Introduction:

 

The Wise Old Man (WOM) is the person of mysteries. I and the people who join me are trying to discover what WOM is doing and what he is planing for the rest of Runescape.

 

 

 

NOTE: I am continuing the work of KCHughes who started the investigation in July of 2005. I am continuing his work further using my skills and the skills of others to re-open this valuable case. I am also using a modified banner that 1alebcay disigned, which I give him full credit and rights. I hope we can discover what the heck WOM is doing.

Our Theory:

 

The Wise Old Man is planning a sereries of highests to better himself, get back at old foes, and trigger the Second God War. By doing this, the WOM is hoping to continue living in lugery and prove himself to Saradomin, maybe enough to become a God himself.

 

 

 

Supporting Findings:

 

~ WOM has a Saradomin staff, something a loyest to Saradomin would have.

 

~ WOM is known to be a member of the Council of Saradominists.

 

~ WOM can wild more magical ablity than any NPC and player.

 

~ WOM has a mage level of over 60, a high combate level, and most likely a high prayer level.

 

~ WOM favors the Saradomin Strike, the God Spell of Saradomin, and uses it in the Drayonor Bank robbery.

 

~ In the Strange Book (Reader's Notes), the WOM reveals alot about himself, his past, and plan's.

 

 

 

The Wise Old Man's Plan:

 

This is what we think, based on facts, WOM is planning to do. First he will attack the Wizard's Tower. He will most likely kill off all of the lower wizards and try to learn how to make runes, probably stealing all of the runes and tails. Then using the logs that appear at the tower, he will use his abondence of tinderboxs he will burn down the Tower. :ohnoes: Next he will gain an army of runes and continue his plan. What he will do next is what we need help on! SO please post any findings that will help us figure out the rest of the WOM's plan.

 

 

 

The Wise Old Man's Motives:

 

Here is a list of the most important motives we have found. We know from our sorces that the WOM is motivated by:

 

1. Money

 

2. Power

 

3. Greed

 

4. Thinks the world owes him something

 

5. Grudges on the Wizards, a Dwarf and others.

Myself I just think the WOM wants alot of cash and power. But how he will fix that, I don't know. Yet.

Here is some info from the RuneScape Wiki's Wise Old Man entry:

 

The Wise Old Man (real name Dionysius) lives in Draynor Village. He has robbed the local bank, killing several people in the process, one of whom dropped a blue party hat. A player can watch the robbery's recording if you speak to the guard outside the bank, you may watch it once for free, after that you have to pay a small fee. He is also the only NPC said to have killed a player that doesn't exist, as the players in the video don't exist. His telescope, which pointed to the bank prior to the robbery, is currently pointing towards the Wizards' Tower. The Wise Old Man can search your bank for unneeded non-members quest items. If you look around his book shelf, he has strange books, some of which you can read. One, the Book on chickens, is about the legend of the Evil chicken while the strange book has personal notes which mention that he's running out of runes (perhaps he intends to steal some from the Wizard's Tower?). Also, if you examine some of the shelves he has numerous tinderboxes. His house also includes a model aeroplane and gold-trimmed Saradomin armour.

 

 

 

The Wise Old Man is an integral part of the Swan Song quest.

 

 

 

The Quest Points Cape of Achievement is available to players who have completed all the quests, from the Wise Old Man for a fee.

 

 

 

The Wise Old Man also has a Saradomin staff and Saradomin armour. (He had it trimmed with some of his stolen money, according to the strange book. This has confused some newer players to think that armour can be trimmed, thus made the armour trimming scam more successful.)

 

 

 

In members' worlds you can do jobs for the Wise Old Man like getting him swords or bars. If you complete these tasks he will reward you. Most of the time the reward is a blessing, which increases your Prayer level, or a very small amount of runes, herbs or money may be given. One of these tasks requires you to fight a monster under his bed.

I was reading your original report and saw that the corordinates were in the middle of the ocean mabye there is going to be a new quest where "atlantis" or other "ancient city" resurfaces. :-k

The atlantis thing would make since. Also The WOM does take the runes "off your hands." CONFIRMED!!

 

 

 

There is also a man up in the tree next to the bank. He is watching WOM and asks for stew which he will trade for 20 gold. Can anyone confirm this?

He also takes money (along with runes) without your say-so. If you don't feel very nice, here's what you do. When the message first appears that he's going to take your money/runes, just walk away somewhere on the screen or the mini-map, and you'll keep them.

 

 

 

He also admits to robbing the bank.

So the Wise Old Man is taking people's money. Hmmm... maybe he has not learned from robbing the bank. He also takes away his books forcefully if you use them on him.

the investigation on kchughes part is still going, if you check out the thread, you'll see that randox posted a link to the WOMDA site in one of the 5 last pages, maybe within the 10 last. so continuing this was completely pointless, since we have people covering things on the WOM front. The Wise Old Man Thread has been closed and the new WOMDA forums have been opened. Only investigators that we know of may contribute. Looks like you haven't been reading much into it pal- the original WOM thread was, after agreement from the rest of the team, closed due to spam, and the fact that we wanted a more controlled environment (AKA the new forums). The discussion IS CONTINUING, and KCHughes is as active as ever in pursuit of the secret.

 

 

 

By all means, continue to investigate on Tip.It, but please bear in mind that WOMDA does not support this in any shape or form currently. The thread was closed, and to us the Tip.It discussion of the WOM shall remain closed.

Not necessarily, we know in the bank footage, people turn to ashes instead of bones, like the elemental wizards around Malignius Mortifier, this is proof he summoned them, I would think to gain popularity through-out Gielnor.

First off, I would like to say that the banner-usage matter is being haddled. I have pmed the creator to discuss it.

 

 

 

Secondly, what if the S. Strike Spell turns enemys to ashes? Can a member that knows the attack check this out?

I can see where you are going. This may make since if Jagex was really into this story. The only thing is that she was very coroperative with us and I think she just wants to get rid of the creepy stuff in the house.

The wise old man investigation started by the fellow tip.it member "KCHughes" was CLOSED BY AUTOR REQUEST, but the investigation is not closed.

That we (talking as the WOMDA) the WOMDA (Wise old man detective agency) decided to close the tip.it thread because of spammers LIKE YOU that continuesly posted useless information, because while we are currently investigatin secret god's conspiracies, secret history of runescape, symbolism, Zaros and other secrets that I will not desveal here, you are keeping counting the number of tinderboxes in the wise old man house.

 

 

 

So we got tired of people that posted without even knowing what's going on, for a example, someone of the WOMDA posted something interesting about a relation between the Zaros and Guthix and the secret dogmatic symbolism that this gets when a random man posted "Hi ya guys, did ya know that da wise man got many tinderboxes? cya". Seriously, we know it ages ago, we even got exact numbers and diagrams about some things that happened and are related to the wise old man, like a rect line that conect some points of the land of runescape.

 

 

 

But is just a game might you say!

 

 

 

You even might say "haha nubs, this wus made by jagex to d0 some playars think its sumthin but no ROLFMAO BBQ LOLLOLOL ROXZOZRZ!!1111". Ok, but we thing in this like a hobbie, we got the freedom as human beings (and divine/sacred/godly beings like me) to worhip a pixel if we want, so donnot bother.
