more than 1 drink? The majority would be drinking a lot more than that, and considering we were talking about the attitude of the males at the party that no one would be thinking lustful thoughts it would only have to be 1 person drinking and not thinking civilized. I know perfectly well what happens when males are around other naked people particularly females, and having other males around wouldn't stop anyone from having those types of thoughts.

1) It seems ou already know how old I am. A pre-pubesent child!. Deary me, what has this world come to?

2) if I had half a brain, only half of me would work. Both hands are typing, which means both sides are working. Which means I must have a full brain. Seriously. What an idiotic comment to make.

^^^ Lol, seriously though. Just because i don't think everyone in the world is pervy enougth to do nothing but think of other women's body parts is no reason to call me stupid.

3) This topic of conversation was when they went to the parties. They went to the parties to feel free. You just couln't accept that. you thing that all men think about is other women non-stop at these parties. I was merely stating you wrong.

Seriously, however. Being drunk would not made you think lustful thoughts. It increases the chance of you doing so. But does not neccessarily make you. Besides, they might stop drinking before they lose thier minds. They could keep control over the lustful thoughts. preventing them to escape.

Not everyone is as pervy as you think. People have different limits, and different controls over thier bodies. You stereotype everyone into being so pervy that they always think about women.

Not everyone is like you, or what you think they are.

Cultural Take- We have become to focused on the human body and making it look beautiful. Clothing can improve our looks.

Scientific Take- If humans have evolved so well why must we cover ourselves up with clothing?

Biblical Take- If we were created in gods own image then why must we cover ourselves up if our bodies are so divine looking?

Yay for breaking the quote wall.

Yep I'm a Magic Black. BUt when I used to play magic I was always blue.

i think that nudity is natural, even though i do not do it. streaking is kinda funny but it's weird too when everyone else is clothed. the only thing i would have a problem with is i would be a bit jumpy if i were nude and someone came behind me without hearing them :|

Amazing how many people on this forum aproves of nudity.

Why not strip right now infront of your family, then run outside and scream "free at last, free at last! Thank God Almighty! I'm free at last!"?

Its obviously wrong because people lust apon nudity. Why tempt yourself?

Damn right. Why even allow temptation to arise from alluring clothing? Or attractive facial features? I say bring in mandatory burqas, nip temptation in the bud. Also forbid women from talking to men, lest they arouse the man's temptation with an unintended double entendre.

Where does death come into nudity? And it's not as 'obviously wrong' as you say. Why? Because the people who go to nudist colonies/beaches/parties don't think so.

Just like eating benefits the species, but people don't spend hours online looking at pictures/videos of food, or spend their days checkin' out "the burgers"...

The point is, people don't do those things because those things aren't sating their appetites. So what's the point? To make a connection, why do people spend their days lusting after people if it doesn't fulfill their sexual appetites? We are over-exciting our sexual appetites for no apparent reason.

Lust may "benefit" our species in a reproductive sense, but I don't see how treating people like sexual objects benefits us in any other sense. I think at this point our species isn't in any danger of becoming extinct so what practical benefit does lust bring anymore? None that I can think of.

You're right. It may benefit us sexually but in little to no other situation. You're also correct in saying we don't need it any more. The distinction I was making is that lust in itself isn't an inherently bad thing or something to be seen as taboo. It came about to serve a purpose and is part of who we are as human beings.

In terms of eating, some people have food addictions although I'm personally skeptical of whether they just don't have the will power to overcome it. These addictions, kind of like sex addictions, can be explained by thier benefit in our survival, albeit our prehistioric/primative survival. The thing about modern times is that there's so much food and sex around that people overload and it becomes a detriment to thier normal everyday functions.

Eh, bit of a tangent but it brings up some discussion points.

I think he kind of got the point, really. It's not that no one could possibly think lustful thoughts at one of these sorts of parties; it's just that the environment doesn't lend itself to it, and almost no one does. I think at first the reason for that is because you're so self-conscious that you're naked that you can't really think about other people's nakedness, and then you quickly get over that by really realizing that being naked isn't actually a big deal, at which point you have no reason to overinterpret other people's nudity, either.

