insane
To lose weight is very simple. When you wake up DON'T EAT ANYTHING! Go running for a good 10-20mins. When you wake up, and run on an empty stomach you will burn fat. You can also do this after a workout. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you continue to live that way, not only will you be burning fat, but also muscle. Who says no one is eating breakfast? You're just running prior to eating breakfast. If you reduce your caloric intake to 500 calories a day, you should lose 1 pound a week automatically. That's unhealthy. An average diet consists of 2000 calories a day. That means reducing your meal intake to 0.75 meals/day.

Mr_Cheese
My mum went on a diet that she only ate protein, it worked for her i tried it but i started getting bad headaches so i stopped. just eat more fruit and do an hour of cardio 4 times a week Thanks SkyFleet for the awsome siggy! Kill_Thomas9
my friend's parents knew someone who was morbidly obese, (about 300 lbs overweight) and went on one of those diets where they only eat this gell stuff that gives them nutrients that they need. It cost her about $10,000, and took about 5 months. When she was done, she went on a cruise, and gained it all back... Very sad. Anyway, I would still recomend diet, and cardoivascular activities, such as running, or swimming.

The only reason people run, is because if you run 5 miles, it will only take you about 30-50 minutes, depending on how fast/slow you are. If you walk a mile, it will take you 50-70 minutes, again depending on how fast/slow you are.

arizark
I lost 16 kilos in 3 months by simply walking to and back from work and uni. I used to be lazy and catch the bus. Now I walk 1 hour to the building, 1 hour home + say 7 hours work = 9 hours of exercise Walk 35 minuets to the train station, 15 minuets to the university + over a 10 hour uni day add about an hour of stair walking + 15 minute walk back to the station, 35 minuets back to house = almost 3 hours of exercise So say I had Mon Tues Wed = all university Thurs Fri Sat = all work Sunday off I walked everywhere instead of the bus, I changed nothing in my diet other than not drinking soft drink. I like my new figure :P All I did was started walking instead of transport and started drinking water and juice instead of soft drink.hmm i guess i will walk to work(when i get a job >.>) now will be hard though lol since i'm getting my license in a month

If your body doesn't have carbs to burn for energy it will burn protein. No matter what, for the first 10ish minutes of exercise, you will burn carbs/protein, not fat. Celluzion
A HIIT session involves a warmup period, several short, maximum-intensity efforts separated by moderate recovery intervals, and a cooldown period. The period of alternating effort and recovery intervals typically lasts a total of 15 minutes. Directly from Wikipedia.org. So what you should do is, warm up, sprint as fast as you can, for as long as you can, recover until you think you can sprint again, repeat. Once you're done, cooldown. Whole process shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. Try to get a stopwatch or a timer to make sure you're within the 15 minute period, and to time your rests. If you cannot get a stopwatch, you can try this. Find a running track. Sprint during the long stretches, and jog slowly in the turns, or take a short rest. Do a few rounds of that. I first heard about it on my other favourite forum, bodybuilding.com. A lot of people there advocate HIIT for cutting, and it's proven to work. Of course, you're gonna eat much more healthy too. Try not to eat Maccas and drink beers, however, it's good to "Cheat" at least once a week so you don't go crazy. Just find one meal per week to binge on whatever the hell it is you crave. Remember these things are important to burn fat and maintain whatever muscle you have. -Eat Clean -Eat high protein food -Eat in caloric deficit (<200-500 of your maintanence level) -HIIT. -Eat 6-8 times a day to keep your metabolism high. IGoddessI
hmm I guess I will walk to work(when i get a job >.>) now will be hard though lol since I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m getting my license in a month It's hard at first because you're not used to it. I used to sweat and hate it so much it wasn't funny. Now I walk and before I know it, I'm there and I don't sweat anymore. I shove my joggers on and change in to my work shoes when I get in to the building. Invest in an ipod, shove it in your ears, and move your legs to the beat. I walk everywhere now and I zone out and listen to my music, before I even realise how long I've been walking for I'm already there! You feel great after, I remember I wasn't over weight but I was chubby and because I didn't exercise in so long I couldn't even run down the end of the street, now I run to the train station and work when I'm running late. I remember the first time I was running late for an exam in university and I just ran and I couldn't believe how fit I had got from simply walking! Good luck let me know how you go, as soon as you start seeing results on the scales the more motivated you will be to walk, just don't get down when it takes a while. Every morning just look in the mirror and say my name is "insert name here" no one is going to f*ck with my day and I deserve to lose weight. It will help you with self esteem as well as your weight loss. If you want to lose weight, first you must BELIEVE that you DESERVE to lose it. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. Now, I'm not a very fast runner myself, but I'd say if it takes you 10 minutes, you're slow as hell, or just lazy. :P I can run a mile in 6 minutes without breaking a sweat. if I really wanted to boot it, I could probably do on in 5...Maybe 4 at like full-speed, non-stop, which would...suck. If I were you, I would buy a treadmil, but that's just because I enjoy running. Until I get to those inevitable cramps that come... Darn you mitochondric disorder A treadmill is the most worthless purchase one person can ever make. For starters, they're damn near $1500 usually, and they suck. We have one, we also have an elliptical runner (kicks [wagon] and was only $600...well, free for us, came with our smith machine) that works your legs and lets you run at your own pace, not a set pace, and we also have a personal training system (smith machine, bench, pulleys, all that jazz) that was $4500. If my dad could go back, I'm sure he'd ditch that stupid treadmill, because it hardly gets used. Did I mention that they're $1500 and are less effective than, say...GOING OUTSIDE AND WALKING? Just sayin'. :P The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!

Guest
Since you're in Sydney... Hop over to the Masonic hall in Burwood if it isn't too much of a bother. It's about three minutes' walk from the station. Go there on a Monday night, after 19:00, and you'll be able to catch the friendly folks of the Barony of Rowany SCA group. Make it known that you have nothing against dressing up in armour and letting a bunch of muscular, bearded men beat the hell out of you with large sticks while vainly trying to defend yourself. If you don't lose any weight after a few weeks of that, then I would suggest something a little more extreme, like wrestling with a bear. ROFL! Just make sure you leave early, my lesson learnt, always leave much earlier then expected when catching Sydney's Train Network. High Intensive Interval Training(HIIT) Is much more useful than long distance jogging. For losing weight that's true, but unless your doing it with others its much easier for someone just starting out exercising regularly to bludge and slacken off while doing HIIT, rather than running a long distance where you really can't avoid not exercising. That's my opinion anyway.
