Text messaging!

... Because I can hide when I'm text messaging and it doesn't involve me talking aloud. It's really not that hard to understand man.

Oh gee, here's me figuring you'd study in school and work when you're getting paid for it rather than texting. I feel so silly now.

I use text messaging very rarely. Maybe 5-10 times a month. I usually keep with contact with my friends though AIM.

Txting is great. And I do it alot more then calling on my cell as in NZ the rates are so ridiculous. We only have two providers, vodafone and telecom. So they don't feel the need to get into a big price war and leave em high. If you're not on a plan it's like $1 a minute. If you're on a super dooper plan that costs $60 a month you get $0.30 a minute.

 

 

 

I doubt I barely go over 1000 txts a month, though. As I'm out alot with mates anyway. Good for keeping in touch with people you don't get to see too often though. We have $10 txting here, which gets you 2,000 txts.

I have had a phone for 3 years now. I have sent a grand total of two texts. Both times was when I was on a public bus and I didn't feel like rudely talking out loud.

I don't get text messaging especially when two people exchange like 30 messages within one hour. Why don't you just call the person!? It annoys me.

I usually send between 50-75 texts a month. I consider myself a fast texter (takes me about 1 minute to type a 100ish character text), but my brother considers me slow. :boohoo:

If it's important, you might as well make a call. If it's not important enough for that, well, I can survive being unreachable for an hour. Or two.

Well I have about 1k free SMS. Back when I had lots of time I could rack up 1-2k messages. Now I average about 500-700 messages a month.

Anyway, I text about 80-90 messages a month. Personally I find that quite a bit because it's not really cheap if you ask me. Recent research have proven that Belgium is quite an expensive country if it comes to texting/calling. Oh well...

I think texting is really really dumb. What's the point of having a phone if you can't even hear your friends' voice with it? Because you can send messages in class? Then why are you doing the frigging class if you're not even listening? Don't tell me you feel the need to send stupidity to your friends all the time, technolifer? Why don't you just go on msn 24/7 while you're at it? You're paying x$ a month for a phone that is a portable msn, correct? Lame-o.

Not to people who hate talking on the phone. Its just easyer for me to convey one main point via a text msg. rather than do the whole hello, how are you thing. Its short sweet and simple. About the money, find a good plan, and your set for life. :) 10$ a month for unlimited? Hoo-rah.

I have a sidekick 3 so its easy to text but I only text about 15 times each month even though I have unlimited text because I depend on instant messaging.

I text somewhat. I only regularly text with two of my friends so I only need around 200 a month. I enjoy texting though. It saves me the trouble of finding the time to keep a conversation. I can reply at my leisure and vice versa. Also, it's a lot easier to text during school than it is to talk.

It's alot easier to hold up a conversation when your texting then when your on the phone. Many people are reluctant to call because they suck at holding conversations, especially with girls. [i'm not implying anything to those who said they do 4k+ texts, mabye you just err.... like texting?] I'm not saying its the only reason, but its preety true. I honestly hate texting and I just call people, you get used to it.

 

 

 

yea I agree with yomom. It is easier holding a conversation when just sending texts. AND sometimes when I'm getting ready to go out for the night on weekends I like texting multiple people and just seeing what there planning on doing, instead of calling each and everyone of them.

I used to quite a lot really, mostly to the same few people. I suppose I could have called them but there's just something a bit more fun about texting, you can hold down a conversation (which sometimes is way better than ringing someone and not knowing what to talk about) and you can do other stuff at the same time. Don't knock it til you've tried it.

 

 

 

That said, i'm on pay-as-you-go now so i've cut back a lot, and generally don't see the point as much now, my texts are more functional ones between friends about meeting up places and times etc.