Like I said, I've attended these parties with men who I've been sexually intimate with and thus can attest can be lustful at appropriate times. However, in the context of the naked party, you really don't feel that lust. There is definitely an energy at that sort of event, but it's very much removed from a sexual energy (the highest of which I've experienced just at regular dance parties where people were grinding all over).

I just think it's really hard to knock it until you try it. I think it's an experience worthy of having, and may actually help you analyze why some of our cultural norms are the way they are, and if we can fix them and make them better. If you don't want to, feel free; but don't judge the people who do according to your own inaccurate standards of human nature.

Everybody hug and spread the love :D

To his defence, the idea that lust is a standard attribute of humans is, in the broader sense, correct. However, I do see the point you're making. The aformentioned standard is a generalisation that can be supressed as you have explained. In a party like the one you discribed, I can understand that thoughts of lust would vanish due to being more comfortable and open in your own skin, but on a biochemical level, my hunch is that those feelings would still be there but just highly supressed by other new, more profound feelings.

Eh, didn't that sound uptight.

Just putting something out there...

In Ontario, it is completely leagle for a woman to go outside topless. I know it is not a common thing (I've never actually seen any female actually topless and just out for a walk), but still it's part of the law now (was just put in a few years ago).

Now does anyone think this counts as public nudity? The reason the law was passed was simply for equality in that if a guy can walk around topless, so should women.

Personally, i could care less. Doesn't offend or affect me. But then again, not as if ive ever seen any girls use the law.

BTW, can the people leave the whole age-meaning-something-in a debate out of this. All you do by trying to attack another persons age is degrade yourself, and really just create clutter on the thread.

There is a time and place for everything. I'm against public nudity. There is two times that are okay for being completely naked: Showering and Sex.

The more you look at women in a purely sexual manner, the more you get into the mindset that women are objects made to fulfill your sexual desires. This leads to treating women as objects, or means to an end, which is hurtful.

For me, this is not a valid point, I have never been treated like this by anyone. If someone thinks you are pretty then it is flattering sometimes.

I'm a bit of a nudist at heart.

At my school, there is a tradition of the "naked party," which i've attended twice - you get there and there's a derobing room where you leave your clothes, and then you head over to the next room where there is music and dancing. It's been one of the best experiences I've had - it's very freeing to just be naked with all your friends and dancing.

You know what's really amazing? When people are naked, EVERYONE is beautiful. Really. People who seem unattractive or overweight when they're clothed - when they're naked, you realize that everyone's body just works out. There is no such thing as ugly :)

Anyway, I've done my fair bit of streaking and public nudity (though in places where small children and people who would be scandalized would not be around - on my college campus), and I would say I'm a fan.

Our society's emphasis on shame and clothing is outdated and ridiculous. The human body is beautiful and not inherently sexual. We should love ourselves and our bodies :D

FYI, I'm a 19-year-old girl, so it's not just old people who are nudists!

You're awesome...

I mean when people, especially girls who stare intently at your crotch.

I guess it even applies when you're wearing clothes.

That bothers you?...?

Losers...

Are you blind or ignoring me on purpose?

Even though I sometimes side with religious people in some debates, I no longer consider myself religious.

Anything beyond nudity within the bedroom and bathroom, personally, would just seem... awkward. I wouldn't want to be naked around random poeple, and I wouldn't want them to be naked around me. It wouldn't feel liberating. It'd just feel distracting and weird.

I know, I know, "don't knock it until you try it". But if I'm trying to hold a regular converstation with someone, male or female, I would greatly prefer clothing in the situation >_<. It's just less... awkward, personally.

And mad4u, no offense, but I could tell it was a female writing that post from the way it was written >_>. I.e., I couldn't picture a guy saying what you just said, for some reason that I can't place.

After just have watched "Borat!" (the movie) I wouldn't agree that there is no such thing as ugly. I had to look away during the nude wrestling scene, it was just unwatchable. Claiming that everyone, including Azamat (from the movie) looks better nude is quite a bold statement.

If you say that "there is no such thing as ugly", I'll retaliate with "there is no such thing as beauty".

What happens when you're waiting in line for lunch... and everybody is nude? Pushing in line isn't such a little problem anymore... And what if (for guys) you are waiting in line, and you have to go to the bathroom, and it causes you to... pop one? :? What then?
