llcoolguy972
It's sad to see things like this happen. Especially knowing that this could be completely preventable. I hope the polar bears don't go extinct before the world starts cleaning up its act. Also, scientists are finding polar bears that are drowning, too. They're swimming for such a long time, looking for ice to rest on, that they actually die. Really hope they don't go extinct, they're my favorite. ecopetition
Humans really are naive. We say we will miss things, but we don't do anything about it. I'm assuming that you or a member of your family drives. I'm also going to assume that you don't turn your computer off at the plug when it's not in use, and I'll guess that you don't really put your maximum effort into reducing your "carbon footprint". Correct me if i'm wrong. And to those who believe that the developing nations (China, India) need to do more to curb their emissions, don't listen to the media; China will need to multiply it's population by six before it meets the same carbon emissions per capita as the average American. Yes ecopetition by turning your computer off at the wall you are saving the world, well if it helps you sleep at night. China's emissions are actually growing much faster than the U.S as they are using much dirtier coal to fuel their power stations.
Tigra00
I thought you said "polar bears turning to cannabis". The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!
Abyssalwhip
Ok I really didn't need to read a topic about how a polar bear bit into another's head and neck over and over and suffocated cubs, thanks so much for sharing that -.- Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? Chocobodude0
If that's true, it's awful. The thought of polar bears actually become extinct gets realer and realer, to the point where it's getting scary.
Stilev
omg there coca colas 2nd best consumer but seriously though, the fact is global warming is becoming a serious thing, but is it entirly our fault? in the last 700,000 years if we look at global temperature, and look at CO2 levels we can tell that the CO2 usually lags about 100 years'ish behind temperature increaces and decreses but recently CO2 has gone of the map on CO2 levels, and its not even following Temperature levels. we do know that CO2 will rasie the temperature of the earth, but the question then is, what is going to happen, are the stopping of the underwater system ganna freeze the earth, greatly reducing the temperature on the earth? i love polar bears! adam_ross0
Wow. Well...I see Global warming as more of a natural cycle of sorts (ill explain). Polar Bears might even die out..you never know. We can slow down their extinction by reducing the carbon footprint..but there isn't much we can do at this point. [hide=My global Warming Theory]Now, I see global warming as a cycle. I haven't looked into it much..but just think about it. Many millions of years before dinosaurs and such, scientists believe there was an Ice Age..in the time when the world was 'developing'. 163 million years ago, about the time of the late cretacious era the same time the dinos did out and mammals dominated, the world was at a very hot stage..much like global warming. How? Volcanic activity..it was much greater back then, and it released the same gasses we call GREENHOUSE GASSES. Then, while mammals were dominating..there was ANOTHER ICE AGE. And now, millions of years later..we have another time when the world is entering a time of heat..caused by the same gasses that the volcanoes released. And that's why I believe it is a cycle.[/hide]

warren211
that disturbs me. global warming is not only hurting us but also arctic animals, driving them to measures they'd have never done had it not been for humans  [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Because of other generations (and this one) feeling like someone else will 'fix it,' no one has ever really tried to stop the destruction that we're causing. People have to wake up and realize that global warming is real. That we've caused it. And that we need to do something to stop it (or at least slow it down). There are tons of other energy sources we can use, but we use coal and oil because that's the easiest. Edit: In your global warming theory you say that you think it's a cycle. First, it was caused by volcanoes releasing the greenhouse gases. Now it's being caused by us. In case you didn't know, the things that are releasing the greenhouse gases TODAY are all man made. Cars didn't fall off the trees. Oil refineries didn't spring out of the ground. Humans caused it. No one wants to admit it, though.

ecopetition
Ok, time for a very simple fact lesson to those who believe global warming is a natural cycle. One hundred years ago atmospheric CO2 levels were 280 parts per million. Now they are 380 parts per million. From arctic ice analysis, scientists have determined that the highest this has ever been is 320 parts per million. Now explain this natural cycle that some people are speaking of, it seems that I am unable to make sense of the random jibberish being emitted from the keyboards of you guys. Seminiferous Tubule. But since humans have industrialized and released all of these gasses into the atmosphere, in a way, it has replaced the volcanic activity. Again, I'm not exactly sure this is a cycle. But I'm sure that if humans were not around right now, with the gasses and all..the cycle I'm talking about would take many many millions of years before we ever actually started global warming. As for the CO2 levels..one hundred years ago, we weren't NEAR as industrialized as we are today. Sure, they had steam powered engines and stuff back in 1907..but today, in 2007, we release far more gasses than they could have possibly accomplished. So that is why there s a 100 ppm difference in the past 100 years. PS: How could it be 380ppm is the highest ever is 320 ppm? :-s :-k :|
