July 9, 200719 yr The Great Wall and the Colosseum are worthy, but none of the rest are. I don't feel that the rest represent an incredible superhuman feath/effort like the current Wonders do.
July 10, 200719 yr i didnt vote but i would have votedc the great wall of china in wat about the egiption pyrimids? Thanks SkyFleet for the awsome siggy!
July 10, 200719 yr How could they not have put the Kremlin in there? I am mildly irritated (I know, i bet you thought I would say outraged), but really, sure, it is more modern, but who cares? Command the Murderous Chalices! Drink ye harpooners! drink and swear, ye men that man the deathful whaleboat's bow- Death to Moby Dick!BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
July 10, 200719 yr Well, the Statue of Christ the Redeemer is breath-taking to look at, but its hardly an achievement. It took hardly a decade to build, somewhere in the 1920s-1930s. If it weren't for the Brazilian gov taking an active role, it wouldnt have been a world wonder. Petra, i agree with. Its undervalued by most ppl, just because they never heard of it. Its a flippin city carved into the mountain. Its incredible! The Taj Mahal too. Not only is it possibly the most beautiful buildings in the list to look at, its also extremely intricate and incredibly detailed. I visited it once... Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.
July 10, 200719 yr I'm not lovin most of that stuff...... The only one that I would have voted for was Petra, Jordan. That place is incredible(and its in Indiana Jones) 1st post :D :P its also in Tin Tin: the Red Sea Sharks as well I think
July 10, 200719 yr The Collosus of Rhodes is probably my most favourite thing ever built, but it shouldn't be on there....For one, it doesn't exist anymore, and two....Yea...It just isn't there anymore. :P I really feel Christ the Redeemer should not be on there, as cool as it is, it's just not a "wonder" at all. Easter Island and Stonehedge should both be on there by default because 1) we're not 100% sure how they got there, and 2) we're not sure how -whoever did it - did it. Plus they're just amazing works of art anyways. But whatever. As far as I'm concerned, this is a total sham and I'll be refering to the old 7 as the true wonders. :P The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!
July 10, 200719 yr Haha wow I jumped the gun a little there, I clicked this thread expecting to see 7 large take out food signs. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.
July 10, 200719 yr The Collosus of Rhodes is probably my most favourite thing ever built, but it shouldn't be on there....For one, it doesn't exist anymore, and two....Yea...It just isn't there anymore. :PThat is so true. It's too much of a mix, they really need a 7 wonders of the ancient world (existing); 7 wonders of the ancient world (proven to exist in the past but not anymore); 7 wonders of the modern world.
July 10, 200719 yr ive been to petra, it amazing. i honestly dont know how the hell they carved all that [cabbage] into the mountain. the irrigation system they carved in the rock is baffling. Dont diss petra if youve never been there. Ive seen it and i was amazed and have to agree it deserves its place on the 7 wonders list
