S&R just doesn't want to be FCed, I can FC it (both versions) but ugh, I've had like 10 runs on each song with -5 or less, each of them with misses in completely different places.

That's over all 3 games too, GH3, GH:WT and GH:M.

Have 190/195 stars on Metallica now, just missing 5 5*s, one from DLC, the slayer song (2.782x multiplier or something once >_<) and then fight fire with fire and two other metallica songs I've forgotten now >_< all of them involve alt strumming and silly chords, I can get 40+ combo all the time, then lose it shortly after hitting 50 so I have a crap multiplier.

Argh.

I FCed a lot of solos today, hitting things I have no right in hitting, can't remember which songs off by heart but some of the things I didn't even know how I hit them, guess my fingers and brain were linked well today.

I would probably have them 5*s by now if my wrist didn't start hurting during All Nightmare Long, guess that's because I've not played GH/RB in about a week.

I was surprisingly not playing any worse for the rest of All Nightmare long, happened in the first set of long alt-strumming notes, it just hurt like hell lol. Got 705k for it too, my 2nd best score for that song (over all games)

But it hurt too much to continue playing after :P

Damn it.

I decided to try Through the Fire and Flames just for the hell of it, knowing that I can barely pass the into.

Freaking 78%.

My previous record was 7%.

I thought I was going to actually make it. No practice runs on the solo really kills you though. And the fact that my star power went off early in the solo when I didn't want it to. #-o

I'm too pissed off to try it again now. Maybe later.

That reminds me of my several attempts over the weekend.

Attempt 1. Failed at 98%(was so [bleep]ing upset.)

Attempt 2. Failed at 82%

Attempt 3. Failed at 83%

Attempt 4. Failed at 81%

Attempt 5. Failed at 83%

Attempt 6. "HOLY [cabbage] I BEAT IT."

Keep trying, man. Keep trying. Try using star power a few seconds after the solo begins. You should be able to get two more star power note phases during the solo that you can use at the end of the solo.

Watch out for the ending. That caused me to fail my first attempt.

Holy [cabbage]. I beat Through the Fire and the Flames.

Heh, I know the feeling. It's a really good show off song once you get to the point that you can pass it consistently (still not quite there, so Raining Blood will have to suffice).

Also, this may seem random, but is Cult of Personality considered a decently difficult FC?

If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.

Yes, once you FC it though, it's extremely easy to FC it again.

On the topic of TTFAF:

I highly recommend practicing Herman's solos a lot. They really help you pass if you can combo them, and practice Sam's solo, even if you can't combo it at all, practice it. (I think that's the one I mean, the part thats like GRGYGBGYGRGYGBG)

Yeah, I pleh Guitar Hero.

I have GH3 on Wii...with no Wi-Fi :?

Eh, well I've beaten every song except TTFAF, the one time I actually managed to tap the solo I failed at 78%, so hopefully your advice will help.

I can pass it consistently now. Very rare occasion I'll screw up the intro, though. :)

I say that is a decently difficult FC.

Anyways, more updates on my GH lameness.

Holy Crap.

Activision has finally made official what has been widely rumored for over a year. The next band-based Guitar Hero game will focus on Van Halen, the legendary hard-rock quartet anchored by guitarist Eddie Van Halen and his drummer brother Alex. From the 1970s to the 1990s, the group topped the charts under two different lead singers, David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar. (Sorry, Gary Cherone.)

"You've heard about this, maybe some rumors, but I am here to officially announce the title, which is coming out in the second half of this year," senior vice president of Guitar Hero publishing Will Kassoy told a press event in Los Angeles this week. No platforms were mentioned, but prior band-centric Guitar Hero games have been released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and Wii.

Though he did not name any specific songs, Kassoy promised that Guitar Hero: Van Halen would feature "many of the band's greatest hits." Such multiplatinum tracks as "Jump," "Panama," "Hot for Teacher," and "Why Can't This Be Love" helped the group sell more than 56 million albums in the US, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

Guitar Hero: Van Halen will feature a plethora of other acts that inspired the quartet, including 1970s-'80s British supergroup Queen. Kassoy said that it will also feature artists inspired by Van Halen--many of which have members who weren't even born when the band was formed in 1972. These include Weezer, Blink 182, The Offspring, and Queens of the Stone Age, "amongst many, many others," said Kassoy.

The executive went on to explain Activision's big-picture approach to band-focused Guitar Hero games. "Our previous two artist [focused] titles, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Guitar Hero: Metallica, have done really well in the marketplace," said Kassoy. "But it's our desire to go beyond just individual band games, and to complement that with artists the bands are really inspired by and that they themselves select to be in this game. The same is true of Van Halen."

Nor of having to buy brand new games again and again.

Yes.

That announcement is probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I'm all for new recharted songs (Greatest Hits), and great new artists (Van Halen), but it's extremely annoying how they're brining them to us. I'd much rather prefer the system Rock Band 2 uses by just releasing everything as DLC. The only plus side is, maybe they can finally fix all the bugs (not going to happen).

Ok? What are you trying to prove?

Rock Band 1, Rock Band 2, Lego Rock Band

GH1, GH2, GH:80's, GH3, GH:Aerosmith, GH:WT, GH:Metallica, GH:SH, GH:VanHalen, Band Hero

Does Guitar Hero: Smash Hits = GH5? Because if it doesn't, then that's another game.

GH: Van Halen, I might consider getting. But GH5...? God damnit. They need to quit putting such easy songs. World Tour was too easy, honestly. Especially since they're incorporating more Top 40 things, many songs in the game could be easily FCed. #-o They need more challenging things.

Now that I've beaten TTFATF, there's not much else for me to be tempted to beat. I could get more Rockband DLC, though. I just need something challenging that I have to work to pass.

Well at least your mom isn't. Bow chika bow wow

They are a company and want to make money. But all they really need to make is more dlc instead of releasing a new game every two months. Guitar Hero the next Dynasty Warriors.

If you choose your beliefs/lifestyle simply based on what your parents want, then you are a weak minded individual and are not even worthy of calling yourself a person.
