Well, I've seen a lot of people saying that they got hacked and lost everything and I ask them, "Do you have a bank pin?" They usually say no. I suggest that Jagex should make 2 new pages for when you make an account, one for setting a bank pin, and one for recovery questions. This wouldn't hurt anybody, but save time so you wouldn't have to go to a bank and set one or go to main page and set recov. questions.

Tell me what you think.

Actually thats a good idea.

Yes, a good idea indeed.

If I can recall correctly, however, they previously had a page where you HAD to set your recovery questions. I remember just typing in random junk for it and moving on.

This is a great idea. It could serve two purposes. It would make sure that everybody has these things in place, and it could also deter macroers. Not only would they have to now set the bank pin, but that means that they would have to use it. Not that this would get rid of macros, but it would certainly annoy them.

It may also annoy older players that make a new account, but they'll get over it. It wouldn't affect the new players, because they wouldn't know that it was ever any other way.

Wow, I didn't even think about that  But, i thought that it will allimanate a lot of password scammers, because they wouldn't be able to steal a lot of stuff if you have a pin.

90%+ of all autoing programs already have the ablity to use pins...

Good idea though because it would force people to use pins. Normaly I am against forcing people to do anything, but sometimes you have to do it for their own good.

bank pins... mandatory... I love.

I don't even understand why he metions autoing program since autoing and password cracking/account hacking are two totally different issues.

Bank pins and recovs will not prevent hacking, but rather they will prevent your account to be stolen then re-sold on the black market.

If you want your account to be safe, do not use commonly-used passwords.

2480+ total

I wouldn't be too upset if this was added. I don't think too many of us "older" players would care, either, as the ones who care would set them later anyway.

Thank you, as I think that older players should be wiser then newbies.

Also, i hear some people don't even remember/set recovery questions which is very bad because if their account gets stolen, they won't be able to get it back.

I for one set a pin the day they came out but I know that some people just don't do it, and then we get to hear about when they realize they have been hacked and their bank emptied. MAKING them get a bank pin right of the bat, great idea.

If by mandatory you mean that there always must be a bnkpin set, then yes, this is a good idea. If you just mean that you must set up a bank pin once you start the game and then you can get rid of it, this is a horrible idea. The thing about having a bank pin right now is that you can delete it after 3-7 days. This means that all an autoer has to do is set the bank pin, go to a bank and delete the bank pin. Then the autoer starts leveling all the levels it needs while waiting for the pin to be deleted. The autoer might even max out the skill by the time the week is over (Is that possible?). Once the week is over, the autoer goes about its autoer life as usual.

If you were required to always have a bankpin set, you couldn't delete the bank pin, only change it, with the changes taking place in the time period. That would be the best idea.

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

i also think this is a very good idea, i mean the bank pin can be a little annoying at times, but most people don't learn the value of it until they actually get hacked. great idea!

Leapfrog229.gif

I guess cause I never saw the need. I also felt that if I moved into the version of the game that was always changing that it would in some way invalidate the work that I had already put into my account.

Honestly, there should be no need for a bank pin and recovery questions at all. I don't care if 99% of the RS community was hackers, if you don't use 3rd party software and don't tell anybody your password, THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY TO GET HACKED. It's not like somebody can say hi and magically keylog your computer. It just doesn't work. Basically, to be hacked you have to do something against the rules. If you're breaking the rules, then you can go get hacked everyday for all I care.
