Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....

Its way too big for a sig, try spraypainting lightly over the edges in a darker colour to give a lighting effect.

I'm sorry Flame, but not everyone is born with Mrxman's godly drawing talent. Even Misterxman didn't start off drawing the sig you posted. Perhaps you remember misterxmansigpoulinsjc1.png? Because guess what, Mrxman made that. Yeah, it's still better than runechaos' but it goes to show you that even if it looks bad it doesn't mean effort wasn't put into it!

Remember Napoleon Dynamite? He drew that girl a picture and put a lot of effort into it apparently... does that make the drawing any better? No, it still freaked her out.... err... :-s

(please don't kill me misterxman) XD

Anyway, runechaos, here is some advice for you:

1) Don't use the circle tool or line tool. People hate that because we are not made out of circles and lines. People are organic shapes!

2) Try getting some books. I liked the 'How to Draw Manga' series, just because I always dreamed of drawing manga stuffs. I don't really like that style anymore, but it really helped me go from 'ARRGH MY EYES!!' to 'Oooh that's decant.'

I bought some off of Amazon, and even if you don't plan on doing manga/anime type of work they really help you get the basics of drawing down. They're easier (or at least for me) than than the real human anatomy books that show you every tiny muscle in the body. They helped me out with stuff like proportions, faces, hair.. drawing!

Here are two I reccomend, you can search Amazon.com for other ones, or you can always go to a library and check them out! :D

http://www.amazon.com/How-Draw-Manga-Bo ... 766112385/

http://www.amazon.com/More-How-Draw-Man ... 766114825/

3) Get a sketchbook. I have a 50 page 11" x 17" sketchpad that I have been using since December. It only cost $3 or $4- and I still have 20 pages left! I got it at a craft store (like Joann's or Michaels) and I really reccomend you get one... they're fun to just doodle in, plus it keeps all your drawings in one place instead of a ton of pieces of paper around the house. You can also date the pages and stuff, and I like flipping back a few pages to see what I did 3 months ago and how I've improved. :)

4) I also reccomend mechanical pencils. Those things are godly. :D

5) Don't post your stuff on tip.it. Serisouly. People here are jerks. When I was younger I posted some manga stuff I drew on either here (or runevillage) and they flamed the hell out of me. and I was depressed and I never wanted to draw again and it sucked! But I kept sketching and drawing anyway and now I'm not flamed as much when I make a sig.

Tbh i think your just wasting our time and cant take pixeling seriously

You're overreacting. and I'm taking this seriously. If he's wasting your time, then why even bother looking? If your time is SOOOO precious to you, then don't look at it. Because if you stop and stare and make a reply your wasting your own time. He's not telling YOU to spend time writing a reply, and he's not telling YOU to flame his thread. So if YOUR time is so precious to you than you don't have to waste YOUR time in this thread!

fienkunstnf9.jpg

Obvisouly this person isn't taking crayons and water colors seriously, right? NO EFFORT WAS PUT INTO THIS! >:( And of course there's no chance that they'll ever improve so lets yell at him/her. [end sarcasm]

But really. People don't start off drawing like Mrxman, they start drawing like little kiddies. Flame, I'm sure you've made something for your parents to put on the refridgerator, so why are you so angry? If you're better than runechaos, then you must have drawn something better. So that means that you must have drawn stuff inbetween to improve... right? Or did you just go from refrigerator watercolors to being better than runechaos with doing NOTHING inbetween?

My advice is to practice drawing with pencil on paper first. Only once you are really good at drawing on paper, try the patience of pixel art because it is not supposed to be fast and moving like pencil is.

TAKE YOUR TIME

Don't draw the helmet and horns and head all in one line, draw little sections at a time, say the cuve at the top of the helmet, then the horns, then the curves to where it connects to the head, then draw the head, draw the features, again SLOWLY and clean up the line, make it so every pixel is attached by a corner in most cases, unless it makes it look weird, then its ok to leave it as it was. so my advice, zoom in as far as possible, draw small sections not whole limbs at a time. i know i might get flamed but forget shading for know, focus on getting the outlines right then move onto shading, or star off with simple shading

the left side shows the kind of 2 tone shading i think you should use, the right shows the difference between connected lines and ones only connected by diagonals, i think youll agree they look much better without thick black lines

Sig by me....

Theres no point flaming this guy, he's not gonna get any better if you juts insult him.

First things first, Save pixels as a gif or png. Jpg has a horrible loss in quality.

Second, try some shading by changing the RGB value of colours.

Look at Misterxman's siganture.

misterxmansigcwsmalllp7.png

Copy it into paint then Zoom, there will be pixels of many different colours. As in pink's example of shading, make it lighter from the lightsource.

Try this, and post back.

Also, I would get rid of the black lines, use a slightly darker colour from the colours inside the piece.

Yeah, the line tool is perfectly fine, especially when doing sword and daggers! But using one line to connect, say, the shoulder and the wrist is bad. The line tool is actually very handy because it makes straight lines! :D

Ok I'm starting to get slightly annoyed at people replying, STOP QUOTING MXM's SIG!!! Yes it's amazing, but he's just starting pixeling and you're telling him to look at the shading on it...if anything you should be telling him to look at the shading used by Lazy Cat in the above signature, 2 toned, after he perfects outlines and 2 toned shading, then he can move onto using more colours and dithering, the new sig looks much better, still a bit scrappy with the lines, if you're drawing bows a good tip is use the cuved line tool, much easier than drawing freehand curves. It can also be used for arms, legs, anything if you curve it right and take your time to perfect it.

Mmmkay, ratings are obviously bad, anyway I think you should think about actually looking at the pictures, do you see where the mistakes could be, if so then fix them up...

Look at the curving, the fact that the legs have different lengths, adding things to the background maybe and pretty much making everything look more smooth...

I've got to say if you want to pixel, you should put more patience into it, try doing one for an hour atleast and making everything, the shape first off look good, if your not sure how to improve the shape then look at a bunch of other peoples works first, and understand how the structure of things, as well as special added details is added. I probably wouldn't recommend shading yet, but it will help in the near future once your get the actual shape of your objects corrected.

Anyways you can find guides at the top of the page, in the announcement

The Gallery Rules, FAQ and Resources

Check it out, and hope you get better :D

PS: Enough with the flames guys, just give him the advice, and hopefully he'll spend more time improving

yep

pretty much what i was gonna post :D
