I get to claim post 1200 in the topic by informing everyone that the Metallica album is a 1.34 GB download :shock:

 

As of 6 minutes into the download, it had managed 2%, so it's looking like it'll be going for 5 hours...

I'm taking a break from FRCPREMIX...yesterday I had 12, count 'em, 12 chokes, IN THE SAME SPOT (orange notes of the fast-strumming)! It's getting waaay to frustrating FC'ing from Aggro Part-Chorus 3 and then having to restart it again.

 

 

 

So I decided to finally work on the song I've played the least...Kool Thing.

FC'd it on my second run because I overlapped SP in the first.

 

 

 

Also, I finally broke 600k on TTFAF

Didn't expect the run to be so good, but it definitely could've been better.

 

 

 

For now I'm trying to get 600k+ on TWIE. I've been close to a 1k+ NS before, and I'm at about 97% for each of the solos, so who knows...maybe an FC will come one day?

Didn't feel like taking picture... it would just add to the incredibly long sightread session of 11 5-10 minute songs. Having played all of them, My Apocalypse is the only one I don't really enjoy, simply because the rhythms just don't make sense to me. Also see little point in the multiple versions of Suicide and Redemption... Kirk's is easier... yippy...

 

 

 

FCed almost all solos on sightreads, with The Day That Never Comes being the only song where the solo would take more than a few minutes of practice. Even so, they're pretty fun solos. Don't know how long my 5th place on DLC will hold with people having plenty of opportunity to gain points over me, but my sightreads put me back in 5th place (where I had been before the album's release), so that seems to be my niche in the DLC 'community'.

Edit: All those scores are genuinely sightreads, except My Apocalypse, on which my sightread was 373k... low enough to merit a redux.

got RB1 today, and we spent so much time [bleep]ing about with character creation and stuff like that, that we didnt manage to get through all of the on-disc songs in 1 sitting, but we'll probably get through the rest tommorow. The strat is truly truly horrible, and I'm glad LP support is coming for PS3 (already implemented?) but I had a great time with the drums, just today I've gone from easy up to hard, although I still barely pass on hard.

I found there to be no difference in difficulty between Easy and Medium drums. I'm currently on Hard, and don't really play all that much. Speak of the devil, I think I'll go play some RB drums.

Speaking of rock band my drums are broken, the yellow pad only works if you hit it really hard which is annoying

Oh my god i'm so happy right now. I was messing around playing random songs down the line and I was very surprised when I FC'D my run for Welcome to the Jungle. It was my second FC ever :twss: . Then I moved on to the next song, La Grange, and FC'd it too, to my surprise. :o . I was getting tired and about to turn the game off when I decided to do SoSaD just for luck, and guess what? I FC'D it, and I normally struggle to 5* it, making for my 3rd FC of the day and 4th ever. \ . No camera though, so no pics. -.- If I get a digital camera like im hoping for for my birthday, I will post a pic of my setlist though.

I figured I should re-FC NotB since my score was lacking a good 3k+ points, so I practised the solos for a while and got it after a few runs

I actually missed an easy 600 points because I activated a 3-note chord under no SP, it would've gotten me 1st on PS2 but I'll have to settle with 3rd for now.

Hehe, tried RYLAH actually, got 97% lol. Btw, if you think painkiller has a crazy solo,check out Bodhisvattva :o . Looks like Rock Band is the new overcharting king.

I wont have rock band 2 until it comes out over here which will be by 2009 if im lucky.

 

Also as im in the uk i have ages left to get the drums fixed, all products come with a 1 year warrenty and as i got them in july i have a lot of time

Bongo, your progress is scary :( I can't hit NotB's solo for anything (though admittedly I still have yet to try tapping it...) and Take This Life is still owning me :(

Every GH controller for 360 is compatible with Rock Band. I'm surprised that there are compatibility issues with the PS3, I'd expect that to be the one the most compatible, since Guitar Hero did start off as a PS2 exclusive.

So, I decided to continue tryieing to 5* all hard songs and get the Tiki guitar. I 5*ed KoC, 3's &7's, and One today, with only Raing Blood left. I went for a Raining Blood run, and got 174k, and a 2.793 multiplier >.<. Im gonna try again later. Oh, and continuing my FC luck I had yesterday, today I FC'd When You Were Young, Sunshine of Your Love, School's Out, Mississippi Queen, and Talk Dirty to Me, bringin my total FC's up to 9 :twss:

Owned GH3 for two weeks now, I've beaten career on Hard, still trying to 5-star One, Raining Blood, Number of the Beast, and Knights of Cydonia (damned triplets). I've also beaten TTFAF on Hard and beaten the first 6 tiers on Expert.

 

 

 

What I would like to know, however, is how the hell people manage to pass Mosh 1 on Raining Blood without Star Power. That's pretty much all that's stopping me from a 5 star, so is there a way other than just flailing?

Flail is NEVER a good answer. slow it down in practice mode, try using hyperspeed, do anything that helps you to memorize the note pattern. You'll never improve if you only rely on luck.

My method of doing Mosh 1 is to postion your fingers on R-Y-B-O. Then just do pull-offs, it works. On expert its a little trickier, you have to move your hand.
